On the 6th of September at The harp restrung I will be cutting off 20 years worth of hair, donating it and other funds raised for The Little Princess Trust which specialises in making real hair wigs for kids affected by cancer and other illnesses .
Please give as little or as much as you would like to, every penny counts. The real hair wigs the charity provide are free to the children they help. If they supply a wig made from hair donated by people like myself, then this wig costs the charity very little and sometimes absolutely nothing.
If a suitable donated-hair wig cannot be sourced, then they buy in the most appropriate wig for the boy or girl in question, as close as possible to their original hair. The cost to the charity to purchase one wig is on average between £350-£500. Therefore as well as donating my hair, I aim to raise £700 in the aim to be able to pay for two wigs.
The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs free of charge to children and young people up to the age of 24 that have sadly lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses. The Trust relies solely on the efforts of fundraisers. They receive no formal funding. If a suitable donated-hair wig cannot be sourced, then they buy in the most appropriate wig for the boy or girl in question, as close as possible to their original hair.
Come join me and friends at The Harp Restrung in Folkestone on Friday 6th September for drinks, music, laughter, and a drastic hair cut in aid of this fantastic cause!
