As Head Seraphim, Sera has several new responsibilities to tend to, now that redemption of Sinners wasn't just possible, but actively getting worked towards. Although, the angel felt she needed a bit more perspective on the plight of mortals to even end up as Sinners. Thus, she had been given special privileges for a "vacation". A learning experience as a Mortal herself.
The rules were simple. She was to stay about a month in the lower realm and see just how easy it is for mortals to rack up sins, all while resisting temptation herself.
