maybe 2015? 2016? Damn does life sure fly.  I honestly forgot all about tumblr for the last few years and went on to I guess go make my dreams happen like I had been talking about.  I went off to college for 3 years and got my bachelors degree in dental hygiene which is what i wanted to do since high school.  Well, not necessarily the bachelors degree but that is just how life played itself out.  In the midst of being in school, i gained some weight back that I had lost, got a boyfriend and we’re now living together, and I am working part time at two different dental offices.  I wish I could say that I have been free from the whole mess of depression and anxiety and I would say that most of the time over these last few years, I’ve been good, but this time of year I always struggle.  And you know, you would think that after you go out and live your life in a different place for a few years and grow up some that these things would just go away or you would at least learn how to let it go.  And sometimes, I do.  But I think the main reason I found my way back to my tumblr is just because I feel lonely lately.  I know, how, right? I must work with people all day long! I must have made friends in school/at work! Yes, and yes, well kinda.  I’ve always been shy and maybe that’s my biggest downfall sometimes but I have definitely surfaced anxiety issues these past few years (which, Ill be honest, dental hygiene school was one of the most stressful programs and trying to find a board patient and the whole process probably added to my anxiety/stress/worry) and that has held me back from opening up to people as much as I know I should.  And maybe I’m in my own head a lot of the time too.  I probably am.  But I just feel as though when I’m at work I know how to use my customer service personality from all those years working at grocery stores and there are some patients who I have hit it off with and we chat no problem.  But the other aspect at work is I feel like because I’m only part time I don’t get to make the same connections and friendships with coworkers and everyone around me is just at different points in their life that it’s hard to find someone who I can truly relate to vice versa.  Like I don’t mean that in an asshole way but I’m 25, no kids, no pets because they live with my parents/I’m not allowed animals at our apartment, I have high student loan debt, and my only real best friend lives about an hour and a half away.  The other girls I hang out with are all younger than me, single, and like going out to bars and trying to find guys and dancing/snapchating/instagram.  Me on the other hand is too lame for any of that or maybe just the fact that I have a boyfriend makes me not interested in that stuff.  Like yeah I like to drink but 1) i don’t want patients to see me out like that 2) have a license I need to be mindful of because if I get in trouble I could lose my DH license 3) i’m also not looking to lose my drivers license with a DUI 4) i am not a good dancer and I am not looking for a guy to put me in that awkward situation and 5) I deleted my Facebook and could care less about instagram or snapchat (honestly I barely know how to even use it) so when we hang out and everyone is staring at their phones while I am trying to contribute to the conversation, it just makes it hard and I feel like nobody is listening to what I have to say or cares.  I honestly feel like that a lot.  And with my coworkers, one office I work at is very cliquey and I feel like I can’t talk to anyone about anything because it would get spread around and people make drama out of things that aren't even issues.  And not to mention being told all the time to reschedule patients with so and so, even if they might want to see me again.  So whatever.  All this hopes and dreams has just turned into throwing away money, feeling subpar somedays and good other days, and just trying not to let life shit on me while remembering that adulting sucks and nobody cares except the people really close to us and sadly we don't see them enough to let them in on to our real troubles.  I know that someday this is all going to pass just like all the other hard times, but it’s ironic how I thought everything was going to be perfect and fall into place once I made it here.  And maybe it has, but I guess I didn’t realize the other side that it would bring.  The grass isn’t always greener.
