Intro Post!

Hello! I'm a 24-year-old artist. I created this blog because I really like the fooglies from Spy Kids. That's it. Really.

What is this?:

On this blog, I plan on expanding on the concept of the fictional show "Floop's Fooglies," as if it were a real children's show. This is an AU with some themes of trauma and horror. In my mind, Floop's Fooglies is the OG mascot horror, before that was even a distinct genre of media. I like the idea of mascot horror from the mascot's point of view, and Floop's Fooglies fully plays into that idea. All horror and trauma posts will be tagged accordingly. I want to explore emotions and concepts through my work. Everything here is experimental. It won't all be canon-compliant. There will be art, writing, and hopefully animation. You don't need to be a fan of Spy Kids to enjoy this blog, hopefully.

Fooglie Introduction #3 Tall & Skinny

I love Tall & Skinny so much, he's my second favorite fooglie! He was such a pain to redesign and draw, oh my goodness. His face was the struggle. Its such an odd shape and his handprint-shaped cheeks only made it harder. I decided to turn his jester hat into a full cowl into a full jester cowl, so that his head shape could be the same, while being easier to draw. His arms probably aren't long enough in this drawing, but I needed to make sure he'd fit on the canvas. Thank you to @spy-flair-extraordinaire for the floppy limbs suggestion. :) Worth noting, I think its interesting that he's the only fooglie who isn't smiling in the movie. I wonder if there's a reason for that.

Tall & Skinny?

Uh... so I've had a rough time re-designing Tall & Skinny. Its been a struggle figuring out how to stylize him to fit with my skill level while still being recognizable. He's held up the entire project and is why there haven't been anymore art posts for a while. What do you think? Is he good enough? Suggestions?

Hey so... does anyone else out there have a real interest in fooglies? (Yes from Spy Kids) They are one of my special interests and I'd like to talk to anyone who is also interested in them. I've been having a hard time lately and it just would be nice to interact with someone who shares an interest. So, if you'd like to chat, rp, make ocs together, or just whatever please message me. Update...

So...there isn't going to be a Fooglie introduction post tomorrow. I've been having trouble drawing the last two, so I'm a bit behind. But don't worry, more is still coming, something NEW actually. However, I might post some headcanons or plot synopsis ideas for the show tomorrow instead, so keep and eye out of that!

Fooglie Introduction #2 Flower

I'm back at it again with another Fooglie Redesign! This one is quite a bit different than the last, as the 'redesign' aspect is more obvious this time, most evident in the fact that Flower now has 4 legs instead of 2. Why? I wanted to further embrace the 'flower' aspect but having his body be a planter. Is he sitting in a four-legged planter, or is the plant pot his body? Who knows... Also, I gave him teeth resembling that of a Chinese Guardian Lion, because their expressions look very similar to his facial expression.

Also worth noting, the castle mentioned in the bio is referring to the castle within the universe of the show itself, and not Floop's real castle, which is surrounded by water, of course. I headcanon that in the show, the castle is on an island. :)

P.S. There's a hidden code. Can you find it? What is it for? You'll see...

Fooglie Introduction #1: Too Too

She do bring stretch :) I had a fun time redesigning her. Obviously, I went in a much cuter direction than in the movie, but hyper realism isn't really my thing so I just went with it, I guess, lol. I gave Too Too ballet shoes instead of jester shoes, to further embrace the dancer look and give her a unique visual identity. Other changes include giving her a curly lock of hair and making her sleep cap a lot longer and droopier because I thought it would be fun. Also gave her a stuffed toy to carry around. All of the Fooglies will have an item :).
