had a friend ask me for help drawing dragons so i made a few tiny tutorials
A little challenge for December to help fight my creative block 😅
In case you don't know what to draw
- Your favorite character with clothes they would never wear. - A crack ship. - Dance poses. Breakdance poses are always better. - Backgrounds!!!! - Think about a feeling/emotion, try drawing something that would make you feel that way. - A magical/mythical creature. - Modern day AUs are always fun. - What would your fave’s room look like? - Expressions! Extra points for making them exaggerated. - Flying objects. Any kind of objects. Put some wings on a refrigerator. - Your outfit! - Design a mermaid. Or a sprite.
How do you draw a flower crown? I think there really cute, but I can't draw them. /.\
I THINK THERE ARE LOTS OF WAYS TO draw flower crowns but here’s how I do them!
HOPE THAT HELPS YOU OUT A BIT!
Any advice on necks? they are my nemesis ;;
Im not gonna go into detail w the muscles but if you wanna learn the specifics here are some good diagrams! 1,2 Hope that helps a little! Look up rl refs too!
hi! umm pls pls PLS if you have the time, do a thingy on arms when you get the chance, they are so hard i could almost cry aslkdjaskjsas, i keep forgetting how many curves an arm should have/how long it should be (in diff positions/when it's not resting at the hips) etc etc etc ahhh omg please!! thank you sosososo much, i l♡ve all of your art and i hope you have a nice day!! ✧ ㅠㅠ ✧
I don’t want to go into detail in terms of muscles, but I’m sure you can find them if you google arm muscles! Hope this helps u out a little!
Do you have specific swatches you use in photoshop? or do you know of any useful colour swatches? if so can you please provide links if you can thank you so much, much love 2 ur art is amazing //kisses
NOPE I don’t really use swatches bc I choose my colors very arbitrarily but i’ve noticed that somehow I do often end up with similar colors at the end anyway LOL There’s a nice skin color swatch HERE, some pretty palette swatches HERE, and a swatch palette for copic colors HERE!
I CAN”T FIND THE ORIGINAL POST that showed me how to do this at the moment, but here’s a neat way to get color palettes from pictures to make your own swatches!
I personally don’t mind if you want to pick the colors from my drawings but do be mindful that not everyone might feel the same way. It’s an easy way to pick colors off real life photos of people/ places to make some cool swatches of your own though!!
hi Kel!! if you could give some advice/tips to your younger and inexperienced self what would you say is the best and most efficient way to do an anatomy study so it actually sticks in your mental library? like how do you break down a study of a body part
UMM I think the most effective way to learn anatomy varies from person to person but for me, I like drawing the muscles over pictures to see how they work/ their placement in action! SO USING THE ARM as an example
omg somehow this became about arms BUT YEAH I basically do the same for other body parts and DOING THIS rly helps me visualize where what belongs where, and it also helps me with getting a 3d image! Im not sure if THE LAST PART makes sense but I also think it’s very important to understand how things are CONNECTED i.e. when you’re studying muscles, always try to see what other muscles they’re connected to + where they are on the body (do they face outward/ does that change when the body moves?) SAME FOR BODY PARTS (where arm attaches to shoulder/ where leg attaches to hip etc)
THAT’S WHAT WORKS FOR ME!! All the best to you anon 💪
I've been having lots of trouble with drawings hands, and looking around I only see people drawing the side of hands with the thumb and all I'm looking for is just one simple reference of the pinky side of a fist facing up ;;
omigod i drew a reply to this and somehow in my head I remembered it as an ask about fists but it wasn’t?????????? I WENT COMPLETELY OFF THE SUBJECT and to goodness knows where
SORRY FOR GOING OFF TOPIC i hope the last pic helps w what you were looking for? OH GOSH
Hey!! If you like vampires and werewolves, do consider backing the mordeo artbook!! THERE ARE A WHOLE BUNCH OF RLY GREAT ARTISTS INVOLVED and it’d be awesome if they could hit their kickstarter goal! If you’ve pledged for it, send me a screenshot and I’ll be happy to doodle something for you in return ❤️❤️🙆
!!!
in your last art post in this blog there's fay with flowers, it has a paperlike effect.. if i may ask how can i do that? is it the brush?
IT’s an effect I added in photoshop!!

City pixel art tutorial
In this tutorial you’ll learn how I made the above gif, and how to make a pixel art city of your own, using photoshop cc! here’s a link to the tutorial! http://8pxl.tumblr.com/tutorial2

SO YOU WANNA DRAW CATS AND DOGS BUT THOSE PESKY SNOOTS GET IN THE WAY
Here’s a hopefully helpful tutorial on how to draw them from memory but it also helps to understand and break down how to see their structure when you use reference!
Remember, it’s always best to learn the anatomy of an animal first before trying to stylize it. This way you know the rules and can choose which ones to break!

So I was asked to make a slime tutorial!
1) start with your lines! Remember to be fluid here, keep things organic and rounded. This will help when you start coloring!
2) Now when I color slime I choose to line in color as well as it helps create that “clear” or “jello-like” look later on.
3) I started by picking my color set! I find that having a five color set usually helps me create a smooth, goopy transition with my markers but that’s just me! Now I always start with my darkest color trying to make the centers. Ever have Gushers? Imagine you’re making that. And that’s where all your main bits are going to be. Whether they’re the biggest overlaps in body parts or where your slime’s innards are going to be.
4) Here’s where you start establishing shadows that aren’t primarily due to overlap or innards!
5) Start to round out your shadows and your centers from panel 3.
6) Continue to follow that liquid rounded feeling of your shading. Here is probably where you’ll start to reach the edges of your lines.
7) Finish with your colors and leave your established lighted areas pretty pale.
8) I feel like this could be entirely optional depending on taste but it looks really clean to me. So here I blend from darker colors to lighter colors using my colorless blender. Careful though, depending on how wet your piece is you could have some bleeding really take over your lines here.
9) Fill in any other spaces here! I.E.) clothes, facial details, markings, accessories, etc.
10) I use the Gelly Roll pens for all my high lighting but really a nice gel pen will get the job done. Again, product used is based on artist comfort in my opinion. I also usually clean up my lines in this stage as there was bleeding that occurred in the colorless blending stage!
I hope to do video tutorials in the future, but hopefully this helps out the way it needs to!
NOTES: The colors I used were from the Prismacolor Premier set and were- ☆PM-39 ☆PB-40 ☆PM-48 ☆PB-134 ☆Sky Light Blue (I unfortunately could not find the number for this one) ☆PB-121 (my colorless blender) ☆PM-8 (Pink) ☆ then black
My liners were from the 20 count Triplus Fineliner set (they’re pretty well priced at Michael’s and Target but at Michael’s you can usually use a 40% coupon on them!)
Then my highlight gel pen was the wonderful Gelly Roll pen! They’re pretty cheap and you can find them at most craft stores and online for about the same price across the board!
