the only person kaoru has ever dropped her act around is chisato- not even her own band members. she’s one of the few characters i can think of who isn’t as close with her band members than she is with another character.

does she care about them? yes. clearly, she loves all four (five?) of them dearly and wants to support them. but she’s not close to them yet, she’s not ready to be vulnerable with them.

that’s what i love about these events, is that they aren’t self-contained. the recent event on EN was jumping off the back of the tanazaku event- meaning there is character development! i really hope we get to see kaoru be vulnerable with the other members of hello happy world soon.
