Flashbang bounds over to Toru excitedly.
"Hello! You seem interesting! What's your deal?"
@flashbang-the-cat
"Oh! Hello, I Am Toru! I Glow!" Toru is, in fact, glowing, with a pale, blue-tinged, light all across their form. Which includes its coat and other clothing, strangely. "What Do You Do?"
"Here! Let me show you!"
Flashbang suddenly outshines the sun by almost two dozen times, before returning to her usual black void self.
"I'm Flashbang, by the way, nice to meet you!"
"Woa! That Was Pretty Bright! I Bet I Could Be Brighter Though!" Toru stops moving, and begins to slowly grow in brightness before enveloping basically the whole area in an eye-scorchingly bright blue light.
And then it stops glowing, mostly, and it feels like a cloudy midnight for almost too long, despite it being around noon. "Do You Think That Was Brighter?"
They sit on the floor in front of Toru.
"Maybe! It was definitely very bright! You're very good at glowing!"
"Thank You! You Are Too! How Bright Do You Think We'd Be If We Glowed Together?"
What must be Flashbang's eyes widen in excitement.
"We'd be so bright together! We could probably be seen from the next star system! Wanna find out?"
"Yes! But Last Time I Went All The Way Bright I Got In Trouble For Melting Things! So We Should Do It Somewhere Nobody Will Notice We Melt Things. But Where?" Toru takes up a thinking pose, as they ponder where to be ultra super bright at.
"Huh, that's a good question." Flashbang joins Toru in adopting a pose for thought. "Maybe somewhere out in an empty field?"
"Yeah, But I Don't Think There Are Any Nearby...." Toru's words trail off, as it continues to think. For like three seconds, before they turn slightly and have an idea. "Oh! What About The Roof Of The Big Building? Nobody Goes Up There!"
"Oh, that would work!" They jump up onto their feet. "Let's go there!"
"How Quickly Can You Get There On Your Own? I Could Carry You If It Takes A While!"
"I can get there quick as anything! Wanna race?" She's already getting ready to start running, looking like she'll take off at any moment.
"I'll Win! Three Two One Go!" Toru zips towards the main building, fast as. Well, light. They ascend as they run, slowly climbing through the air. It slams into the side of the building, before quickly darting up.
Flashbang isn't nearly as fast, though it's unclear whether that's due to her holding back or some inherent speed difference. They take a fair bit to reach the top of the building, but Toru isn't left waiting for too long. She sits down again, tail swishing from side to side.
When Flashbang gets there, Toru is pacing, counting the seconds with the waggle of one of its fingers. They stop once she sits down, and exclaims, "Wow You're Fast! Most People Need Me To Go Back So They Can Keep Up! Glow Time?"
"Yeah! Glow time! Let's do this!" If Flashbang had a mouth, it would be wide with an elated smile.
Flashbang bounds over to Toru excitedly.

