Hello! I write on ao3 as fogged_zephyr (formerly crankyy_newt). You guys can call me Ze and my pronouns are he/they.

I'm a multifandom writer and have no set schedule for my writing, I post as I finish my works and have no set patterns when writing for fandoms.

Are you not writing for the superbat fandom anymore? :(

Hello! I've always been a multifandom writer so I'm never going to only post one fandom back to back forever, sometimes it's going to be a bit before I'm writing one of the fandoms I've written for before. I have a few Superbat fics that are still in the works but I wrote A LOT of Superbat all in a short time frame (71k words!) without writing for any of my other fandoms so I'm taking a step back for the moment so that I can properly come up with some good ideas again. I don't want to put out works that I'm not happy with and sometimes writing for other fandoms can let me think of ideas for others in the background! I'm sure I'll post more of it at some point ദ്ദി´ ˘ `)

Involuntary Movement

It's silent, more silent than Grace would expect since he was certain Rocky would begin freaking out at the sight of him. He carefully moves onto his side so that he can look into Rocky's side of the ship, trying to ignore how his head repeatedly jerks up. Rocky is deathly still on his side of the ship, his carapace lowered a bit towards the ground. "Why… Why Grace do that, question? Grace hurt, question?" Rocky asks, his voice high in a way that it usually is when he's panicking.

Or, Grace pulls a muscle and his tic disorder acts up in response.

Hello Everyone! Sorry this one took a bit to post, it's about to be finals week for me so I've been pretty busy. I personally do have tics so I based this off of an experience I had but I'm sorry if I got any information wrong, I might have a tic disorder but I don't know everything about them so I might have mixed up some in the explanation. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy! I loved seeing all the comments on my previous Project Hail Mary fanfics, I'm glad people are enjoying them so much! (⸝⸝´ ᵕ `⸝⸝)

Alarms and Paralysis

Before I even begin to relax after learning that I am not currently dying a loud alarm begins to sound and the lights in the room start to flicker on and off. The sudden sound of the alarm is ear-splitting after the complete silence I just had and I let out a garbled noise of pain, not able to make much else noise. I fight to move again, wanting to sit up, wanting to run up to the control room and see what is going on, but my body still refuses to move. All I get is a twitch of my finger. The weight on my chest feels heavier with each second and it feels like I'm wheezing with every breath. What is going on? Are we going to die just because I can't move and Mary decided now was the perfect time to have a problem?

Or, Grace gets sleep paralysis and worries that something is seriously wrong.

Hello Everyone! I got a lot of comments saying they don't mind first person and a few that don't like first person so I think I'll write some stories in third person and some in first so that everyone can read things they prefer! Also, I really want to thank everyone for all the comments on my last fic, reading comments really makes me so happy and makes me motivated to keep writing for everyone. Gone Swimming

He stops swimming to float on top of the water, feeling the artificial wind and sun on his face. He didn't realise how much he missed mundane things like just enjoying sunlight hitting his skin or wind blowing on his face. When he'd ride his bike to Grover Cleveland Middle after his stop at the diner he would always enjoy just feeling the wind hitting him, especially right before summer break where the air would be warmer and he could smell all the flowers that had finally finished growing. He wishes that Erid had plant life like Earth did, it would be interesting to see how they looked or how they smelled. Though, Eridians don't have a sense of smell so maybe the plants wouldn't develop a scent at all. He's so lost in his thoughts that hearing a sudden screech scares him enough that he starts flailing around in the water, water getting into his mouth and up his nose. "Grace ♪♫, question. Danger danger danger!"

Or, Grace decides to finally take advantage of his beach but Rocky didn't know humans can swim, or float.

Hello Everyone, I'm not sure I feel that happy with the finished product of this fic but I haven't posted in so long and I finally finished something so I wanted to post it. I am sorry that I haven't posted in a few months, life has been hectic and it's been hard for me to finish any of the works I've started (｡ᵕ ◞ _◟) But I hope you guys enjoy this one.

Also, a question for the Project Hail Mary fans, do you guys like the fics in third or first person better? I've seen quite a bit of the fics in first person and I feel like it fits more because the book is in first person but also I often see people saying they won't read first person fics ╮(ᵕ—ᴗ—)╭. Maybe I'll write one in first person and see if people enjoy it?

Hello, I'm alright! I'm so sorry for the lack of posting, I've had a lot going on lately as I had to move and get back into the groove of life in my new home. I've also been having a hard time finishing fics that I've started lately (◞‸◟) But I have started a few fics that I am excited about and I'm hoping that I'll get to post them for everyone soon as I really do enjoy posting and giving people things that they get to read and enjoy. I'm sorry if I worried anyone, I am still around, I promise!! (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)

I've been made aware that fandom spaces are dying and people are being horrible to writers. So I have to share this with each and every one of my favourite writers on here, I want you to know that this comes from the bottom of my heart,I love and appreciate your work very very much! I love everything about it and I hope you never lose the love you have for writing and I wish you all the happiness in the world ❤️ thankyou for forgiveness sharing so many amazing pieces of works about everything and especially superbat with us! Oh my goodness thank you so much! (╥ ᴗ ╥) I'm always so glad when I get to see how much people enjoy my writing, it makes me beyond happy since it is the one thing that I really enjoy doing and the one thing I would love to do long term. I'm so happy that I am able to share my writing with people that also love the characters I'm writing about and see how they also feel about the characters.

