I'm okay, graduating college in 5? Days
"Well, congratulations then."
hello!
Thorn gives you a wave and a half-smile. "How are you?"
There's a small breeze, with the scent of roses, as Thorn appears in the office, looking around with an eyebrow raised, her hands folded in front of her.
Phantom looks up from his desk. He sets down the quill he's sketching with, as he looks up at her.
"Hello Thorn. What brings you by?"
“I came to check on you, that’s all. I haven’t heard from you since the wedding, wanted to see how the married life was treating you.”
Phantom smiles to himself, look at his ring.
"It's going so much better than I dared hope."
She gives a soft chuckle. “Mind if I sit?”
Phantom gestures at the seat in front of him, as he stacks a pile of parchment and loose leaf paper to the side.
Thorn smiles, sitting down and crossing her legs. “Well, other than being happily married, how are things?”
Phantom frowns a little at that.
"It's different. I'm trying to make things better."
“Well, that is different.” She teases gently. “I’m glad to hear it. How are your brothers?”
"Mare seems happy. Happier than I've seen him in a long time. Pierce has his schooling. I don't even know where Echo and Paultin have been."
“I’m sure they’re keeping just as busy.”
Phantom shrugs, closing his eyes for a few moments.
"I know. So many things to do."
“Well, if you ever want to get away from it all, my office is still open to you.”
Phantom sighs, shaking his head.
"I can't get there anymore."
Thorn rolls her eyes a bit, and holds a hand out to him. In her palm is a small charm. “Put it over a door, and you can just go through the door and into my office. You can take it down and put it up whenever, so you don’t have to worry about your husband or daughter wandering through it.”
Phantom takes it slowly, looking over it. He sighs, closing his eyes.
"Thank you. You don't have to do this."
“You’re right, I don’t. But I want to. Because as hard as it may be to believe, we are, somehow, friends now. And despite the dumb shit that you’ve done and will likely do again, and despite the dumb shit that I’ve done and will likely do again, I don’t want you feeling alone, for any reason.”
The charm itself is a small silver pendant with a small space on the back for it to go on a hook. It’s formed in the shape of a rose, with a flame towards the bottom. The flame seems to be made out of amber.
Phantom's eyes are drawn to the flame. He rubs his thumb over it, shaking slightly. He closes his eyes, attempting to keep his tears in. His voice cracks, barely as he speaks softly.
"Thank you."
“Hey.” Thorn’s voice is gentle, as she reaches across the desk again, this time just offering a hand. “Pain is normal. Feeling pain, is normal. It’s okay to lean on people that offer to let you.”
Phantom squeezes his loose hand.
"I can't. I have to do this."
Phantom shakes, looking at the charm.
"I don't deserve this."
She clicks her tongue at him. “Well, keep it anyway. I get bored, just doing paperwork, use it to come bother me at some point if you’d rather.”
Phantom nods, barely holding himself in.
"I can do that."
“Then do it soon. Like I said, I get bored. The most exciting thing to happen recently for me was the wedding.” She stands up, straightening her shirt out.
Phantom nods, smiling weakly.
"Right."
“Alright.” Thorn gives him another soft smile, and a wink, before going out the door and disappearing.
There's a small breeze, with the scent of roses, as Thorn appears in the office, looking around with an eyebrow raised, her hands folded in front of her.

“Indeed it has. I’m very well, actually, thank you.”

Thorn nods to you.
oh wow... thank you for sharing that, I'll do my best to get her to see our side.
“Feel free to mention that he is also dead.”
