IM MENTALLY OKAY I SWEAR
grey-eyed travis makes sense for the child experimentation plot-line but by god do i hate that design element so much because not only does it look ugly as hell on him, i feel like it erases a cool concept of someone already being born with green eyes, and still being under a forever potion at the same time. because just imagine how terrifying that could be.
I am currently rewatching Minecraft Diaries, bc Jesss' old roleplays are literally so nostalgic and so excited for the soon-to-be S7.
I am not done with drawing yet, still gotta do the foreground and some more background details, but i thought i would post the WIP
I never actually explained my MCD Player theory ever. The idea that MCD Aphmau has been constructed from both Irene and the Player, Jess. I never actually saw people see MCD like this, yet I've watched the entirety of MCD, Mod Mod World and Mystreet season 1 through 4 with this idea.
When you watch MCD for the first time, you're watching Jess play Minecraft through her character Aphmau. The more she plays the more "the world becomes aware", they mention it multiple times, right up to season 2. Does the world become aware or does Jess become immersed into the world enough to be able to hear everyone speak, and think, and not behave just like NPCs?
Throughout season 1, Jess is the main character, not Aphmau. She greets us, she says goodbye to us every episode. She's aware that this is all a game, but NPCs around her "wake up". And the more they wake up, the more we lose Jess, and we get Aphmau.
Look at Lady Irene for a moment. That woman is white. She's. white.
Irene is a white name, she is pale. Aphmau didn't tan, this is her natural skin color. Why was Irene reborn with a slightly different look? A whole change in ethnicity? OG Irene's skin color was never retconned by the way. The last time we see a glimpse of her in season 6, she's still white.
That's because Aphmau is not just Irene.
The exact moment we lost Jess was at the end of season 1, where Irene's relic enters Aphmau. Since then, we've never seen the facecam. Did Jess disappear? Or did she completely fuse into Aphmau?
I am serious, rewatch Diaries and tell yourself it's a meta plot because it is. MCD is in Minecraft. Mystreet is in Minecraft. Diaries Rebirth? Jess explicitely stated it's different from original MCD, it's not a rewrite, it's its own thing. It can't be a rewrite because the meta plot existed for a long time and it would be a shame to retcon it.
Or I'm just crazy and Jess was just making things up along the way and it wasn't something real
Well looky here
Zach Ross part1.4
It’s the night of the deadline. Sylvanna STILL hasn’t filed for divorce. Zach’s left with one final option. He goes to Derek and asks if he has ever texted Sylvanna from his phone. Confused but honest, Derek says no. Zach asks if he can text Sylvanna from Derek’s phone. When Derek asks why, Zach tells him the truth: he’s going to “hey girlie” Sylvanna. Pretend to be Elizabeth and tell Sylvanna that Zach and Elizabeth had an affair. Knowing very well that Sylvanna doesn’t remember who Elizabeth is; Zach knows it’s going to work. So does Derek. Derek reminds Zach that he’s going to loose everything. Zach tells Derek that happens either way.
Zach takes a picture of the baby, his and Elizabeth’s baby boy who she named Ian. And hey girlies Sylvanna. Sylvanna texts back, Zach can’t look. He tells Derek not to respond, but not to loose her number. When Zach goes home, Sylvanna’s ready for him. They shout in the kitchen. Sylvanna screams at him every single reason she has for leaving him. Even though he knows that he started it, Zach gets worked up. He’s not mad at Sylvanna he’s mad at himself. He throws the toaster out the window. Sylvanna kicks him out. Aphelia wakes up to the noise, and right as Zach is about to leave, Aphelia speaks “Daddy?” Sylvanna and Zach freeze. “…Where are you going?” The air was so thick you couldn’t have cut it with a knife. “…Daddy’s got to go to work, sweetheart,” Zach whispers. Aphelia’s eyebrows scrunch together, “And you’ll be back in the morning?” Silence. Slowly, Zach looks to Sylvanna. She balls her hands into fist but lowers her head. She turns back to the kitchen and walks out of sight. “Come on, sweetheart,” Zach says, “let’s get you back in bed.”
Zach puts her to bed again. She asks him to sing her a lullaby and he sings a song he used to sing to Livy and Maria when they were younger. When life was scary but like was simple. You run, you hide, you hate the beating and love the parents, you steal to eat stay together to stay alive and that was that. Aphelia asks Zach if he can read her a story. Zach chuckles and turns to her bookshelf, asking if she could stay awake that long. When he turned back, she was asleep. He smiled and looked down in his duffle bag. He’d had it packed for a month. The bottom were two buldges. One was a potion that lasted forever. One was the $60 bunny stuffed animal Aphelia had been asking for. Carefully Zach picked up both bundles. He left one on Aphelia’s nightstand with a note that said “Love, Daddy.” Then he walked downstairs to see Sylvanna pulling up the floorboards.
