Too bad, blonds have more fun. Â If you ever went swimming with me, you might get back some of it in the summer like I do. Why donât we go out to the Hamptons over the weekend, do some surfin and tear it up a bit.
F2F: The Confrontation
Sebastian picked up a fork to test the salmon, ensuring that it was cooked completely and easily flaked. âI donât remember, but you seem to be pulling out all the stops tonightâ he arched an amused eyebrow watching his friend take out the china and candlesticks. Sebastian transferred the salmon onto two plates before glazing it with the bourbon sauce he had prepared earlier. âIs this what a date is like? If I had known you were such a romantic, I would have put on something sexier for dessertâ he joked, sprinkling a teaspoon of green onions and sesame seeds on the salmon.
âYes, Brainless, this is what a date is likeâŠâ Hunter teased mildly as he placed the candlesticks down.  âA fourth or fifth dateâŠthough Iâm obviously no expert eitherâŠâ He thought of his dates with Marley recently, which had disintegrated into Marley cooking while Hunter did work at the kitchen table until the food was ready, which they usually ate in front of the television. But Hunter again didnât want to bring Marley up, so he continued quickly as went to a drawer for a box of matches, linen napkins and napkin rings. âYou changing outfits for every course?  And you had whatâŠa turtleneck planned for dessert?â he chuckled.  âWhat is for dessert, anyway?â he said after he lit the candles and put the napkins down, moving toward the oven and peering through the glass to see what might be inside.
F2F: The Confrontation
Sebastian couldnât help the way his lips quirked up into a smile upon hearing Hunterâs laugh. âIt hardly matters how old she is, she will always be my baby sisterâ he explained, scrunching up his nose when Hunter called Marley a grown woman. Sebastian let the pair of muscular arms guide his waist, instinctively leaning into the gentle touch. He too had missed this physical intimacy that he was so used to sharing with the other man. Sebastian relaxed against Hunter, briefly nuzzling his face into the gape of the other manâs neck before pulling away so Hunter could prop his chin on Sebastianâs shoulder. âHow am I supposed to hurry up when you keep distracting me?â he questioned, elbowing his friend playfully in the chest to nudge him away. âYou can take out the plates and pick out a nice wine for us in the meantimeâ Sebastian suggested, turning back to his dish at hand.
Hunter smiled fondly at Sebastian as he somewhat reluctantly moved away, missing the heat of his best friendâs body immediately, but not choosing to dwell on it in favor of focusing on setting the table.  He pulled the Wedgewood china out and chuckled as he set them out, moving back to the pantry for some candlesticks he had spotted.  He might as well go the whole nine yards in a welcome home dinner for Sebastian - his roommate had been through so much in Paris, after all...âWhenâs the last time we ate from anything but take-out or deli  boxes?  â
F2F: The Confrontation
Sebastian leaned into the other manâs touch, comforted by his friendâs simple gesture and words. Indeed, it was good to be home. But home wasnât this cold and lifeless apartment, it was having Hunter by his side that he had missed. Instead of responding, Sebastian simply offered the other man a small smile in return before taking the the brown take-out bag from him. âLook, Iâm not stoked about you dating my sister, but youâre both adults and you should be able to make your own decisions without me interferingâ he spoke in a rather a decided manner, not giving Hunter a chance to interject. Turning away from his friend, he stepped towards the fridge to put away the contents of the bag. âI do have some rules thoughâ One, if you defile my baby sister in any manner under my roof, I will throw all your shit out the window. And two, if you hurt Marley, I will cut off your balls in your sleep, poach them, and serve them to you as eggs benedict in the morning, understood?â
After Sebastian began to speak, Hunter felt relief mixed with disappointment, it was incredibly confusing.  He decided to focus on the relief, he had to, it had been too long since heâd felt anything remotely positive about Sebastian and heâd missed it desperately, if he were to be honest.  At last his friend was relenting accepting Hunterâs relationship with Marley...maybe he had just needed time, maybe he had spoken to his mother about it - whatever it was, Hunter would take it.  But then Sebastian was being his typical self of course and it made Hunter chuckle, which felt really good, to laugh with Sebastian again was something heâd missed more than anything...well almost anything. âUnderstood,â he said with an indulgent smile.  âThough I think your first problem with all this continuing to call Marley your baby sister.  Sheâs a grown woman now...â he moved to playfully guide Sebastian by the waist back to the stove.  âHurry up and finish, Iâm hungry,â he said, leaning against the counter next to the stove, unconsciously crowding Sebastian and finding comfort in the physical intimacy they used to share.  Hunter didnât want to dwell on Marley though, he would take this win.  He propped his chin on Sebastianâs shoulder and sniffed again.  âIs it almost done?â

