NBA Kills Trade Of Chris Paul To Lakers
The blockbuster Chris Paul trade is off, according to ESPN's Marc Stein. Other media outlets have confirmed that the deal is dead.
NBA owners have pushed David Stern to kill a proposed trade that would send Paul to the Lakers from the NBA-owned Hornets.
Owners were irate with Stern during Thursday's Board of Governors meeting.
Hornets' GM Dell Demps received pressure from the NBA to back out of the agreed-upon trade and keep Paul, say sources.
The Rockets were also involved in the trade that was agreed upon in principle. Pau Gasol would have gone to Houston, while Kevin Martin, Luis Scola, Lamar Odom and Goran Dragic were set to be deal to the Hornets.

Houston would presumably acquire one of the big men from the Lakers, as either Andrew Bynum or Pau Gasol would need to be dealt by the Lakers.
The Lakers are trying to acquire Paul while retaining Bynum, according to a source that spoke with Adrian Wojnarowski.
According to Marc J. Spears, the Rockets would send Luis Scola and Kevin Martin along with possible picks to the Hornets.

Knicks Close To $58M Deal For Chandler
The Knicks are nearing completion on a deal with Tyson Chandler worth $58 million over four seasons.
After their efforts to trade for Chris Paul stalled, sources say the Knicks intensified their efforts to sign Chandler.
In order to sign Chandler, the Knicks will need either amnesty or trade Chauncey Billups.
The Warriors were previously in the market for Chandler, but they are all but out of the running.

know anything bout the nets?
Not much. I know that Caron Butler listed the nets as one of his preferred destinations. And that they are trying to pursue Tyson Chandler.
