IDK, I kind of see him as the sort who’d be like “I wrote the textbook so it’s technically not piracy” as he sends everyone a copy of the PDF, lets people eat in class as long as they’re not distracting others and is kind of lowkey in a feud with practically everyone else in the field. If you participate actively you might get invited to thanksgiving dinner with the Elric-Rockbell household, Gracia and Elicia Hughes, and the Fuhrer’s family, and if you’re struggling in the class and come to him for help he’ll have tea with you in his office and you’ll either talk about alchemy and figure out where you went wrong or realize that you really wanted to go into experimental physics and leave with a letter of recommendation for the physics program.

That’s not to say getting an A in his class is remotely easy, you have to work hard to even get a C, but if you put in the effort you’ll likely leave his class with an invitation to drop by his office any time just to talk. because despite his initial reluctance to teach, Ed often finds himself actually liking his students.
