“ if i lose one more game at this carnival, i’m suing. ” her voice was frustrated but her face turned bright at an alcohol stand. she walked there and ordered a beer. “ who knew such a joyous occasion could bring me so much pain. cheers. ”

“ 𝐈’𝐌 𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 for the drinks, i don’t know what to tell you. could probably give them a few shots, i enjoy winning. ” wanda said downing her drink without hesitation. she turned to look at the woman and sure enough, virginia potts was staring right back at her. “ pepper? ” she said showing a bright smile, “ you’re here too? ”

Maggie was a social butterfly, and despite not having her sisters or Harry here, despite calling out to Harry several times, she wasn’t about to pass up a carnival.  After all, she was in charge of planning her high school’s fundraising carnival senior year, so she liked to think of herself as a little bit of an expert.  “Are you kidding me?  This place has three stands selling deep-fried everything but not a single kissing booth?  Isn’t that a staple of carnivals?”

𝐒𝐈𝐑𝐈𝐔𝐒 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍 checking out the festivity with some sort of caution. how could everyone be out here celebrating while a murderer was still on the loose? not that sirius could complain. some sense of normalcy could do him good, he grinned when the girl spoke, “ well, that sounds absolute horrific. ” sirius said placing a hand upon his chest, “ i reckon you should have the initiative then.  ”

       𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐆𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐆 on with her? she was officially worried. she knew she went for a walk late at night... to clear her mind, she thinks. maybe she was sleepwalking, she had no idea now. and suddenly she’s waking up in a park bench and wow, her back really hurts. “ i didn’t actually sleep here. ” she reassured to the bystander. she had no idea why she was lying but her position could give her away. YOGA HAD BEEN a big part of bubbles’ life for years. ever since she was diagnosed, most therapists she saw had recommended it for her to use as a coping mechanism for when she got angry. now, she just used it as a way to clear her mind and help her relax after a long day of school. bubbles was sitting, legs crossed with her eyes closed when she heard the other girl speak. a laugh left her at the confession and she opened eyes to look over at her. “honestly, it takes a super long time to finally get used to. it’s more relaxing after a year or so of actually doing it,” she explained with a smile. “you also need patience. it’s key.”

       “ 𝐎𝐊𝐀𝐘, 𝐋𝐄𝐓 𝐌𝐄 get this straight. ” wanda said doing her warming routine, “ you’re telling me, i have to do this for a year before i even start to like it? ” she said mouth almost agape. it wasn’t so much the exercises that bothered her, she liked the stretch. it was more like the peacefulness of it. she felt weird being around so much optimism. “ yeah, well i’m definitely lacking in that department. ” she said after she mentioned patience is key. “ i much rather use my method of relaxation. ”

HONESTLY, VICTOIRE DIDN’T know she was interested in the two men’s conversation, but she understood why the darker haired man was pushing the other away. did muggles not know about personal space? she was about to go back to doing her own thing when a certain object rolling towards her caught her eye. she had to bite back a laugh when he called it a stick, obviously trying to cover up the fact that the stick was actually a magical wand. “it’s quite alright. you didn’t cause a disturbance at all. that other guy was the one being a nit,” victoire replied in a matter-of-fact tone. her eyes glanced to where the wand laid and she pushed her own slightly out of her sleeve so only he could see it. “so… where did you get your stick?”

       𝐒𝐈𝐑𝐈𝐔𝐒 𝐁𝐑𝐔𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐃 𝐇𝐈𝐌𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐅 off and fixed his hair as much as he could. “ ah, but i don’t reckon a time when guys aren’t being nits. myself included. ” he replied with a knowing smile. “ but i’m glad the police won’t be coming after me for this. ” merlin knows he’s had enough of law enforcement to last a lifetime. his interest was piqued when the other showed him a, well, a very similar stick to his. “ well, aren’t you much better at hiding this than me? ” he said waving his wand around before safely putting it back in his coat. truth be told he’d been around wizards his whole life, dealing with muggles was something he wasn’t used to. “ where does everyone get their stick? from ollivander’s, of course. ” he said and then paused, “ unless you’re american or something lame like that. ” he was kidding obviously... or not.

