Ren gave the others a nod of acknowledgement as they went their separate ways. It seemed to bring the team together, which was reassuring. Even after what Makoto had done, they were willing to help her. He blinked in surprise at Makoto’s sudden reaction.

“Then we’ll have to do it before that becomes a problem. But I think we can manage that. I mean, we were able to get me out for a month. If they let a “criminal” like me off, they seem more likely to treat their student council president better.” He said, walking with them towards the station.

“That’s a good point. But we shouldn’t get too complacent with that. There’s still things that could cause us to have to move up our deadline.” Morgana stated.

Makoto gave a nod of her head as the girl knew that they only had a certain amount of time before she ran out of excuses and was forced back to the school... That was also not including how the palace and her.... Shadow... would react when they start with the infiltrating the palace.

“I agree that we shouldn’t get too complacent... Considering we don’t exactly know what will happen.” The brown girl sighed before running her hand through her hair. “I’m just hoping that the palace isn’t too complicated.”

A lie, but it came as easily as saying “hello” to someone.

“Do you…want me to leave?” He questioned her yet again, playing with a lock of his hair as he waited for her response.

“Oh I see and that they do.” Makoto nodded, with a small smile, as she sounded surprised. She never heard the other working things out so that he could remain in the city with them.

It made sense however she wondered why Ren didn’t tell her that he did...

“You should give them a little bit more credit... Although I can understand the worry.” A chuckle left the girl before a frown formed on her face.

“No, I don’t... I just... I don’t know how to explain it but... I guess I was confused? I mean I was puzzled how you manage to stay here with us but I didn’t know you works things out so you could stay here...”

Joker nodded and used a GoHo-M, sending them back to the entrance. He then brought up the Meta-Nav and selected to bring them back to the real world.

“So, Leblanc tomorrow after school. Gotcha. See you later!” Ryuji said as he began to walk off, with Yusuke and Haru not far behind.

“You know what Sojiro is gonna think when he sees you two together, right?” Futaba asked.

Ren rubbed the back of his neck. “Yeah, well, he knows about what we do, so explaining that Makoto needs a place to stay for the time being won’t be too hard.” He replied. He turned to Makoto, grey eyes looking at her gently. “Will you be able to go to school? I mean, you’re not in the best condition and…”

Makoto watched as the bright light from the Goho-m swallowed before fading away to reveal that they were back at the entrance then Joker bringing up the Meta-Nav to make them all return to the real world.

“See you guys later!” Ann gave a smile as the blond girl trail after the others; leaving Makoto, Ren, Morgana and Futaba alone... Soon a small sigh left the brown hair girl as she rubbed her face before her face turn to a shade of red when Futaba made her comment.

“W-what...” She spoke before shaking her to clear the thought and answer Ren’s question. “I guess.... I could make some excuse up... However, I won’t able to do it forever.”

“It’s no bother at all, Kurusu-san.” She gave a small smile. “And it doesn’t matter if it’s nothing major... Since I’m free right now.”

“Oh? You wanted to talk to me?” She was surprise that Akechi wanted to talk to her however she simply place her hand in front of her.

“Well, I am free at the current moment so I can spare a few minutes with you... What is it that you want to talk about?”

“Why are you looking at me like that?” It was a simple question as Ren’s red eyes met hers. “You only give me that look when something is wrong. Did something happen?” He set his phone down. Was…did she have suspicions about what he had done? The fact that he never had returned home despite his probation ending well over six months ago might’ve been a hint that there was something at play here.

“Well... I’m not sure...” Makoto mumbled with a small frown on her face as she felt that there was something wrong but she couldn’t exactly place her finger besides how Ren never left Tokyo despite the fact she knew his probation ended a long time ago thus didn’t need to remain in the city.

“I guess I’m surprise that you’re still here considering your probation ended.... Honestly, I thought you would return home by now.”

“Watch your ass Queen!“ Ryuji spits back, his version of ‘I’m glad you aren’t hurt’ He pulls her up, the punk summoning the captain to slash at the shadow. “It’s been effin’ forever since our last safe room, how big is this place anyway?“

There was a small tsk sound which left the brown however she didn’t respond, knowing it was his version of that he was glad she wasn’t hurt, as she allowed him to pull her up from the floor before summoning her own persona to help take down the shadow with a nuclear spell.

“I don’t know however I’m positive that we will come across a safe room soon considering how long it been since the last one.”
