You let out a breath you didn't even know you were holding as you flopped backwards onto the soft grass. You closed your eyes and listened to the various sounds around you. People yelling as they streamed out of the nearby school building, birds chirping and frogs croaking in the creek just beside her, cats and dogs running across the way in a yard. You feel a sense of peace and solitude. A feeling enhanced as you overhear a conversation between your brother and someone else. Another low voice.

Did you bring anything along with you?

I didn’t have time to grab anything. The change happened without warning.

I wish I could go back and bring it all.

I’m doing well hun! Just trying to get readjusted to everything, its a bit exhausting to say the least. Don’t worry about me.

hey what are you gonna do now that the library's super broken?

I mean... it was important as a whole, but it really mattered to other people more than me. It's a bit of a bummer that our central meeting spot it gone though, and many of the memories too. I think we just have to learn to live without it.