They kept his emergency medicine under the floorboard, for when he had severe allergic reactions. Cocobeans were one of the most common magical ingredients, and so he worked with it often. He told her if she left his medicine there, he would never come back. Not even for the rest of his stuff, he would send a friend to come get it. Heart broken and mad, Sylvanna agreed, pouring the floorboard back in place. Zach was half way out the door when Sylvanna called for him to come back. When he turned around, he met her cold stare. In Spanish, she told him, “Leave the house keys here.” He consented.
He walked out to his car, but when he started driving he couldn’t hold back the tears. He screamed and cursed and hit the steering wheel and said all the things he had wanted to say for 3 years. Eventually he pulled over and called Livy, told her he needed somewhere to stay the night. Zach had started light drinking since things things got worse with him and Sylvanna, but he never wanted to get addicted. Didn’t want to end up like his parents. Livy, the punk party girl she was, got drunk now and then since the loss of her husband. Maria still never picked up a bottle. When Zach arrived at Livy’s apartment, she handed him some wine.
He stared at her and she could she tear up and give him a knowing look. “It helps. …At first.” Livy had to go to a late night shift for work so Zach was there alone. He picked up the guitar played a song. Poured his heart and soul out and sung his grief and pain. Then he put down the guitar and never picked up a musical instrument again. Never song a word or hummed a note ever again. Sometimes, in the future, when he was really desperate and needed to get out of his head, he would write music. But he’d never sing it, never play it. Sometimes he’d still listen though, he couldn’t never deny he loved the art. He downed the bottle of whiskey and got drunk. Never got drunk again. But for that one night he had nothing else to loose.
In the morning, Zach goes to “work.” Garté confesses he gave the potion to his son, Garroth. Elizabeth to Katelyn. When Micheal asks about Aphelia, Zach tells the truth. Sylvanna kicked him out. He never had an opening. Micheal is furious and tells Elizabeth he should have made her have twins.
After the meeting, Garté is beside himself. Zach invites Garté and Derek to church with him later that day and they agree. They understand the message. Zach wants to talk to them the one place that Micheal can’t hear.
I’m church, Zach tells them his findings. Micheal is the name of the legendary Demon Warlock. A being feared. That’s all Zach could find. No other information exists about him. Zach also tells Garté not to worry. He put a loophole in the potions. Zach asked if Garroth’s eyes had turned green. Garté said yes. Zach smiled, saying that was good—good for THEM. Garroth’s eyes would not be green forever, but so long as they were green, the potion was not at its strongest. It could be broken. Zach couldn’t make an Anti-Potion. The only problem was… Zach needed one of the magical emeralds to do so, and Micheal and confiscated them. The three tried for two weeks to find the emeralds, but by the end of two weeks, Garroth’s eyes were back to blue, and nothing could be done. Garté was beside himself with grief.
Meanwhile, Sylvanna and Aphelia had moved out of town, to which Zach was grateful for. About a week later, Derek approached Zach in church. Derek told Zach that he and Garté had found an escape route. A full proof plan to get both them and their families away safely. Before Derek could say more, Zach cut him off. Micheal would never let me get away with that. You and Garté support this work financially. You two are crucial, but not indispensable. He will find ME. He will kill ME. And if not me then Sylvanna, or my daughter, one of my sisters or nephews. You two run and don’t look back, and I’ll contact you if he follows. And for a decade, that was the last time Derek and Zach saw each other.
Zach Ross part1.3
Soon after it’s very apparent something is fundamentally WRONG with Terri. Before long, their high school friend group is now a cult.
Livy consistently travels because of her job, and Maria owns a flower shop and stays out of cursed business, so the Ross sisters are safe (even if they both have different last names now). However, Derek, Elizabeth, Garté, and Zach are all forced into a cult that practically worships Terri. Except, he told them not to call him Terri anymore. They all assumed her wanted to be called Terrience, since Terri was a nickname, but no. He wanted to be called “Micheal.” Micheal was slowly twisting their moral beliefs, especially Elizabeth’s though it is unclear why she was so adamant about welcoming “his grace” while the rest were worried mad and carried. Garté once made a comment to Derek, “She acts like Micheal seduced her, and promised her she could sleep with him at night if she’s a ‘good girl’ in the day.” Derek told Garté not to talk like that, especially considering Elizabeth was married. However, it seemed very blunt that Elizabeth did not care about her marriage. She started hitting on Zach left and right. It made everyone uncomfortable.
