i'm gonna go ahead and just make this post as a public service announcement re: users that are blatantly using AI for fandom purposes right now. i couldn't find tumblr info for any of these people so the usernames listed are their ao3 handles.
i recommend everyone use the "Mute" and "Block" features in ao3 on their profiles - it will improve your user experience by removing their generative AI content from your search results
pitlanelover - their generative AI usage is pretty obvious in a lot of their fics where they've forgotten to clean up artifacts/repeated sections with and without the right character names, but the last two reblogs on this post also detail pretty extensively them being caught using generative AI and continuing to try and get away with it. I recommend you Mute and Block this user on AO3.
ItsartbitcheSx - lots of signs of generative AI usage before you even click into the fic itself (the titles all being in quotes, the summaries often sounding oddly polished/corporate) but the real giveaway here is in the word counts. from march 17th, 2025 to july 18th, 2025 - a span of only FOUR months - they have inexplicably produced 1,232,787 words of content on ao3. that averages out to over 308,000 words per month, and OVER TEN THOUSAND WORDS PER DAY. Every day. For four straight months. Sure, Jan. I recommend you Mute and Block this user on AO3.
meownies - admits to using AI on their fucking AO3 profile and literally directs you to interact with a chatbot they generated of the Charles from their fic.
I recommend you Mute and Block this user on AO3.
There are at least three other users I'm fairly suspicious of but I need to do more investigation there. I do not level these accusations lightly and I am not trying to start a "witch hunt" but sometimes it's really goddamn obvious and needs to be called out so we can all help clean up this community and get these people out of here.
Remember kids! Using generative AI in fandom spaces is ALWAYS loser behavior!
Additional users to Mute and Block on AO3:
Sakuaatsu1315 - has inexplicably produced 1,462,665 words of content in ~5 months. This would work out to be an average of 292,000 words per month and almost 10,000 words a day. Every day. For five months straight. Which would be absolutely mind-boggling for anyone, but it's especially hard to believe that someone who claims English is not their first language is churning out THAT much English content that fast. They also added this as the "final chapter" on one of their fics as an odd...announcement of possible fics to come. except the "fic ideas" look EXACTLY like what you would put in as a prompt for generative AI.
Saenri_Aurelius - has produced 619,724 words of content in ~4.5 months, or an average of ~138,000 words per month / ~4,600 words per day every day for five months while full time employed as, seemingly from their author's notes, a naval engineer (which does not carry a light schedule conducive to a lot of writing time). The word count alone is significant, but it wouldn't have been enough for me to add them to this post on its own. However, at the beginning of July, they got called out for AI usage in their fics and tried to blame it all on their beta reader, who they claimed "ran their fic through Chat GPT for formatting" and who they claimed was actually the one posting the chapters to AO3 while logged into Saenri's account. But when pressed for who said beta reader was, so that others could avoid using them, they would not name the beta reader. You can read part of the "my beta reader is actually the one at fault here" saga here.

_rosscooke_: lando 🤝oscar
BREAKING NEWS: lando and oscar crashed into each other at the austrian gp!
64 + landoscar pretty please?? i truly think this could be a nyoomfruits drabble classic
64. “I heard Omegas like stuffed animals in their nest so I bought like, 30 for you.”
It’s so stupid, but Oscar has very quickly learned that when it comes to Lando Norris, he just can’t help himself.
It starts off so innocent too, just Lando complaining to Oscar during a particularly grueling weekend early on in the 2023 season, back when the car was still bad bad, that he couldn’t even properly nest because he left all of his stuffed animals at home, and apparently according to Lando, a proper next is not a proper next without at least one cuddly friend or two.
Oscar got him a simple teddy bear, that time. Saw it in the airport and bought it before he even fully realized what he was doing. For a split second he considered shoving it into his bag, pretending it never even happened, but before he could, Lando had already spotted him.
“Bought a friend, Oscar?” Lando had said, cocked head as he eyed the bear with curiosity.
“For you,” his stupid Alpha brain said, thrusting the bear forward before he could stop himself.
“Oh.” Lando’s face had been soft, taken off guard a little bit. “That’s. Thank you.”