"I'm Flashbang, by the way, nice to meet you!"
A black void in the shape of a catgirl approaches Daisy with a spring in her step. Despite the lack of a face, it's clear that they're very happy at the moment, and in the mood for some shenanigans. Two glowing white spots sit where the eyes of a human would be, shining bright enough to cast a dim second shadow on everything nearby.
@flashbang-the-cat
Daisy puts on a smile and shines a little brighter to dim those extra shadows.
"Hello there! I don't believe we have been introduced?" She says, putting a hand on her hip.
"You'd be correct, we have not! Call me Flashbang!" The change in their eye shape suggests a shit-eating chaotic grin. "I just thought you looked very pretty and wanted to say hi!"
"Oh, how sweet! Flattery will get you everywhere, dearheart. I'm Daisy, your friendly local Goddess of the Sun!" she fluffs out her wings, just a little.
"You don't look half-bad yourself, though void is a difficult style to pull off. Is there a reason you're called Flashbang?"
"Oh, of course there's a reason! Here, let me show you!"
For just a brief moment, Flashbang shines a little over 23 times brighter than the sun. Had anyone been measuring, the exact number would likely have been of surprising significance to them, but no one was, so the significance goes undiscovered.
"And that's why people call me Flashbang! The nickname is pretty recent, as far as things go, but I like it a lot. It has a nice ring to it, y'know?"
The brightness does not blind nor harm Daisy at all, but she cannot help but feel... offended.
"Wow! That was very bright! I could probably burn that bright too, y'know, but it would boil the oceans off, so it's probably best I don't. Would shorten my star's life cycle too."
"Oh, you're the star of this system? That's so cool!"
Flashbang takes a seat on the floor.
"What's it like?"
"Very warm, mostly," she grins. "At least, that's what I assume, compared to being anything else. And, it's a little less literal than that... I am the star's steward, its guardian. Not literally the Sun itself. But, it's condition has an affect on mine and vise versa..."
"Oh, that's very cool! You must have quite a sunny disposition!" She winks at her, looking very proud of herself.
"Why yes, I do!" She winks back. "After all, any disposition I had would be the one most accurately described as sunny. But also, what is not to be happy about? I have a lovely wife, a beautiful home, devoted followers, one of my temples runs an on-site spa, which is absolutely delightful..."
"Yeah! There's so much to be happy about in life! Life is so beautiful and full of joy!"
They start swaying from side to side, contentedly.
"I am so glad you agree," she says. "Now, this is rather abrupt, but... What are you, exactly? Certainly not human, so what manner of person are you?"
"I'm me! My true nature is incompressible to conscious minds, including my own! Anything capable of recognising my existence is fundamentally incapable of understanding it, which also applies to me!"
They just sit there, seeming more content than before.
"Huh." She stares at Flashbang for a few moments. "Who told you that?"
"No one did! It's just something that I know innately!" They sound almost smug with that statement.
"Well alright then," she shrugs. "I was on my way to poke a bear, wanna come?"
"Ooh! That sounds fun! I'm in!" She shoots back up onto her feet.
"Excellent, follow me," she grins and begins walking towards the nearest forest.
Flashbang just daintily skips along behind her, humming what sounds like a random sequence of notes.
The two take a fairly leisurely pace through the woods, sometimes stopping to admire a flower, or bird, or bug, or anything else somewhat interesting.
These were often placed within sunbeams.
But eventually they make it to a small river, where a lumbering golden bear is busying itself catching fish.
"There are a lot of superhuman hunters in this area," Daisy says, "So I like to give the local wildlife a little extra juice sometimes. And summon entirely new beasts too, though that's a bit draining so I do it less often."
"That makes sense! Challenging the hunters so they can get better at their craft or have more fun hunting! The wildlife here looks super pretty too!"
"I am glad you think so!" Daisy smiles, and her wings spread out in pride. "That particular coloration is a side effect of my interference, grizzlies are usually a little browner. I've blessed her before, and occasionally come by to see if some healing might be in order."
Daisy walks forwards and scratched the bear between the ears. "She rarely needs it though, she tends to keep away from humanoids and hasn't gotten into many scrapes with hunters yet as a result. And, she’s a protected species, so they can't go seeking her out just for fun. I learned that later, after I picked her."
"Aww, that's cute! It's great when things just work out like that!" Her head bobs from side to side as she talks.
"Indeed." Daisy smiles. "Now, she trusts me so I can get close like this, and she might let you too, with me here, but don't do that without me or with any other wild animal. We wouldn't want you getting gored."
"I don't think I can be gored, but maybe I've never tried hard enough." She stays by Daisy and goes back to humming, continuing to bob her head.
"I would recommend against it, pain is not fun. Usually."
She nods and steps back away from the bear. All was well with her today.
"You seem to be in constant motion. It must be nice to be so full of energy... I am also, of course, but in a more literal way which manifests differently."
"Oh, I just have hella ADHD and a good healthy dose of autism lol." Point concluded, she goes back to humming.
"Ah yes, those things. So interesting that people have named them now."
"Yeah, that is cool!! People come up with all sorts of funny names for things!!!" They giggle quietly.
"Yes, but that is not what I meant." She smiles, "They didn’t really have names, for most of humsn history," she says. "Well, the more severe cases, where development of speech is severely delayed, might get a person called slow or some such thing, but mostly there were just... people who had those traits and that was part of their personality."
"I don't pay much attention to history, I leave that to people who have to live with its consequences." Flashbang's demeanor suggests that they would be making a :P face if they had the required hardware.
Daisy flaps her wings once and stretches. "I don't study it or anything," she says, "but I have seen it all first hand, albeit with some memories clearer than others."
"Oh, I was there for a lot of it too, I just don't pay attention." The humming and head bobbing continues. "I just exist in general."
"Fair enough," she says, "I like to people-watch, but I suppose not everyone does. Nor do they have my ability to watch many places at once."
"Yeah, I'm just the one me, I can only see the one place at once, if I'm even looking at all."
"Whereas I can see anything my light touches," she nods. "In past Incarnations I've been considered a an Arbiter of justice because of that. Not right now, though."
"Justice is bullshit anyway, things just happen for whatever reason and punishment is a shit way to deal with anything." She says this with a voice holding all the wisdom of an orange cat.
"Justice doesn't have to just mean punishment," Daisy says, "It can also mean reparations and a changing of the circumstances that lead to the injustice, among other things. But, you do have a point."
"Yay! I have a point! Woo!!" They sound genuinely elated by Daisy's statement.
"I'd wager you even have several," she grins. "How sharp are your teeth?"
"I don't have those, silly! I'm all void!" Flashbang's joyful giggles saturate the air around her as she speaks.

@flashbang-the-cat

@flashbang-the-cat
