Presentation Day:

On 25th February, we presented our first submission, which focused on comparative mapping and projected implications. All five groups had pinned up their boards by 10:30 AM, preparing for the presentation and discussion session. During the review, we presented our work, received feedback on our analysis and observations, and were guided on how to further develop our ideas for the next submission.

After understanding the island, the question becomes — how do we sensitively make an intervention on the island?

This phase marks the shift from analysis to intervention. Students synthesize all findings to map risk, define strategies, and reimagine the island as a more resilient system.

Through hazard mapping, strategy development, and masterplan outlining, the work transforms into a spatial response — grounded in evidence, but driven by design intent.

Consolidation of spatial and social analysis

Development of comprehensive hazard maps (“Island Under Stress”)

Creation of strategy tables linking problems to interventions

Spatial mapping of proposed solutions and restructuring

Visualization of measurable improvements (before vs after)

A site visit to the dive center included interviews with a professional diver and an individual actively engaged in marine activities. Information was collected on lagoon characteristics, wind conditions, current patterns, water depths, marine biodiversity and dive locations
