Joyeux anniversaire, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Born on this day in 1864, Lautrec frequently went to Parisian cabarets, where he was inspired to create paintings and lithographs of the singers, dancers, and crowds around him. His work often deals with the provocative nature of cabaret dancing as well as the joie de vivire of nineteenth-century Paris.
