19 miles each way... Too far to commute??
Never!!! Nothing is too far! No mountain is too high! No weather is too wet!
this florida weather is so fucking bonkers and i shouldn't complain because we really can ride year-round and i know some of you have like blizzards and shit but its 80 here on the week days and down to 30 all weekend and it's been doing that for over a month and its really just confusing

BEHIND YOU | СЗАДИ!
haha my car broke down again so it's back to mandatory every-day-commuting with a huge cargo for me! plus its gorgeous out anyway.
Everyone, I’d like you to meet Katie =D
ITS SO GORGEOUS im so excited do you love it?
HELLO FRIENDS, MY MOST SINCERE APOLOGIES FOR MY EXCESSIVE ABSENCE. LIFE HAS BITEN ME IN THE ASS LIKE A MOSQUITO ON THE FOURTH OF JULY AND SHIT SO YEA. STILL ALIVE. PROMISE.
This is a #fact in Maine!
Whole I promote year-round cycling, I admit that there’s an element of truth to this.
I came to love the 100 degree days of summer but I can’t do anything below 40 anymore
to be fair, cycling in 107 with 90% humidity isn't bad until you... stop.
I probably laughed a little to hard at this pivot add haha
You Don’t Have to Be Superhuman to Commute by Bicycle
These are people who travel many miles at a pace more like 10 miles an hour. They wear regular clothes and ride the bikes that they can afford.
But everyone who bikes in New York or any other city has certain things in common. The Type-A strivers on their carbon-fiber steeds; the skinny-jeans-wearing fixie riders; the elevator repairman in work clothes on his anonymous hybrid; the fashionable businesswoman on her folder; the 82-year-old photographer on his cruiser. All of them benefit from an increased recognition that bicycles are a legitimate way to get from one place to another, and that you don’t have to be some kind of a freak to use them.

YEAH! Just last week I bought a super cute beach cruiser off Craiglist and as soon as it warms up enough, I’m parking the car and grabbing the handlebars (plus it’s got a basket for my dog, Alex). — tanya b.

yes.
i've decided officially that i'm not going to allow myself to buy a new road bike until i do a full century on the elance. with my last (ridiculous) semester of school happening and work all the time, it's going to be a while before i get back up to the point where i can do a century. i really want to do it by the time the tour de cure rolls around, but realistically i don't see it happening. it's really unbearably frustrating not having a ton of time to ride- the only time i ever get to ride is late at night or really early (3am) in the morning and where i live, it's not safe to ride alone at night so it usually doesn't happen.
my brother bought me william fotheringham's Cyclopedia and i got it in the mail yesterday, along with a ton of guilt because i want to go ride more than anything and there's just no time right now. when life hits, it hits hard. after this semester the century training begins again officially, until then this will be tacked up on my wall:
tandem bike things i have to decide on:
-buy my brother and his fiance a tandem for their wedding
-build my brother and his fiance a tandem for their wedding
-buy a tandem frame for my brother and his fiance so they can build it after their wedding
-if i buy/build one do i decorate it for the wedding and put a 'just married' sign on it
-if i do that do i tell them first so they dont hire a limo driver or do i just sneak it in
-do i buy them matching helmets
-do the helmets have 'just married' signs on them
-how the hell do i get a tandem bike from florida to massachusetts ?
