Long time no see, Tony
Maybe the most damming thing about Nolans odyssey is i haven’t seen a single gifset from it
genuinely I'm so sick of people wanting all fiction to be ethical. can we all just get a little gross with it. the point of fiction is that it's not real. we can be unethical in fiction; same goes with being perverted with fiction, being unrealistic with fiction, and being grotesque with fiction. not all fiction has to be ethical, not every character has to be ethical, and that's okay. can we stop with the puritanism. be gross. be unrealistic. be whatever. if I don't like it it's not my business as long as we're all clear that its fictional.
via ered.bsky.social, the only kinds of unethical fiction:
people in the replies are going "what about books glorifying unethical things" and "what if it's propaganda" and you, my friends, are who this comic was made for
A reminder that darker fiction has a right to exist and explore themes that people are uncomfortable with. Yes, even if it's romanticized. Yes, even if you personally don't like it.
Authors have always written about things that they don't agree with morally, and I hope to god they always will, despite how shitty people treat them for doing that now.

DJ dubcon hopes everyone in the club is having a good time tonight but he’s not going to check

Avengers: Endgame (2019): A SteveTony Event Only
“Dum-E?” Steve questions when he sees the bot makes his way towards him. He would be surprised if he didn’t already know that Tony had modified his robot children so they could move beyond the workshop. He smiles when Dum-E moves towards him and tenderly pats the bot’s struct.
Dum-E whirls in happiness before letting out a beep of concern. Steve understands immediately and closes his sketchbook so he can get up from the kitchen table.
“Dad is asleep at the worktable again?” He asks despite already knowing the answer. He likes to indulge Dum-E though and nods with a fondly tired sigh when Dum-E beeps his affirmation. “How much coffee did he drink before he crashed?”
Steve listens as Dum-E beeps multiple times, pursing his lips in an attempt not to laugh at the amusing display. It’s wonderfully cute though and Steve pats Dum-E’s claw this time which moves to grasps his hand ever so gently.
Whoever says robots can’t be cute are liars.
“Alright.” Steve sighs once more and begins to walk towards the elevator leading to the workshop. “Let’s go get your dad so he can sleep in a real bed for once.” He then smiles. “I’ve missed having my husband to cuddle.”
Dum-E makes a series of noises which sounds like him telling Steve, “I don’t want to know what you and my dad get up to.”
And this time, Steve laughs loudly.
steve: so is tony, like..y’know single?
rhodey, being a little shit bc he can: …why?
steve, suddenly flustered: well, y’know…i’m just kind of-
rhodey:
steve: *walks away*
rhodey trying to deter tony from dating steve (he’s had steve on thin ice) like, “the boy could have jumped out of the plane!! but he didn’t!! he’s kind of an idiot.”
and tony’s like, “but rhodey, that’s part of why i love him! he’s so smart but such a dumbass!”
I just think they’re neat.
(Tattoo AU where Tony survives and he and Steve retire after Endgame. No one dies. No one goes back to the past. They gradually fall in love, get married, and step away from public superheroing to raise their kids and train the new Avengers.)
Steve version + Tony version (without text)
“…Do I want to know what’s happening here?” Natasha asks, pausing by the living room’s door frame to take in the sight in front of her. There’s no immediate explanation as Steve simply looks in her direction, his hands placed on his hips with Tony’s arms wrapped around his waist.
There’re some concerning grunts coming from behind him and Steve pitches forward every so often. Natasha would have suspected something else if it isn’t for the fact that Steve’s expression holds high amusement. He pitches forward again before he’s jerked backwards and a small snort escapes from him.
“Clint questioned Tony’s capability so now he’s trying to prove a point.” Steve informs her and it’s here that Natasha finally realises that what’s going on. She tilts her head a little and sees Tony’s knees bend before they attempt to carry Steve’s weight with his arms. It doesn’t work (for obvious reasons) as Steve is barely lifted off the ground.
Natasha is soon joining Steve as she tries not to laugh herself.
“How dare he—” Tony’s words are cut off with another grunt as he tries to lift Steve again. “—question whether or not I can—” He lets out a short yell as he goes for another attempt and Steve’s shoulders shaking in mirth. “—lift my own husband. It’s absurd.”
Natasha nods solemnly. “He had no right.”
Tony’s head peeks over Steve’s shoulder and his cheeks are flushed, curls all a mess and his mouth parted to draw in air. “Exactly!” He exclaims and Steve raises an eyebrow in Natasha’s direction. An eyebrow raise that says don’t encourage him, he may pull out his back.
Steve allows him to have one more go before he decides it’s enough and carefully removes Tony’s arms from his waist. Natasha then watches, quietly, as Steve softly cups Tony’s face and leans down to kiss those flushed cheeks.
“Listen,” Steve starts. “Clint is an idiot.”
Fair.
“And he obviously doesn’t know how strong you are,” he continues and pecks Tony’s pouting lips. “I mean, you lift heavy stuff in the workshop everyday without my assistance and you have these biceps.” His hands slid down to squeeze at them and Tony lets out a small laugh. “So strong and very much capable so you don’t have to prove anything by carrying me because you carry me in other ways.” He gives a soft smile and Natasha’s heart squeezes in her chest, the moment before her wonderful yet so intimate.
She feels like she’s intruded.
“You lift me up with your love and care and support,” Steve murmurs fondly. “You gave me a home and a family.” His hands go to caress Tony’s cheeks again, thumbs running over the apples of them. “That means way more to me than being able to lift me off the ground. Which you still do in the suit by the way.”
Tony laughs, the sound a little wet but it’s happy, and he looks up at Steve with eyes filled with a love that only Steve can have.
It’s beautiful and Natasha smiles before leaving them be.
how the fuck is that steve rogers is only attractive when he's being smart or when he's the biggest idiot in the galaxy like how's that even FAIR
steve and tony’s petty arguments include the time steve said ‘jif’ instead of ‘gif’ and tony refused to talk to him for five hours before proceeding to go on a rant about why ‘it’s GIF not JIF STEVEN.’
steve: but the guy who created it pronounces it as ‘jif’ tho
tony: *promptly flips a desk*