The cult members had also started killing people. At first it was because Micheal said they had done something awful, then it was no witnesses, then it was hit list. Elizabeth enjoyed it, and Derek, Garté, and Zach were slowly becoming NH desensitized. But Zach swore to himself he wouldn’t forget about it. Zach had always been a talented artist.
One time, in high school, Sylvanna had come to school with a black eye and a bleeding back. When Zach found out, he was so mad. He took her out to the bleachers and out stitches in her back. He asked her to describe who beat her up, and he was able to draw each of the 5 students in perfect detail. (When Zach asked WHY Sylvanna got beat up, she told Zach that they didn’t like that she (Race #3) was dating someone like Zach (Race #1)). Zach drew the face of every single person the cult had ever killed, and put it up on a bulletin board in his office. It was an unhappy reminder of how far they had all fallen.
Zach got fired from his job as a witch doctor. Even though he was the best one there, it didn’t matter. The boss was Race #2 and didn’t like Race #1. Zach never told Sylvanna. Micheal started paying and Zach started working longer for him. Elizabeth quit and started working full time for Micheal as well. Derek and Garté each had their own businesses, but they used their business skills and resources to keep a steady income.
One day, Micheal told the members of the cult to steal these secret emeralds with magical properties that could make the effects of a position last forever. “It could revolutionize medicine,” he told them, and they blindly believed. The tool the emeralds, and Zach and Elizabeth awaited orders (they were in charge of making all of Micheal’s potions). Right off the bat, it was very apparent that he did not want to use the emeralds for the wellbeing of others. Zach had to make potions that would change the anatomy of children. Make them physically stronger when they were older, physically weaker. “Make their minds pliable and open to suggestion when key words are used.” It made Zach sick, and he couldn’t take it anymore. Elizabeth was excited, but Zach was just about at the end of his rope. The often kidnapped people for experiments, and for these they would have to kidnap kids. But a thought popped into Zach’s head that made him feel as if he had swallowed chocolate. Each and every single member of the cult was a parent.
Part 3
Part 4
Zach went to Derek and Garté pulled them aside in church’s, where he felt he should feel safe, and asked them how they really felt about the cult. They hated it. They wanted out. Apparently, Micheal had openly treated their wives and kids if they didn’t deliver. Zach warned them about the potions Micheal was having him and Elizabeth make. Zach turned to Derek. Garté, Elizabeth, and Zach had nicknamed Derek the “man of excuses,” bc if there was ever smt that Derek rlly wouldn’t let himself do, he’d always have some really good excuse and Micheal let him off the hook. Zach warned them that they needed to think of something to get their children out of getting tested on. Derek nodded, Garté paled. Zach told them when the potions were expected to be done and told them he was trying to make an antidote, but hadn’t figured it out yet. He reminded them that the emeralds were going to make the potion last FOREVER and that this wasn’t going to be something they could fix. The nodded. When Zach went back to work, Micheal cornered him. He moved the deadline a week sooner than expected and told Zach that if he failed, Sylvanna and Aphelia could be dead by the snap of Micheal’s fingers. Zach needed a plan to get his family out. He called Livy that night and told her everything. EVERYTHING everything. She knew the pain of loosing a spouse to horrors said spouse knew nothing about. Livy called Maria and told her what Zach told her. The three abused kids knew how to work in a system, knew how to work together to find solutions. Maria suggested education Sylvanna about the dangers of the cursed community and coming clean to her. But Livy… Livy was the one who planted the idea of divorce in his head.
Of course, it would be a little sus if one day Micheal threatened Zach’s wife and child, and the next day Zach came by saying he divorced his wife and dropped custody rights of his child. No no no. If this was going to work, if he was going to keep them SAFE, he needed Sylvanna to divorce him.
So he set his plan in motion. His plan to loose everything. Promises meant the WORLD AND MORE to Zach Ross. When Zach and Sylvanna had gotten married, Zach promised Sylvanna he would be a better husband than his father was to his mom. When Aphelia was born, Zach promised them both that he would be a better dad than his dad was to him. On the floor of the bathroom in his house that night, he swore not to brake those promises. But he also swore to bend them.
5 months later, Micheal announced that their children were going to be the lucky ones to test out the potions that lasted forever. Derek was ready with his excuses. Melissa was too old, she wasn’t in the targeted age group. And Aaron was just about out of the slots as well, not to mention he had the red eye condition, there was no telling if the potion would have the same effect on Aaron as it did the other children, why waste a precious emerald on a chance like that? Micheal agreed, the Lycan children were safe. Garté told his that Zane was too frail, so Micheal volentold Garroth. Garté did not have an excuse for Garroth. Micheal gave them each a potion (excluding Derek) to give to their children. The deadline was in a month. Their children HAD to take in within a month.
