people are absolutely EVIL about the boundaries of âpicky eatersâ. no, they do not have to try it. yes, they can know they donât like it without having eaten it before. no, they probably have not suddenly grown a taste for the food theyâve said they hate. no, they probably are not going to like it in the Special Way This One Place Cooks It. yes, you are being a bad friend if you try to âtrickâ them into eating it anyway
Things that actually help picky eaters try new things:
âDo you want to try this off of my plate?â
âItâs made of [ingredients], I think youâd like [x part]â
âIf you want to see if you like [x food], this is pretty good representation of itâ
âYou wonât like this, it tastes like [description]. Do you want to try it for fun?â
âDo you remember trying/have you ever tried [x food]? This is like that, but [differences]â
âI think youâd like the taste of this, but the texture is iffy. Itâs [description]â
Make sure thereâs other food they can eat if they donât like the new one
And most importantly, build trust with that person by listening to them, showing that you take their concerns into account, and being cool if the answer is no. No is always an option. This isnât something you do once, itâs a pattern you have to stick to if you want to establish that you are a safe person when it comes to food stuff
Basically: offer the food, explain whatâs in it and why you think itâs worth trying, and then be cool with the answer you get. No pressure, no trickery, just be straight up with people
Also as a picky eater, being able to smell a food helps me decide if I want to try tasting it.
hot take: hrt, gender therapy and trans surgeries should be free
if cis people donât have to pay to have a body that doesnât make them dysphoric, neither should trans people
So by that logic does that mean that I should get anti-depressants and all the other pills for my mental issues for free because the people who donât suffer from them donât have to pay to have them?
And does that mean that corrective lenses should also be free, because people with good vision donât need to pay to see clearly, and that devices to aid in mobility for people with limited mobility (from crutches to (practical) canes to wheelchairs to prosthetics) should also be free, because people who donât have limited mobility donât need to pay for them?
yes? why does everyone in the notes keep trying to come up with gotchas lmao everything to do with healthcare should be free
Then by that logic, healthy food and clean water should be free because without food and water we will die. Also, without water, hygiene will be minimal therefore increasing the chances of disease.
Yes. People should have access to a healthy happy life and the whole point of a society is to support eachother and work together. how brainwashed by capitalism are you to think food and water shouldnât be free in an ideal world.
this post is such a wild ride every time. âso by this logic, people should have free access to the things they need to live and survive?????????â like yes bitch, all of it !!!
yall see âloveâ and immediately go to âromantic loveâ if you translate âlove is the whole pointâ to âromantic love is the whole pointâ you need to rethink everything because love is found in everything. in community, in friendships, in family, in food, in nature so actually love is the whole point and u can die mad about it. hope this helps <3
supernatural said. meet Sam Winchester, a man who wants to believe in God so desperately despite all of the horrorshows he knows so intimately, who prays every night to a divine being who never answers, whose blood knows the devil better than it knows himself. whose faith fades over the years as he realizes that the God he knew was a sadistic puppetmaster, a man who instead puts faith in his brother in order to help him break those pinnochio strings. who had his trust broken by that very God over and over but it never ever made him unkind.
and it was that innate, stubborn kindness that allowed him to raise a new God in his image, and that came with the realization that divinity was always within him, not without him. God has always existed inside Sam.
yknow whats fucked up. sam thinks so low of himself he says it all the time and like. people just dont make any real effort to tell him ofherwise. that hes not the least member of the team, that his life isnt worthless, that hes more than the ways he can throw himself towards death like yes i know self hatred and sacrifice is in the winchester dna but man can someone give my guy a pep talk
i hate two factor authentication i hate needing my phone to use my computer i hate that the computer has become a secondary piece of hardware that is seen as a peripheral to a phone in the eyes of society i donât want to log into anything with my phone i should never ever need an app to do anything on my computer and i should be able to have my phone locked in a safe that iâve dumped into the ocean and still be able to use every single feature of my computer unabatedÂ
just a thought but...
