He stared down at his feet as she held onto his arms. “A break.” He nodded, drawing in a deep breath. He looked up, the tears spilling out of his eyes. “You don’t get it. I guess I was wrong.” He told her staring at her, his hear bursting and breaking at the same time. “I love you Ly. I have loved you since before Sho.” He told her, gently pulling his arms away from her. He was struggling with keeping control. His eyes flashing again, that deep blue, emotion overtaking him. He needed to keep it together. He couldn’t let the inner beast take control right now.
It was everything she had ever feared. This. This confrontation. This happening. Ly saw some small chances where his feelings were a little more obvious than other instances. But the banshee had always thought of herself as an overanalytic one. She shouldn’t read too much into it. But she was wrong. Had been for centuries. That was why she kept herself away from Ev, snuffing out any butterfly in the stomach and fast pace of the heart. Refusing to let him go, Ly moved until he had to look at her. “You never said anything.”
All he said and all he was feeling and that was all she had to say. His breathing became more shallow as he attempted to control himself. “Why would I? You always leave and you never said anything to me. You never let anything on, But this time was different. This time you had seemed open and like you wanted the same, And then Sho.” He said shaking his head. “And now, you’re married. So what does it matter? It doesn’t. Please Ly, I can’t watch you again be in love with someone else and not me. I can’t.” He told her.
