Humilau City was a long flight from Striaton. It was a testament to Cheren’s improvement that he managed to make the flight with fewer stops than he would have needed just a week earlier. It was a nice place to rest, besides, he needed a break from the house. Being around Hue all the time was tiring.

Leaving the Unfezant to rest on the Pokemon Center, Cheren released his Lillipup, letting the small Pokemon run ahead of him as he walked through the wood. The Lillipup noticed the hair on the waves before Cheren did and, barking, he stopped, glaring at the thing as if it was an enemy, ready to pounce.

Instead, Cheren stepped back to give Marlon more space, giving him a nod. “Hello, Marlon. It has been a while,” he commented, but the Lillipup quickly dashed to Marlon, biting the leg of his pants. “Wait-…! No!” 

"It sure has been, hasn't it, huh dude? It is nice to see you finally decided to spend some of your time off to chill and be tight with the relaxin' atmosphere of this place! Let the chill wash over you, yo!" 

Marlon smiled at him, looking down at his Pokémon. 

"Aw sweet! You brought your friends hmm? Nice to see the--"

"H-hey! Dude- Dude stop it!" He hopped around, carefully trying to shake Lillipup off of his leg.

"Yo Cheren if you don't like me you could have just told me! You didn't have to send your friends after me!"

“I would gladly take some on for you, but most of them have probably already passed through my gym.” She said, giving him a playful wink. “Their just little tympoles looking for new currents to conquer! You should indulge in their aspirations, Marlon.”

“But, I understand what you mean.” She said, a bit more seriously. With a sigh, she looked around at the large crowd of people around them a little . “Sometimes it can get that way here too. I mean with challengers, of course. It’s nice to just get a day to yourself every once in awhile…”

"Yeah, they should have faced you already I guess. Maaaan, this is just really tirin', you know? A man can only take this many people at once."

Marlon joined her as she browsed the crowd around them.  "It's really crowded here. Not sure how you can endure this every day! Could we move to a quiet spot, perhaps? Kinda losin' myself in this sea of people."
