Broadway Bonanza! 

Are you a theatre nut? Do you have a prized Playbill collection? Do you want to add to it?  If so, read on to find out how you can, and also help a great cause into the bargain.

ALL of the pictured Playbills are currently on sale in a special Charity Auction in aid of leukaemia research charity Bloodwise which ends this Sunday, 27th November.

Many have been signed by the entire Broadway cast, including a rare Opening Night Something Rotten Playbill and a Pride edition Playbill from Kinky Boots. 

The auction also includes West End memorabilia and some unique photo/autograph sets featuring some of the biggest names on Broadway.

Calling all X-Files fans!

At last year’s Radio Times Festival the wonderful Emerald Fennell posed for this rather lovely photo and also autographed a specially-designed postcard to accompany it. 

The photo & postcard are now being auctioned off in aid of Bloodwise, the UK’s leading charity in the battle against blood cancers such as leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

The auction runs until Sunday 27th March and features several other Call the Midwife favourites, as well as stars of stage & screen such as Sheridan Smith, David Duchovny, James Earl Jones and Imelda Staunton.

I would have LOVED to have gone to the South Bank event featuring Lena Dunham talking to Caitlin Moran, especially with some of the Call the Midwife cast in attendance. Next best thing: I managed to get hold of a signed copy of Lena Dunham's new book 'Not That Kind of Girl' courtesy of Waterstones and I'm delighted to include it in the forthcoming Forget-Me-Not Project Christmas Auction. A sad #TBT today… It’s been one month since we lost Robin Williams. My respect for him is enormous. I love this quote:

“I think it is particularly courageous for someone to be that generous in spirit in the face of that kind of depression.” - Conan O’Brien

Now that we understand what he was facing for so many years, I am awed that he fought so long and hard against it, and lasted as long as he did. He tackled so many projects, gave so generously (and quietly), and made people laugh for 40 years all during his fairly private struggle.

I initially thought his suicide would be a blight on all his work. But after learning about his life challenges, I think knowing how hard he must have had to work to bring us so much happiness makes all of the joy, energy and warmth of his performances even more touching.
