@fentylova
you were never curious enough about me
no matter how little you think you know about history you shouldn’t beat yourself up over it because there is always someone who knows less than you and is more confident about it. someone once said that bridgerton was medieval to me
another person also thought that the middle ages were the period in between wwi and wwii so you should always be proud of yourself for having any sort of knowledge about the medieval period. i’m proud of you for not thinking fdr was an important medieval figure.
don't be mean to yourself that's you
you live there
Needed some sun ☀️
My Disability Studies professor said something that I think was very good and explains a lot about professional attitudes toward people with disabilities. This is what she said:
“We [people with disabilities] are the last thing on the HR discrimination list. Companies always list things like, ‘we eliminate discrimination on the basis of gender, race, religion, nationality, identity… oh, and disability.’ It’s just tacked on at the end. The others are mostly about being nice, respectful, and treating people equally. Not discriminating against people with disabilities is more complicated. You need to change your environment, code, the way you design things. You actually need to make changes, and most companies do not want to do that.”
I thought this was a really good insight. We’re often thought about last, if we’re thought about at all. Accommodating us takes effort and a lot of people just don’t want to make the effort.
Everyone understands privacy until a disabled person doesn’t wanna disclose their disability
all you need is a good shower and a slow night to start believing life is worth living again
for whoever needs to hear this today: the definition of being a good person is not putting others before yourself all the time, and it is not disregarding your own problems as less important or less urgent than those of who you love. you are a person, too, and you will need help and advice, too, and that is just as worthy of a thing to work for and prioritize. it isn't selfless and beautiful to neglect yourself and it won't make you better.
