Make Your Own Pumpkin Spice Latte!
Yeah, I know, you’re tired of hearing about the pumpkin spice latte at Starbucks. You have a few complaints about it ranging from its price to its taste. SO, I’ve come to you with my concoction, which I came up with through looking at online recipes (none of which matched the one I’ve been making for the past 2 days), which is not the SAME as the Starbucks one but it still tastes similar to it, and you can adjust the sweetness to it.
If you bake a lot of fall favorite breads/cookies, you’ll probably have the following ingredients to make pumpkin spice. Or, if you already have store bought pumpkin spice, you can probably use that too. But for those of you who want to make your own pumpkin spice:
Pumpkin Spice Recipe:
3 tbsp ground cinnamon
2 tsp ground ginger
2 tsp ground nutmeg
1.5 tsp ground allspice
1.5 tsp ground cloves
Just mix all of it together and seal it in a jar. It’s great to put into other drinks like hot cocoa, or to throw some into your egg mixture when making French toast.
Most of the versions of the PSL that I’ve read included pumpkin puree, but if you’re like me and you don’t have any, you can still enjoy an easier version of the PSL. I imagine this is less chunky than the recipe that includes pumpkin puree.
Now, here’s my version of the pumpkin spice latte!:
Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe:
0.5 tsp pumpkin spice
2-4 tbsp sugar (this really depends on you and how sweet you want it; I go with 2-3 usually)
milk
freshly brewed coffee
1 tbsp vanilla (optional)
What I like to do is to fill my mug halfway with milk, add the sugar, pumpkin spice, and vanilla, and then microwave it for one minute. Then, I add the coffee (I use instant coffee so I put the instant coffee in, and then add hot water to fill the rest of the mug) until the mug is filled. Mix it all up with a spoon, and your latte is ready!
Since it’s an easy recipe, try it yourself and see if you like it. You can also innovate it and add your tweaks in the reblogs :) Enjoy!
