one day imma talk about .. ivy + why her cell at arkham never has any windows (hint, she’s more plant than person).

#ooc. tbt.#tbh having her without a window is ... it hurts her .. not even like ability wise.#it's like ... imagine.. being in a space with a Limited amount of air.

fun fact that ivy is constantly in a state of grief for flora + that constant grief is a primary motivation for her havoc. she is constantly in the midst of feeling pain for what flora has been destroyed, constantly feeling anger + sadness towards flora / the earth itself. she is constantly wanting vengeance against those who ruin the earth –– essentially, the one thing she truly loves the most, the one obsession that’s driven her to these lengths.

#i love her so much bc she cares Too Deeply about one thing and that's the flora around her ?? all she wants is to be left alone and for #plants to be left alone but that's never going to happen.. so she keeps coming back to gotham (the place she literally hates) to #wreak havoc and kill those who have killed - i guess - pieces of herself.#she does not give a Fuck about mankind. she only cares about flora.#everything she does is revenge for the earth.#she plays judge jury and executioner for all of mankind. if it only means justice for the earth.

ivy’s intentions are not Inherently Evil. she is doing what she believes is Good for the earth, and it so happens to be done along the lines of ecoterrorism + extreme advocacy. in fact, in her mind humanity is the evil that is destroying the goodness that is the earth.

#i'm reading metaethics As I Do .. without going deep into kant.#meta-ethics is basically.. the Study of good and evi..#evil*#values come into this .. heavy ...#like . there's different types of values : relative and absolute values. while relative values differ from person / culture to person/#culture... absoulte values #absolute values are Philosophically Absolute (aka #independent of cultural or personal views).#intrinsic value (something i think everyone's heard before...#is basically that an end is good if it is ''right'' in itself...#i was going somewhere with this .. ivy's actions... i have to do a whole. Evil Thing ™ for her #bc it's so deep in her .. antiheroes are so good w/ metaethics ..#i want to explore Moral Value with ivy .. i need to explore morals w/ ivy .. and the intrinsicness of her work and her actions...#are her actions ''right'' in itself ... if they help .. if //she// want to do Right by what she believes #is an absolute value (the earth)

reminder that ivy can literally feel pain when the earth (plants, trees, not .. soil..) is destroyed. reminder that her skin - her touch - is toxic, though she can alter the level of toxicity. reminder that she is green but she can alter her skin tone through the level of poisons running under her skin.
