Checked another national park off the list, lassen volcanic national park. Forest fires gave us some bad air quality and blocked the view, but the beef jerky was good at least.
does anyone else lie in bed and get weirdly excited thinking about the coffee they’re going to drink the next morning
The Leavenworth Times, Kansas, April 30, 1912
“A lot of people say they love running because of how they feel afterward. Not me. Well, I love that, too, but it’s also so much fun while I’m out there.”
—Dick Beardsley
5 miles for my longest run this year. Coming back from an injury takes a lot of patience. I can feel my body wanting to run further and faster, but I gotta play it safe.
Base building is just checking off all my boxes each week. 14 miles this week with 16 on deck for next week. Slowly building up miles. Running is most definitely a crock pot sport.
I want to be my best self and run a lot of miles
I’ve done 3 runs so far this week and my hamstring has given me no pain! I think I’m finally healed???
I’m having a hard time taking it easy with this being my first week back running. I automatically want to jump back in to 5 days of running a week, but I neeeed to build my mileage sloooowly.
Last week I took my students to Science Camp for 4 days. It was exhausting and overwhelming and fun at the same time.
I caught a cold on Friday and I’m still recovering. I lost my voice on Tuesday and it hasn’t quite come back yet.
Since I’ve been sick I haven’t really wanted to drink coffee in the morning. I’ve been drinking tons of green tea with honey and it is honestly kinda life changing?
Really trying to eat whole foods instead of processed stuff... but I got King Egg Roll for dinner tonight. 🤷♀️
I have a very strange relationship with cereal. I'll forget it exists for months at a time, then I remember that not only does it exist, it is one of humanity's perfect foods. Then I'll eat like 4 boxes in one day before some eldritch god takes the knowledge from me again. (Probably for my own good.)
First run back feelings.
