Behold, an intro

(I’m so bad at figuring out how tumblr works so advice is welcome. Also wanna be mutuals? How does that work? Do you just ask??)

We go by many names. Online we usually go by Luca, or the Firefly System. Nicknames are welcome

We’re a DID system. We’re trilingual. The body is early 20s. We go by it/they/he pronouns. Everyone has their own pronouns and labels though! I don’t know if we’ll ever get around to doing individual intros, but we do try sign off posts. We really like when someone is interested in us individually so feel free to address any of us specifically, ask anything, etc.

Some of us can talk, and some of us use different forms of AAC.

We also have chronic pain, and a part time mobility aid user. Mobility aids (and every other disability aid) are cool af btw and if you use them you’re super cool and rad as well.

This might change with time, but at the moment we mostly post about DID, spoonie/chronic pain stuff and whatever fandom or interest we’re elbows deep into at the moment. Dimension 20 has been going strong for a few months now, but you might occasionally find other stuff too. We also do art! Maybe we’ll post some at some point!!

Asks are welcome, any kind of interaction is welcome. This is the internet so I won’t remind you to be respectful. If you want to be respectful you already know and if you don’t want to the reminder won’t do much. So yeah lmao

fairly reliably when someone is mean and weird to you on Tumblr, you can look on their blog and all their recent posts will be about how unhappy they are in their interpersonal relationships and/or how frustrated they are that their creative venture hasn't found success. and it's like ohhhhh okay, I get it. you're clawing at other people because you're actively drowning. my sympathies, that sucks, but I'm not a lifeguard so carry on.

it's very frustrating seeing otherwise well-structured posts about media literacy and critical thinking bookended with statements about "nowadays", "nobody has literacy anymore", "this generation is so anti-intellectual", and the like, unquestioningly falling into better past fallacies.

Do we really think the 80s and its Satanic Panic were better at critical thinking? what about the 40s? the Victorian era? societies have always had problems with critical thinking and literacy, because most societies have dealt with propaganda, corrupt leadership, difficulty providing education (due to poverty or discrimination or other issues), and/or people who resist critical thinking (due to privilege or circumstance or what have you). we can criticize media trends without pulling a "well back in the GOOD OLD DAYS" about it.

Conservative beauty standards are back with a vengeance which means it's especially important to go out this summer with bellies out and bodies unshaved. Also be unapologetically disabled with mobility aids and wearable medical devices and stim toys and ear defenders and all that stuff. You need it. People need to see it. Everyone needs to be reminded that life is unquestioningly more enjoyable when you're not living inside an arbitrary set of rules created by people who are offended by all the wrong things.

Googling how to stop sobbing uncontrollably every time my pet bunny lays down next to me because I’m a big scary predator and he’s a prey animal, everything in him is wired to be scared of me yet he lays down next to me and annoys me until I scratch the top of his head and I know that I have managed maybe one of the greatest achievements which is to make another creature feel truly safe around you. And something in me heals a little bit
