He used to eat whatever he could get his hands on but when he has an actual choice? Cheetos. Uncrustables. The plastic kool aid bottles and yes he’s gnawing on the top. Avocados yeah but more so inhaling any berry or fruit he can get his hands on. The only veggie Robby and Jack can absolutely get him to consume without a grimace is peas. And even that can be a hassle. Give him those chobani flip yogurts and he’s eating four in one day.
It’s partially his sensory issues with food, part of the simplicity of “carb protein fruit” (vegetable, Robby chastises him and Dennis grumbles in reply), and of course the trauma of it.
Growing up, he couldn’t leave the table until his plate was empty. When church goers brought over food or he went to some gathering, it was polite to take a bit of everything. He’s been so used to forcing his body to consume whatever was put in front of him that the first time Trinity asked what he wanted for snacks he didn’t have a reply. “Whatever you want” because he wouldn’t dare get something of his own or something he wasn’t sure he would like. Something he couldn’t finish.
So when he was the money, and the friends and partners who support his food habits (one vegetable, Dennis seriously you’re going to get scurvy) (I’m not a fucking pirate you’re the one with one leg-sorry, sorry I’m sorry) (I’m not-Jesus I think Robby would insist on corner time for that but that’s fucking funny-)
He just gets to eat however he wants and it’s finally not a food vs him mentality

Lemme pick your brain for a sec; Stalker!Dennis stalking Jack without realizing that Jack's been in the game a lot longer than he has. Jack thinks it's cute that this kid is trying to sneak around his house like he hasn't got cameras in almost every corner. It's like watching a baby animal pounce on their dad (fauxcest wink wink nudge nudge)

It starts off so innocent. Dennis wants to find a way to prompt more conversations with Jack because he's just so shy. Dr. Abbot can be so intimidating and Dennis just needs to find some common ground to spark a little interest.
So it's logical, to Dennis, that he can do this by just. You know.
Breaking and entering.
But! But! He's so careful! And he even does the dishes in the sink as a way to make it a polite breaking and entering. Dennis just browses through the book shelves, pockets a pair of dirty underwear, takes a peek at some pictures in the bedroom. He notices a DVD collection of some TV show that Dennis's dad watched years ago.
So he brushes up on the plot lines and carefully, loudly complains to Trinity about how there's no streaming service they have access to that would allow him to watch the show. Says he's been wanting to binge it.
Jack doesn't take the bait.
Dennis goes back. Combs through mail, takes a peek at Jack's color coded calendar because of course he has one, steals one of Jack's typical black undershirts, and digs through some receipts to see what and where the man has been.
And then. Just. Occasionally. Goes to those restaurants and bars based on those timestamps. Wears the black undershirt because he's feeling just a little bit bold.
He gets lucky one night. He's been making too many trips, desperate to find something, anything to get Abbot's attention. On the calendar is a planned dinner at one of the bars Dennis has been frequenting.
It's perfect. It's fate. It's Dennis sitting in too tight jeans and a too tight shirt to show off his little farm boy muscles, and acting so surprised when Jack taps his shoulder to see what the kid's doing.
"Date bailed." Jack said casually. "Can I join you?"
And there's a flash of jealousy because the calendar didn't say date but Dennis can't focus on that for too long because he did it. He's got Abbot giving him all of his attention and he knows all the right questions to ask and the topics to bring up.
Jack's grin is a tad too predatory. A little too smug when Dennis brings up wanting to go to a Penguins hockey game but never having the time. That medical conference in Boston looks soooo interesting when is it again? Oh, you're going Dr. Abbot? You'll have to tell me how it is.
It turns into Jack asking if Dennis wants to come home with him and Dennis is metaphorically jumping for joy while Jack picks up the bill and has to stop his leg from bouncing in the car ride over.
Something something Jack kisses him first and is about to start taking Dennis's clothes off but pauses and goes "Oh, shit, let me turn the cameras off first. I don't want you to think I'm some freak watching you when you're not aware of it later on."
Dennis is about to start crying or apologizing or explaining himself or maybe running but Jack just grips his chin, grin still something no longer predatory but downright wolfish.
"Relax, kiddo. It's cute. You just wanted to get your old man's attention, didn't you?"