       𝐇𝐄’𝐃 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐀𝐓 the park for around two hours. he was beyond bored and it was friday for god sakes. he’d been watching the girl and thought it couldn’t hurt to try and have a friendly chat. a part inside of him thought that maybe he missed having someone to annoy. he closed his book and pocketed his wand as he walked over to the girl. “ hello, stranger. ” literal stranger, “ i was wondering if i could get some directions. ” good start. Peeta moved carefully through this new town, a small hobble in his step due to metal and plastic piece that replaced the leg he lost in his first round of the games. While he was used to walking on it by now, sometimes it still felt weird with certain places. Noticing someone near him, he stopped before speaking to the person before him. “I’m sorry to bother you,” He started. “But have you happened to see a woman about this tall,” Peeta moved his hand to where Katniss’ height was to show an example. “Brown hair probably in a braid, goes by the name of Katniss?” While he wasn’t sure if someone would actually tell him whether or not they would tell him if they had seen her, he still had to try. If she was here somewhere, he was going to find her.

𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐅𝐎𝐑: 𝐀𝐍𝐘𝐎𝐍𝐄!

𝐀 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐆𝐑𝐈𝐌𝐀𝐂𝐄 was affixed to his face, watching the victims still hang from the statue, unmoving, save for the occasional and faint 𝘚𝘞𝘈𝘠, like a lame pendulum. It could be argued that Nathan looked more disgusted than distressed though. More can be said for most of the crowd that was growing around the base of what was now basically a crime scene. Swallowing thickly, he directed indiscriminately to his right, “So I’m guessin’ the bit about killin’ us wasn’t a prank, then?” It’s then that his sights snagged on a slip of paper that lay by the base of the statue. Nathan carefully avoided the rapidly collecting puddle of blood to pluck it up, revealing, not the killer’s note, but.. “On the bright side, one of ‘em dropped a coupon for twenty percent off your next yoga class–!”

𝐖𝐇𝐎 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃 𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐄 done this? who would be so heartless as to kill and leave the bodies this way? she had gotten unused to the common cruelty that most humans could exhort on other humans. she was used to fighting against higher beings with a bigger plan that just happened to include killing. they were cruel because they needed to be, not because they wanted to be. she remembered pietro, vision, tony. they had died for a higher cause. these victims died for nothing. she hated this way of thinking. she snapped out of her thoughts when the guy spoke. “ seems real. ” she said, blinking rapidly. no trace of having shown emotion. wanda took yoga but she couldn’t get herself to even think of using that coupon. “ are you kidding? ”

       “ 𝐈 𝐀𝐌 𝐁𝐄𝐈𝐍𝐆 perfectly fucking civil. ” sirius responded pushing the man away as he was far too close for his liking. he didn’t even remember what pissed the guy off but he was sirius, he must’ve done something. his wand fell off his coat and rolled over to a girl watching nearby. “ sorry for that, love. let me grab my –– ” he couldn’t say wand outright, “ my stick. sentimental value and all. did i cause too much disturbance? ” he said after looking around and seeing quite a few eyes on him. { elizabeth olsen, 24, female, she/her } Have you seen 𝐖𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐀 𝐌𝐀𝐗𝐈𝐌𝐎𝐅𝐅 from 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐕𝐄𝐋 walking around town?  I guess they’re living up to their reputation of being 𝐋𝐎𝐘𝐀𝐋 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐆𝐎𝐎𝐃-𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐃 and 𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐔𝐋𝐒𝐈𝐕𝐄, and they are a 𝐖𝐀𝐈𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐒.  Don’t tell anyone I told you, but I’ve heard a rumor that 𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐆𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐔𝐏 𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐏𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐀𝐅𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐃𝐈𝐄𝐃.  

some backstory –––

wanda was born in sokovia alongside his twin brother, pietro. they lived a normal childhood as far as she remembers. then everything changed when they home was bombed with stark industries equipment and killed her parents in the process. 

wanda wanted to do everything to bring tony to justice so she let herself be experimented on by hydra and was given supernatural powers by loki’s scepter. those powers included telekinesis, mind control, hypnosis and energy projection. 

