sometimes i get into these surges of missing the philippines. i've lived away for +20 years and still I close my eyes and suddenly the morning sun is seeping through the garden and into the room. i hear the sweeping, because my grandma's already on her third task of the day and it's only 7am. i can't tell if i'm 5 yrs old or 22 in the memory... and then i need to be there right now. but i know things are different and that's fine. i miss it regardless.
