"Bellamy!"
I need people to understand that The 100 is not perfect. It is a show on the CW, which means that it caters to a certain type of audience. While there might be certain moments that make people angry (it has certainly made me angry at points), it is better than a lot of shows out there that are produced by major networks that claim to be all about diversity and inclusiveness. There are incredibly strong female characters, both PoC and not, who are not defined by their relationships to men. There are strong PoC men who learn from their mistakes, which is a very human thing to do. There are also men who are not PoC, who also show adaptation as they move through this new world. Again, it is not a perfect show, but it does try. No, there might not be sexual representation yet, but the writers have confirmed that it has yet to be introduced. Especially on the network like the CW, you have to take it one step at a time. Otherwise, you get characters like Danny Mahealani who are only shown for their computer hacking skills, or when they’re needed for comedic or romantic relief, and eventually, they’re written off like last week’s mail. In shows like Arrow, the main female characters are either killed or need to be saved by the male hero. On The Vampire Diaries, the female lead is conflicted between two brothers for seasons. Reign also had that conflict for most of the first season. The 100 may have moments where you’re like “wtf”, but it does better than a lot of television out there. Women are tortured. Women suffer. But that is reality. Women in this show are also leaders. Women are mothers. Women try to do what they believe is right, despite the consequences. You can’t expect the world out of one show, but give it a chance. Don’t watch one episode and form an opinion. Watch the first season. Watch every episode that’s aired. Then make your judgment. Be a critical consumer of media, and I guarantee, you will get so much more out of it than you initially believed.

merlin + archetypes; part one [part two] {insp}
she needed a hero and that’s what she became
Bellamy Blake + character development
#character growth but in real life
Barry Allen + smiles made of actual sunshine
Each of us is here because we broke the Law. On the Ground, there is no Law. All we have to do is survive.
Miller decides then he'd probably die for these two losers.
spoilers up to 2x02
I spend tons of time letting you boss me around and now it’s your turn. So, lesson number one: while I’m casually talking to you, find some small excuse to touch me.
He’s still looking for a home, probably a metaphorical home. - Chris Evans (x)
What is it? The guy with the one eye. Around his neck.

Tumblr likes to throw a lot of dirt around about how misogynistic the majority of television is, but then doesn’t watch The 100 when females like this exist:
badass mechanic queen Raven Reyes who literally couldn’t give a fuck about you and your poor tragedy so best get out of the way
warrior love princess Octavia Blake who wouldn’t blink before she killed you if you dared to cut down the people she loved
supreme justice goddess Clarke Griffin who doesn’t flinch over the hard decisions especially when it doesn’t impress the boy interest
Wake up. The Ladies you want are here.
EDIT TO ADD because the tags are right:
fierce as shit grounder knight-queen Anya who leads her own battle from the front lines commanding and demanding respect from you and the skyfall you came from
fuck the system rebel doctor Abigail Griffin who will make her own damn decisions thank you very much and won’t listen to your no when her yes is right
and then there’s Diana Sydney who wasn’t so much as evil as she was merciless, living out the worst case scenario but looking for her best ending and damn it, she (and her followers) almost succeeded doing it her way and that’s a big fucking deal for a female villan
the new one lady Indra who seems to be taking over for the missing Anya and hello, the grounders clearly know what’s up women are the best leaders they get shit done
Aurora Blake who loved her illegal daughter so much she built her whole life around keeping her safe, even going so far as to let the gross captain of the guard use her as a call girl and I don’t hear anyone tearing her down over it.
please lust over these Ladies your life will be better
