so what do we even do? it feels utterly hopeless sometimes when i remember the president was literally in the epstein files and all those little girls were raped and abused and nobody even cares (people overwhelmingly male are even joking about it). everything just makes me sick. “you’re a teenager stop worrying about that stuff” but i do care about this fucking stuff?? these are human beings, the fuck is wrong with you? women in afghanistan are being killed and beaten and males a part of doctors without borders, yknow the ones who are supposed to help? have been raping the female refugees. what the fuck? i’m just overall disgusted. i am so tired of seeing girls and women get mistreated and shoved around and be expected to just suck it up and accept it, it’s fucking disgusting. and there’s like nobody/no adult irl for me to talk about this fucking stuff with.

We do what Albania is currently doing. We do what the French do. What early Americans have done. We need to make mountains out of mole hills when it comes to how PUBLIC SERVANTS are treating their constituents. THEY are supposed to serve US.

So many people are using fear of consequences as a crutch. I promise you, I’m also scared. The reason I don’t act is because there is only so much I can do as one person. The warehouse fire was amazing. The death of the UHC CEO is a death he earned. But because these people acted solo, their impact only went so far. One warehouse fire costs chump change to them. But if you target multiple? If you plan to disrupt development at multiple locations? That’s what will make a splash.

Meet with people IRL who you know align with you. Read history books. Vet people thoroughly. Plan. Pass out zines and leaflets. Establish community.

For people easing themselves in, cancel subscription services. If you really like a show or movie, pirate it. Stop buying from Amazon, stop using paypal if you can. Any company who is involved needs to lose funding.

People need to be reminded: We can either die fighting our circumstances, or die slowly as a victim of them.

This is something that I fully support! A lot of authors dislike it but Ive found several super great authors by reading their books for free. And guess what?

Me reading like 2 of their books for free has now had me buying all their books digitally and starting on physical copies. One I dont even read the summaries on new books, I just purchase the them.

So like go ahead and read them for free! Read all the books you can!

So the government of Canada just passed Bill C-14. This had gotten the royal assent and it will be codified into law in like 30 days. And there is some squabbling about if its okay or not. And the bill has several things it looked into and adjusted. But the two things I wanted to look at were the Bail Reform and the Sentacing Reform.

I have been watching it for a while and there are some people against this. Basically saying its unconstitutional against individual rights but for me. This is a HUGE win for women and children.

One of the things that has been changed is if you commit violent crimes more than once. A judge is supposed to look at the pattern of behaviour and you are then suppose to prove to the judge you arent a harm to the public before you get bail. Which is known as 'reverse onus'. So no more beating your wife 8 times and getting bail every single time. You have to prove you aren't a danger. The courts dont just automatically grant it.

This is HUGE! Like this is massive! We all know of cases where a man is arrested for domestic violence and when he bails out, he goes and does it again or even worse he kills his partner. This helps prevent that happening again. He does it and he then has to prove he deserves bail and he won't be a harm to the community.

And then the bill ALSO adjusts it for sexual crimes. So those criminals will automatically have reverse onus if they have committed sexual assault involving choking, suffocating or strangulation. Which is a HUGE win in my eyes!

They also increased the time period judges can look back. So a judge can look back at criminal history up to 10 years in some cases. And they will automatically have reverse onus applied if they have had 2 prior violent offenses on their record.

As for the sentancing, the judges MUST look at certain aggravating factors to gauge the severity of the sentancing to make sure it matches the severity of the offense. These include if the charges are related to children or involve intimate or domestic violence but it also allows judges to look back 5 years for prior convictions of similar nature and add that as an aggravating factor!

They also remove conditional sentances, so those that allow house arrest on anyone found guilty of serious sexual offense, including those against children! In Canada we all heard about the pedo in Edmonton who was allowed to be on house arrest only blocks away from the victim he assaulted. There would be no more of that!

There is so much more that can be done but this is major! This is such a huge win for the safety of women and children when it comes to sexual abuse and domestic abuse. It gives them more safety and in turn keeps the public safer.

So I am quite loudly celebrating this update to the criminal code in Canada! It was about damned time that such changes are being made and I hope to all the goddesses that this is enforced.

Its amazing that the ONLY time I showed any sort of 'gender dysphoria' it was when I hit kindergarten and got into 'society' as a little girl. My mum raised me and my siblings as gender neutral. Games, toys, and behaviours weren't gendered. We could do whatever we wanted and it didn't matter.

So when I hit kindergarten and teachers and people started telling me I wasn't allowed to rough house with the boys because I was a girl. That I should wear dresses because they made me look 'cute' and then when I did, they told me I wasn't allowed to run around and play because I was wearing a dress and it wasn't 'proper' as a girl. That I needed to be less rambunctious, that I wasn't allowed because I was a girl.

Yah, no fucking shit I told my mum I wanted to be a boy. I wasn't 'allowed' to do the things I wanted to do and had fun doing because everyone said I was a girl. She told me that my body was what it was and being a tomboy was perfectly fine. So I became a tomboy and everytime someone told me I couldn't do something because I was a girl I responded with 'Im a TOMBOY so I can!'.

EVERYTHING in society is designed to reinforce the gender binary. Its inescapable.

I am so sick of the myth that "men suffer in silence," because the reality is they don't do anything in silence. A man cannot occupy a physical, social or emotional space without expanding to consume it entirely. From manspreading on public transit to demanding the emotional labor of everyone around them, their existence is inherently loud, invasive and deeply entitled. They move through the world expecting the entire room to shift around their comfort, forcing women to literally jump out of the sidewalk just to avoid harassment.

The idea that they are quiet, silent sufferers is a joke when you look at how much room they violently and casually steal every single day. If a man is inconvenienced, the whole world has to hear about it. If he is angry everyone around him has to manage his behavior. They don't suffer in silence. They make their presence, their entitlement and their general audacity everyone else's problem by default, and then expect a medal for "enduring" a world built entirely for them.
