âââAre you actually trying to...wager with me?â
"You do realize Iâm not a demon, correct?âââ
ââTo be honest⊠she was unsure of what he actually was. Spirit, monster, or demon. It was the first time she had seen something supernatural related, and it did, in fact, place her in a state of uncomfortableness. She was only an eight year old girl, minus the magical powers, that had nothing to back her up.
Still, she stood her ground as best she could, in grace and poise as she was always taught. She may or may not look as if she had bravery, but at least she was sure she was presentable as a child of royalty and heir to a kingdom.
However, her gaze failed her to stare at the ground in insecurity,âI-I am sorryâŠ. but, please⊠leave my sister alone.âââ
ââChuma blinked several times, dismissing the ignorance while processing her stance. Uncertainty had kept her off guard - he could very well strike whenever he choose. But that would take the fun out of it all, and with children, there were many games to be plaid.
The shadow seemed smug, almost to smirk if he had visible lips. His advance on her was slow, and he seemed to shrink to match her size the closer he came.
"Little Princess," he cooed, "I am only here to do my job. You must understand, my dear - Anna is having nightmares, so I must come to provide. You...you will be. One of my brothers will be your watchful shadow as well. It is nothing personal, it's a simple part of life."ââ