.. Supernatural is good actually. it's a good show. I see lots of posts saying it's a mess, it's so bad, it's a cockroach you can't get rid of, it's a guilty pleasure. you're entitled to your opinion but I think it's reductiveâ and frankly a bit sadâ to see the show as a piece-of-shit media that is only appealing because you can make fun of it, when it has so much more to offer. I unironically think it's a good show. it's not perfect, obviously, you can criticize it plentyâ from lack of diversity to plot holes to slowly deteriorating writingâ and I encourage you to do so actually, because it's healthy to be critical of the media you consume.
but for me those aspects don't undermine the fact that it's a good show : it's interesting, it's entertaining, it's a mix of several genres with multi-layered complex characters. i think Eric Kripke is a genius actually, for putting this story together and taking the time to build the universe and creating a show about the supernatural that is very much anchored in reality and for bringing old legends next to modern-created myths and for mixing comedy and drama so well. so yeah, it's good. and let's face it, it wouldn't have lasted fifteen years if it wasn't.
you can say it's a guilty pleasure but come on, it's not Twilight.

You ever open up a fic and barely a paragraph in your whole body starts trembling with giddy excitement?
The plot is exactly right and the atmosphere and the voice are all soul-singingly good, right at the very beginning, and you have to stop yourself from hooting like a crazy old wizard because Oh HOo HOOOOOO this oneâs gonna be GOOD
YES!!!! Oh, God!! Thatâs the best feeling!!!
Space either ends or doesnât end and both are equally weird
canât stand when people say sam had a childhood and dean didnât. sam got the never ending family road trip, itâs all he ever knew. dean got four years that he somewhat remembers and wants to go back to when his family was whole and happy. neither of them truly got a childhood, they only had each other, so why are we pitting their unhappiness and experiences against each other!!!
sorry this took me so long to respond to! here is the post this is in reference to.
the implications of the dean pov going from the pyre and not from the barn..... dean actually STUCK AROUND until he was burned i am going to LOSE IT
Well. Fuck.
Did he? Did he stick around to make sure Sam got home safely? To make sure Sam burned him? What would he have done if Sam went into his room and sat on the bed and took out a gun? Would he try to stop him? Or would he greet him in Heaven with âitâs okay, Sammy, I would have done the same thingâ?
Dean actually gets more psychoanalyzing in Sam, Interrupted than Sam does, and we learn later that itâs because Deanâs psychiatrist isnât real. Sheâs a figment of his drugged brain. Given that, this is Dean confronting his own issues. He clearly knows what they are â his drinking, his inability to sleep or have long-term relationships. But does he conclude that any of that is due to his time in hell? No, because they were problems before he went to hell that have just worsened. For Dean, it all leads back to his father. Itâs hard to know if that is just incredibly sad or absolutely chilling.
the worst part is like. not a single word of this is true.Â
#SPNDEN 2021 | Jared Padalecki about Castiel & Dean last scene in episode 15.18
Disclaimer: I won't tolerate any hateful or BS comments/tags on that post. You're free to think whatever you want, you can disagree but Jared view of that scene is valid and I'm glad he shared it with us.
Crazy people can actually hear JPeg say this with their own ears and not actually hear what heâs saying.. mans should of stayed quiet đ©đđ€Ą
No he should have not. What's actually crazy is that he has to say that again (if you watch con panels & interviews, both Jared & Jensen said this numerous times) . Supernatural was never about romance. Brothers can say I love you to each other & touch their foreheads for comfort and it's not gross or incestual. Best friends can say I love you to each other and it doesn't mean they want to bang each other. That's what make Supernatural unique and beautiful. And I do think they (Misha & Berens especially) did a great disservice to Castiel by saying Cass's love confession was a romantic one, cause, to me it feels like coming out of nowhere (pun unintended), OOC, borderline shady. Castiel isn't human. He doesn't feel emotions like humans. He's above that. And as Jared put it he's 'junkless'. It doesn't mean he can't have sex. It means Cass doesn't have a gender.. On Earth, his vessel could be a male or a female, it wouldn't matter. In Heaven, he is pure grace.
That's why I like Jensen's interpretation so much : Castiel's love was heavenly, so much more than what human emotion can comprehend. It was pure love for Dean (not lust or romance) & Humanity as a whole & like Jensen, that's how I choose to interpret it. Now, if you choose to interpret that confession scene as a romantic one, feel free to do so but don't come at actors who've played those characters for 15 years & read every single scripts.