she united with ultron to bring the avengers to justice but quickly realized they did not have the same interests in mind. she tried to reason with him but ultimately saw that he wanted to kill thousands of innocents. pietro and her joined the avengers after helping them in a fight against ultron.

wanda tried to stop vision from being born since she had read his mind and saw pain and annihilation, but couldn’t stop it. she ended up trusting vision after he picked up mjolnir and explained he wanted to help. they went on to fight the battle of sokovia where she helped to finally defeat ultron. she watched her brother die as he tried to evcuate the city. 

she then proceeded to become part of the avengers. she quickly learned that even fighting for the greater good, her powers where deadly and innocent people got hurt. this led her to side with steve rogers on the civil war that ensued between him and tony. 

she fell in love with vision and helped protect him after thanos was looking for him to get the mind stone. she thought that shuri had found a way to separate him from the mind stone, so she tried to delay thanos’ army as much as she could but vision asked her to to sacrifice him in order to prevent thanos from getting the stone. she killed him but then the giant used the time stone to reverse his sacrifice and then he killed vision himself.

wanda suffered a great loss but was snapped by thanos. she returned to fight the battle of earth after being returned to life and continued to grieve over her lost love and friends. 

now in the present –––

wanda has become much more reserved and cold ever since experiencing so much grief over vision and everyone who died trying to save the universe. she frequently thinks about all the mistakes she’s done trying to protect the people she loves.

this has led her to try and lead a somewhat normal life, she still has her powers but tries not to use them as to pass for a civilian. 

she was definitely confused when she appeared in hudson lake but is trying to see this as a chance to start over and maybe move on from everything that has happened in the past. she is looking to heal.

some backstory –––

sirius was born to the noble and most ancient house of black. one of the most respected pure-blood family of wizards and witches. unlike his sibling, regulus, sirius was never the one to worry about blood purity or plucking the muggles out of the wizarding world. she didn’t let herself be wrapped up in those ideas, much like his cousin andromeda.

sirius was sorted into gryffindor at hogwarts and he was stoked but that was not the case for his family, who considered him a disappointment since everyone was normally sorted into slytherin. he didn’t give a damn about it since he found his family at hogwarts in the form of his friends. there he met james potter, remus lupin, peter pettigrew marlene mckinnon and lily evans. they became his closest friends. 

he loved hogwarts and was really into quidditch and causing trouble. his best years were spent there. he hated going back home since he didn’t really think anyone actually liked him at that house. 

after finding out remus was a werewolf, their group of friends decided to become an animagus so they could help him on transition nights. sirius became a big dog and was nicknamed ‘padfoot’. 

then the second wizarding war broke out and everything went to hell. sirius fought bravely alongside his peers but most of them were murdered or tortured to insanity. the light in all of that darkness was the love that still surrounded them. james and lily got married (sirius as his best man of course) and then they had a baby, harry, which sirius was named his godfather.

then the fated night at godric hollow, where sirius lost the life he loved, and he lost the best friends he considered brother and sister. he wanted to take care of harry and protect him but that was also taken away when he was sentenced to life in azkaban.

HE DOESN’T REMEMBER THIS NEXT POINT: 

sirius being sirius escaped azkaban after twelve years of imprisonment. he looked for harry and found him. they developed a bond and sirius promised him he wouldn’t let him get hurt again. he died keeping that promise against a battle of death eaters. 

now in the present –––

sirius has no idea what happened, he knows he was trapped in azkaban and then remembers waking up in hudson lake. he is very thankful for the freedom but he’s suspicious about everything and is desperately looking for familiar faces amongst the wizarding world. 

arriving to hudson lake was going pretty well, sirius was adapting quite nicely. sirius felt around for his pockets and surely his wand was still there. that’s all he basically needed. then one night he had a nightmare of a young boy screaming his name and crying out for him as he passed a thin veil. he couldn’t breathe, then he woke up. 

sirius has been having this recurring nightmare very frequently. it’s almost like a memory, and he is very afraid to find out what it actually means. 

he’s been in hudson for a few months now and has gotten somewhat used to life there and got a job as a racer, but he’s still wary about his surroundings.
