Komova and her coach are hoping that her first international appearance will be Euros 2015. Komova is upset that she can’t make it to Worlds now, but she understands that it is for the best interest of the team. If she goes now, it is a risk for her health and the team.

Oh and just as a bonus Aliya is now in Top 20 Most Decorated Gymnasts at the World Championships (gymnasts with more than 8 medals), a list which includes Sveta Khorkina, Larisa Latinyna, Vera Caslavska, Lavinia Milosovici, Daniela Silivas, Gina Gogean, Shannon Miller and many other great names in gymnastics history.

Quick note: Aliya got 8 medals after participating in only 2 World Championships, one of which included a team all-around competition.
