24.
Tomorrow I turn 24.
While 23 I…
Adopted an adorable puppy & name him Birch
I sprained my left ankle and then 3 months later sprained my right ankle in the exact same way I injured the first (hopping off the tractor in the indoor arena dirt)
Learned to use tractor with a front end loader
Drank a lot more tea, flavors of choice were: first Chamomile, then Chamomile Lavender, and now Lemon Ginger
Enjoyed oatmeal (honey/beige) colored things
Build a headboard out of free pallets I got from the horse feed suppliers at the barn
Met some awesome people at the dog park, including Birch’s best friend Parker & his owner Cindy (who somehow remembered my birthday and gave me a gift yesterday?!?!)
Went on a road trip to Vermont with Birch & climbed Camel’s Hump with him!
Held baby goats while goat sitting!
Got my nose ring replaced 2(or 3?) times because my puppy snagged his tooth on it and bent it
Started the year as a barn hand, tried going for a job that used my Communications Design degree, it made me feel like my soul was dying, so I left it!
Started agility classes with my puppy
Got a job as an entry level manager at a brand new pet store opening in the next town over (my first day is tomorrow…that is how I will spend most of my birthday)
It was a year of choices, challenges, and growth. The discoveries I have made and the new knowledge I have obtained are priceless. This becoming is beautiful. I didn’t feel beautiful most of this year, but I felt rugged, gentle, & strong. The relationships I’ve formed, treasured, and cherished, the lessons I’ve learned, the adventures I’ve had - all sit dearly in my heart. My hope for this year is that I find my way, that the creator in me grows more each day and that my true power will shine.
Here’s to listening to my emotional guidance, here’s to loving more, living more, and thinking more positive thoughts. Here’s to this fantastic journey I’m on and the wonderful paths I haven’t even stumbled upon yet. Here’s to not having everything figured out…ever - because, I mean, who really does? Here’s to all my hopes, desires, and dreams that are just waiting to become my reality. Here’s to loving myself more, letting myself relax more, and believing in my own abilities more. Here’s to listening to my gut, my intuition, my inner being. Here’s to laughter, joy, fun, and friendship. Here’s to another trip around the sun.
