🌟 introduction 🌟
hello all! i'm syd, and this is my quote collection blog. i’m a reader, writer and part of a library’s staff. of course, i did not write or compose any of these words and they are appropriately attributed to their authors. i sincerely hope that you feel a desire to read or a reminder of your appreciation for specific books and stories if you come across these quotes! remember that all reading is good reading. yes, even audiobooks and graphic novels, or genres that some people don't consider "good literature". even works by authors who are not good people, objectively or subjectively. the work still has value and can be quotable! i try to keep quotes exact, with their original spelling, words, grammar, and punctuation, as well as consistent formatting, and the correct author and year of publication. please let me know if i make any serious errors, though. obviously, i don't condone all of the actions and feelings expressed in these quotes, they're just meant to make you think and feel, as literature often does. i also don’t always align with the author just because i enjoy or quote their work. also, quotes are out of context! so if you think some important narrative detail is missing from a quote, it probably is. sometimes it's fun when a quote can mean something different out of its context. obviously i do hope that if a quote resonates, one would consider seeking out the full work. i’m open to discussion on themes and characters and all things literary, especially about works that i post quotes from. i’m working on expanding my sources for quotes, and i am very welcome to recommendations. this is great inspiration for my own writing, and a reminder to cherish literature of all different kinds. i hope it gives you a little inspiration too or a moment of connection with a work you like. thanks for visiting 🌷
