Today has been crap and is therefore a very fitting to reflect on some things to tell my 15 year old self. This has been inspired from Carly’s post here:
Follow your passions. Don’t listen to everyone saying you have to go to university. Don’t sit your TEE. Do Voc Ed and embrace your passion for the arts and crafts.  Â
Go on a long overseas holiday and see the world while you are young and free.
Don’t stop playing netball. It might take up your Saturday afternoons but you won’t really study during this time anyway. Your teenage body deals with injury much better than your 27 year old body does.
Don’t give up on love. It might take you 10 years to finally find a man but the wait is worth it.
Don’t EVER get a credit card.
Don’t take your best friend for granted. She will still be there for you 12 years later, despite a whole year of neglect from you and constant lapses in communication.
It does not matter that you are overweight. People will still like you. People will still love you. Work hard to be healthy but if you fail, it does not mean you are a failure.
The crap your friends are giving you if not worth it. Ditch them. Find some new friend. It will not be hard for you. Your self esteem will be very much better for it.
Start standing up for yourself. It will be hard but hopefully you will be a pro by the time you are old enough for it to really matter.
Ask your parents to see a shrink. You know you need to talk to someone. Don't wait another 11 years before trying to get your feelings sorted.
When you go to the premiere of Ten Things I Hate About You, sit in Sally’s seat. Then you will win the signed Heath Ledger poster instead of her.
