How should a new artist on Tumblr get their art more recognized?
draw a lot, use tags so that people can find you, and if you draw fanart, you will most probably succeed even with ugly stuff ;D (based on my own experience)
Vote for me please?
Sooo I recently entered a slovak literature competition (with comic about forgetting about childhood) and I WAS SELECTED FOR THE FINAL ROUND!!! If you would please be so kind and vote (a.k.a. rate 5 stars) I would be forever thankful

If you don't mind me asking, do you have any tips for doing a painterly style for a beginner? Also I absolutely adore your art!
well first of all, you need to draw a lot and push yourself into uncomfortable stuff. My painerly style has been developing for about 2-3 years now andim still not happy with it, so you need to expect that it will take time and a lot of practiceAlso, if you intend to do lineless painterly style, you need to take contrast into consideration - make the picture black and white and see if there’s a lot of difference between the greys, if not, fix itThere are many ways to paint, like what kind of brushes/software you use. Experiment! I started with manga studio, switched to photoshop, switched to sai and then switched to photoshop again. I also experimented with brushes too. Find things you like! Also paper textures are great, i like the effect it does on my drawings when i set the texture layer to soft light. I highly reccomend experimenting and trying out things until you find whats best for youHope it helped? idk i might do a tutorial at some point in my life to make things clearer xD
Commission I did over FA. Very enjoyable, i must admit ^^
1000 FOLLOWERS WHAT??!!!

Ahaha its called cartoonization! I can alter the universal laws of physics by using the power of art MUHAHAHAHA (i cant anathomy thats why xD)
Howd you learn to draw backgrounds so well? Do you have any tips?
Im still having a lots to learn but sure i can share my ultimate knowledge xD
1st ULTIMATE TIP:Draw backgrounds. I used to be scared of backgrounds and did transparent only. But one day i decided to challenge myself and started to draw backgrounds. A lot of them. Since then, I try to make 90% of my art with backgrounds and learning just comes naturally. If youre scared of backgrounds, challenge yourself.2nd TIP:
fing artworks that you like and try to analyze them. What makes them look so good? find the things you like and try to apply them to your art.
3rd TIP:
Composition, color and perspective. These things sound unimportant but they are very important. I watched hours of videos about compositioning and making good color palletes. Also learning perspective will help you to make your artwork look more real. So go to youtube and search for some educational videos, and then apply what you learnt to your drawings.4th TIP:Think of the picture as of foreground, midground and background. It will help you to make the scene look deep if all of the three elements are present.
5th TIP:
Its more of a personal preference but... use references and textures. References will help you make the art better and at the same time you learn something new. Textures are more of a time-saver, as my style of doing things requires huge amount of time. I have a tree trunk, i put texture of tree bark over it, set the layer to soft light, experiment until it looks right and then later paint over it.
PROTIP:
CONTRAST. The ultimate rule of the universe. Without contrast, the objects will all look faded and dull. Sometimes make your picture black and white and check where is too little difference between grey and grey. It helps a ton. To adjust contrast, I use (in photoshop- Image>adjustmants) levels adjustment, selective color, and brightness/contrast
Yeah and most importantly, you need to draw a lot. Open commissions, its the best thing to do, as you are forced to sometimes get out of your comfort zone but you feel the pressure of “must make it good” as you are actually paid. I draw full BG for 2 years now. And I started to love it so much, I feel uncomfortable drawing transparents :D