flawless-smythe: Sebastian moved to measure and pour a tablespoon of fresh lime juice, sprinkling it on the contents of the pan before glancing back at Hunter. He offered him a small smile when the other man welcomed him home, trying to convey that he was doing better now. Sebastian was exhausted from working all day, catching up on the paperwork he had missed during his trip to Paris. He didnât have it in him to keep giving Hunter a cold shoulder when he really needed the other man by his side.
âItâs bourbon-glazed salmon with brown rice and sauteed broccoliâ he answered, picking up the respective lids to give Hunter a peek at the dishes. âI know itâs not beef, but it kinda looks like steak and itâs healthy, so I thought you might like itâ he explained, lowering the heat from high to medium.
Hunter felt his chest relax a bit when it became clear that Sebastian was as tired as he was, and was no longer hell bent on being pissed at him. He came over when Sebastian lifted the lids, the aroma was heavenly and Hunter felt like he was home.  It wasnât just the food, he realized.  Sebastianâs absence from the apartment had been unbearable, especially given how worried Hunter had been about him. Hunter had stayed at Marleyâs tiny, much less comfortable apartment most nights as a result.  He placed a tentative hand on Sebastianâs shoulder and spoke quietly and calmly, feeling peace flood him at the feeling of Sebastianâs warmth at his fingertips.  âItâsâŠthanks for doing this.  ItâsâŠitâs good to have you home.â
F2F: The Confrontation
[ Sebastian was hunched over a pan, stirrer in hand and nose-deep in a cooking book when he looked up at the sound of the front door open, signalling Hunterâs arrival. This was quite an unusual sight as between him and Hunter they rarely ever cooked in the apartment.
It wasnât because Sebastian didnât know how to cookâ in fact, he was a great cookâ he just didnât have the time or interest to do it. However, this had recently changed as during his trip to Paris, Sebastian had taken on the responsibility of making all of Nicolaâs meals. He had claimed he didnât trust the woman they had hired to do it correctly, even though she had given him no reason to do so. Sebastian had spent a great amount of time looking up healthy snacks and vegetables with antioxidant properties in the hopes that they would aid in Nicolaâs treatment. Now that he was back in his and Hunterâs apartment, Sebastian needed something to focus his attention on and cooking seemed to be the perfect outlet. ]
Hunter came home looking tired. Â It had been a hectic day and Sebastianâs texts had him feeling very uneasy, though it was paired with at least some sense of relief that Sebastian at least was not so high that he could work and that Sebastianâs mother was doing better. Â Hunter also had Marley to worry about, who seemed a bit hurt that Sebastian hadnât talked to her much. Â They were really like siblings, and if Sebastian couldnât bless them as a couple Hunter wondered if he would be able to maintain a relationship with Marley at all.
He pushed open the door, his briefcase slung over one shoulder and a brown paper bag with takeout deli in the other hand. Â He was greeted with incredible smells and was surprised to see Sebastian at the stove. Â
âHey...â Hunter said tentatively, putting his briefcase down by the door and coming over, unsure what mood Sebastian would be in. Â He was too tired to fight anymore. Â He leaned on the kitchen island, keeping his distance until he could gauge how Sebastian was doing. Â âWelcome Home. What are you cooking?â
The Inner Workings of Sebastian
Everything in Sebastianâs life was falling apart and he hated not being able to do anything about it. He hated that he couldnât help mere, he hated that he couldnât stand being in the same room as Adrien, he hated that the first time he had gotten emotionally attached was to his straight best friend, he hated that he couldnât get himself to be happy for Marleyâ and most of all, he hated that he had used again. When Sebastian had first decided to quit, he had not reached out for help as it was a way to prove to himself that he could do it on his own. And now? If he couldnât even keep clean, how could he be trusted to do anything else? It made everything all the more bleak. He was suffering from a classic case of the abstinence violation effect and it was taking everything in him to keep this lapse from turning into a total relapse.
He couldnât forgive himself, but he could try to forget about it, right? Just like he could forget about Hunter and Marley? In the office this was easy, a lot of work had piled up during his leave and Sebastian was buried knees deep in paperwork all day. Although he didnât go out of his way to avoid either of the two, he didnât bother to mention he was back either. Sebastian wanted to stay back to finish more of his work but Quinn and Santana had practically shooed him out of the office at 6pm, stating that he was probably jet-lagged and needed his rest. Sebastian tried to resist, but to no avail as he was soon enough sent home by the duo.Â
Now the apartment was a whole other story seeing as there was no real way for Sebastian to avoid his problems there.

Hunter: It doesn't revolve around me but I've been waiting for you to get some shit done it would have been nice to get a fucking heads up from my supposed best friend that you were back.
Hunter: My face is plenty pretty enough and you missed it, admit it. :P
Hunter: [unsent] Marley says she hasn't seen you, either
Hunter: That's good. Is she home now?
Sebastian: Why do you care? [unsent]
Sebastian: It may be pretty, but Sam's is prettier. I'll have him pick up the papers when I'm done to give to you.

Sebastian: Sorry, I don't do straight.
Sebastian: Get off your damn high horse, not everyone's world revolves around Mr. Hunter Clarington Extraordinaire.
Sebastian: I wasn't "hiding" from you, or anyone else for that matter. If you didn't see meâ well, it's a big building and your face isn't pretty enough for me to drop all my work to chase after it.
Sebastian: Doctors say she's doing better.
Hunter: Well at least you weren't high at work. Tell me you aren't using again

Sebastian: Of course you don't see the fucking problem.
Hunter: can you be straight with me for once in your fucking life and tell me what your problem is
