I get that we all want to defend mj from these horrible comments and narratives a*rmys keep creating and that it’s hard to see a woman being dragged, one that we care so much about at that, without clapping back, but this back and forth of arguing over one of them stalking or being obsessed with the other seems to spread the rumor more, plus it makes us look as crazy as them and to people outside this situation it just looks like both fandoms are creating crazy scenarios instead of admitting that maybe they just had something
Reporting and putting up community notes while not responding to their insane bullshit is probably our best bet (this way we can still debunk false info they spread about her) and it did seem like it was working before this week, things had calmed down a bit and they were talking less, at least there were way less tweets making into my tl…fighting with these people will never work, at this point they are a real life cult, no sugarcoating
I do hope mj keeps liking whatever she wants on insta and they can keep seething😙 You would think her being the one to sue over defamation of her character and reputation, sexual harassment and deepfakes/invasion of privacy a week after all of this blew up would be enough for them to get off her, but the truth is that even if SM had put up a note denying the rumor they would still be making her life hell, all they want is a crumb of reason so they can pretend their hatred of women is justified, all to defend their 30yr old babies from these scary scary women in the industry
I honestly agree, and despite the angry anons that come here from time to time to accuse us shippers of not defending mj against their bs, i really think qrting them and engaging in endless fights is ridiculous. They don’t care for the truth so threads debunking evidence directing at them are pointless. They’re good for stating what happened (or what we think happened anyways) but none of those purple freaks are gonna stop their harassment towards mj bc they suddenly realized they’ve been fed false information.
So yes, reporting, blocking, rating community notes are the best way to fight against their smear campaigns. It’s the smartest way to go about this while we hope mj and sm are still working behind the scenes to make sure these people get what they deserve.
However, I couldn’t care less what people outside the fandom think bc of our arguing or debunking threads, if they think we are delusional and refusing to accept the truth. They were also the ones getting viral tweets out of ridiculing mj in December, saying how shameless and dumb she was for “wearing her bf’s clothes to work” or “getting a matching tattoo with him”. So as far as im concerned, they can suck it. The people that believed / believe it and are respectful about it, i don’t mind. I obviously dont and think the evidence is bs, but it’s a free country. But the ones that used mj as an easy target to get some jokes and add to the massive harassment and bullying can choke for all i care.
I think the sad reality of this is that it will be forever dormant, and you never know what’s gonna trigger it to wake up again. I honestly never expected mj liking a viral post that so many other people have liked would cause all of this, (they truly have deluded themselves into thinking she stalks him and liked it bc he reposted😑) but here we are. So yeah, things were better and now they’re not; they will go back to being calmer eventually, and then at some point, they will go crazy again. It’s a perpetual crux that i see no end to, so i guess the thicker skin we develop the better. We will see if mj and sm think of sth different to placate and deal these outbursts of hate or not, it’s really out of our hands but let’s keep the good work and continue sending mj lots of love🩷
