âWell, you got me thereâŠâÂ
âItâs just for your safety. Â We all need to be careful.â

She continued to let the music play in her head as she worked on trying to manipulate the ice in front of her. She thought she was finally making something when something made a noise that was over her music making loose her concentration and the ice dropped and shattered into thousands of tiny pieces. Pulling the headphones off she turned around. âWhat the bloody hell?â she says annoyed but concerned.
For someone who spent a good chunk of her life chasing down criminals, Isabel could be a klutz. Â That was exactly what happened when she tripped and accidentally dropped three books on the ground. Â âSorry,â she said before bending down to pick up her books. Â âI tripped on that turned up rug corner.â
fiery-bryant:
âYeah well, what does it even matter anymore?â
Isabelâs eyebrow rose. Â âIt always matters. Â Whatâs wrong?â
tylerxedwards:
âDid they have curfew like this?âÂ
âNo, but we hadnât been recently overtaken by spirits either.â
tylerxedwards:
âIâm sure I will, but you know, college kids just hate those restrictions. Even if they are to keep us safe.âÂ
âI know,â she replied with a smile. Â âI was a college student too once.â
winonatitz:
âEvery day is kind of a spirit thing,â she said with a half shrug. âAre you okay after the weekend?â
âAh,â she replied with a nod and shrug. Â âI guess. Â It was a big mess though. Â Howâd you handle it?â Â Honestly, Isabel didnât know what she was doing. Â She was almost killed by the spirit possessing Vivian, but she didnât want to talk about that.
winonatitz:
Winona ran her hand through her hair, starting to pull at it as she kept hearing the voices while she sat at her desk. âGuys come on, cut me some slack this year. Thereâs been way too many of you in my head the last weekâŠoh god, hippies please get out now. The Vietnam war has been over for forty years.â She buried her face into her hands until there was another sound that drew her attention. âOh thank god youâre not a ghost.â
âNope, not a ghost,â she reassured her with a smile. Â âWhy did you think I was a ghost? Â Is it the whole spirit thing?â
tylerxedwards:
âIâm already starting to hate this curfew more than I thought I wouldâŠâÂ
âYouâll get used to it,â Isabel reassured him. Â âI wouldnât worry about it.â
âWell arenât you clever?â Martyn clapped their hands, sarcasm dripping from his voice. âVivian is unavailable at the moment. You get to deal with me instead.â He sent another fireball Isabelâs way, growling when it hit the shield and fizzled out.
âIâve spent my adult life catching criminals,â she retorted. Â âIt takes more than a little fireball to hurt me. Â What is it that you want with Vivian?â
âWhy thank you every much.â
âYouâre welcome.â
âThanks. Iâm glad it ended up coming together.âÂ
âMe too.â
âItâs sooooo cozy! And I donât have to worry about pockets!â
âThat just makes it even better,â she laughed.
âClearly! I mean look how much skin Iâm showing! I worked hard for these abs, damnit.â
âAnd youâre looking fantastic.â
Martyn stumbled back, a frown marring Vivianâs features. âYou will pay for that.â Conjuring a fireball, he sent it flying at Isabel, but Vivian had adjusted his aim at the last minute and the ball went just past Isabelâs head.Â
She felt the heat of the fireball as it flew past her cheek. Â This was bad. Â Isabel knew it was. Â Quickly, she threw up a shield while she looked Vivian in the eyes. Â âVivian, this isnât you.â
Martyn squeezed and grinned wickedly. âNot a chance in hell. Any last words?â
She didnât want to hurt Vivian, but whatever was possessing her needed to be stopped. Â She quickly wracked her mind for the right curse to force her back. Â âYes,â Isabel said before she cast the curse, forcing Vivian off her. Â âStay away from me.â Â Never once did she think sheâd need her Theron skills outside of the classroom here, yet that was exactly what happened.
âYou might be the first person to say that to me,â he told her, âknew there was a reason witches kept cats around.âÂ
Isabel chuckled.  âIâm a walking clichĂ©.  Iâve got a black cat living in my apartment.â
âThank you!â He smiled. âIâm Tyler by the way. Or I guess you could call me Maverick.â He joked. Â
âMaverick? Â Clever.â