"Mike!" Dustin groans. Will laughs, trying to quickly reach up and wipe away the tears that had gathered in his eyes at hearing Mike describe their future together before anyone else saw them. "We agreed you could continue to DM if you stopped using your campaigns to flirt with Will!" Lucas sighs, his head leaned back in frustration.

Or, I fixed the ending with Will's epilogue, and it features an ending that fits him more and byler!

Hello Everyone, I'm sorry it's been so long since I've posted on here and I'm sorry for my writing slowing down. I've had a lot going on with my life and it's made writing a bit hard for me and I've just recently started getting myself back into it (╥‸╥)

However, that isn't the main reason I posted, I just wanted to make a post acknowledging my rebrand. I was a little nervous to do it because I didn't want to make it hard for people to find me but I don't really write for Maze Runner as much and wanted to make a username that was more neutral since I write for so many other fandoms! So instead of crankyy_newt I'll be fogged_zephyr! I'm putting it in my pinned post as well to hopefully help anyone that is looking for me ദ്ദി( •̀ ᴗ - ).

But, I will hopefully be able to get some writing done and be able to post some more for you guys. I love interacting with you guys and posting things you enjoy so I really want to get back to that!

Am I Too Late?

When he had seen that body being pulled from the water it had felt like the ground had crumpled beneath his feet and he had been swallowed by the earth. He hadn't been able to breathe and he didn't know what to do with himself, he had lashed out at others and he just wanted Will. All of the past feelings are quickly resurfacing but this time, it's different. He's older now and he and Will are closer than ever. A lot of confusing feelings have been swirling around in his head for a while and it has only intensified since Will came out to them, he had hoped to talk to Will about all of it when everything is over but is he too late?

Or, while still connected to the hivemind Will feels everything during the final battle and he and Mike both worry they're too late to be honest with each other.

Did you unironically ask why nobody would refer to themselves as queer in 1987? Can straight fujoshi with 0 knowledge of queer history fucking leave and never come back

So I'm actually a trans gay man. In the 80's, during the AIDs epidemic, the term queer was being reclaimed by activists. It started out as derogatory but it was being reclaimed slowly but surely. So yes, why couldn't he? Why could he not be shown as someone that was moving forward? Someone that was reclaiming something that was once used against him like everyone else at this time that was fighting for their rights. These things might have been more widely known and might have peaked in the 90's, but that doesn't mean it didn't start in the 80's.

I've been trying to find an alternative to google docs to do my writing and I ended up stumbling across a video on tiktok talking about ellipsus and I've been trying to transition to it for a few days and I just found out I can keep my fics in actual folders and oh my god it's a game changer. Now I can keep track of my different fandoms without having to label them in the titles ٩(^ᗜ^ )و ´- I have way to many fics in the works so this is amazing

I can not describe how let down by volume 2 I feel. I was expecting to watch it and have some loose strings tied up but I feel like it just opened more and didn't really resolve all that much.

My main gripe is the coming out scene and just how everything with that was handled. I personally don't really like the 'forced to come out by someone' trope but if it's handled correctly I think it can work, but I don't feel like this worked for Will at all. He had obviously been working his way up to coming out, he had been asking Robin questions about it and asking how she did it. I feel they should have just stuck with that, they could have had Vecna still influence the decision but I feel there should have been more put into the idea that Will was also just ready to come out, to be open about how he feels and accept himself.

Also, I feel like the cop out and not using the words 'gay' or 'queer' really wasn't great either. If he's accepting himself, why can't he use those words? Why can't he say what he is beyond "I don't like girls". Those words are constantly used against him and I felt it would have been powerful to have him reclaim them, to really show that he accepts himself. But I don't know, maybe that's going to come in to play with him not really accepting himself, if not I don't know why he couldn't say those words.

The Tammy thing also left a bad taste in my mouth because it makes no sense for him to think of Mike that way and makes no sense for him to outright say it either! Tammy was someone that Robin didn't really know, someone she just watched from a far. But Mike and Will are not that, they have known each other pretty much their whole lives, they are best friends and have grown up and grown as people together. Reducing it to just a hallway crush is horrible. And there was no reason for him to say it out loud because no one but Robin and Steve know what he is talking about, meaning no one else gets what he's saying and also leaving an opening for Robin to get outed.

Robin is not as open about herself, her coming out was much more personal (even the forced one she had with the truth serum!). She has come out to 3 people and they were personal and her talking about her experiences. It's something I really wanted to see from Will's coming out, I wanted it to be personal, I wanted it to be with people that mattered and not the giant group. I really hope they can tie up everything and give Will a proper ending in the final but I just don't see it happening, I feel like there's not enough time.