Elizabeth went home and fed the option to her only daughter on the first day. Derek about passed out of relief the moment he walked through the door of his home. Garté couldn’t stop shaking. Zach went back to completing his plan.
Part 4
Part 5
And his plan… is to neglect Sylvanna. He’s been doing so for months. Ignoring, commenting only when he says she did something wrong or if he needs something, making her believe that he’s neglecting their child which is leading to potential harm. But she hasn’t filed for divorce yet. He promised himself he wouldn’t abuse her or Aphelia but nothing is working. Then Micheal calls an emergency meeting. There aren’t enough kids. He says they need to “make new kids.” Elizabeth, being the only girl, would have to reproduce with someone. The men were mortified. Derek, the man of excuses, swiftly said that it couldn’t be him because of the red-eye condition. They couldn’t risk passing that down. Micheal agreed. So the chose was the between a Race #3 man (Garté) or a Race #1 man (Zach). Race #1 is often naturally physically stronger, and so Zach and Elizabeth and selected to have an affair, much to Elizabeth’s delight. Zach looses it. He SCREAMS that he won’t cheat on his wife, and if Micheal thinks he will then he’s out of his mind. Micheal thrusts his hand in front of him, not even touching Zach, and Zach is thrown back, smashing right through the wall and landing in a pile of rubble. No one said a word. Micheal walked away. Derek and Garté scrambled over to help him. “So,” Elizabeth said, walking over calmly. “My place or yours?” “How about hell?” Zach spat. Elizabeth crouched down low and hummed. Zach growled deep in his throat, a more primal instinct for Race #1s. Elizabeth walked out. Two days later, Zach was held at gun point and forced to take off his pants and impregnate Elizabeth. Micheal sped up the process. Elizabeth screamed in pain the entire time as Micheal expanded the egg. By the time Zach was properly loathed again, Elizabeth looked 9 months pregnant. “You may go,” Micheal told him. “Your assistance is no longer required.” Zach, suddenly worried about Elizabeth for th sake of old times said, “But, I’m a doctor. Shouldn’t I-?” “I said you may go,” Micheal cut off. Elizabeth screamed again. She was giving birth. “Everything here is just fine.” Numbly, Zach walked out.
Zach Ross part1.2
When Zach graduates high school, he and Sylvanna are going to go to different colleges. So after graduation, Zach proposes and they get married. Zach goes to a prestigious college for Witch Doctors and Sylvanna goes to her college. They come back each other’s embrace by the end of the day. The misfits go global and they 6 of them become idol popstars. They preform live and go on world tours. But they still prioritize being anonymous (to an extent). Derek tells the world his name is Daren (after his brother), Zach says his name is River, Garté=Gerig, Terri=Troy, Tessa=Orchid, and Elizabeth=Kay. During one live preformance, Derek spots Livy in the audience and callls her up on stage. She starts dancing with them and Zach as River calls her Brooke, declaring her his little sister and telling the world that she’s an honorary member of the Misfits. When Livy graduates, she takes a gap year and travels around the world. One day she’s passing through the town they all grew up in (before the divorce) and asks Zach to come with her. They go to a coffee shop and see a waitress with a familiar name…
(There’s two things I need to add here because they were part of the first half but I forgot. Terri dad went missing when Terri was in high school and was never found, leaving Terri and orphan. Derek’s family got “exposed” (a branch of government known only as The GF discovered them and shot Mrs. Lycan. Mr. Lycan lost control and killed most of the troops before the rest killed him. Mr. Lycan’s best friend Rowan was able to escape with Daren and Derek, but while they were running away, a GF soldier spotted them. To cover their tracks, Daren ran back to the house (the soldier followed) and both were burned alive. Shortly after Terri’s dad died, Terri came to Zach with an odd request. He told Zach that since Zach was superstitious, he would know the answer. He asked Zach how you know when you’re possessed. Zach gave him a wide eyed look and told him he’d do him one better. An hour later, Zach handed Terri a checklist written on notebook paper. The front side listed all the symptoms of being possessed, and the back side listed what to DO when you’re possessed. Terri never brought it up again, and Zach decided it was just a fling).
Part 1
Part 2
The waitress first catches Zach and Livy’s attention by her hair color. A beautiful indigo. They remember that their sister Maria had a natural indigo hair color. And when the waitress came to take their order… the name tag read “Maria-Pearl.” Zach and Livy stared at each other for a moment, not believing their eyes, and Zach decided the best form of confrontation was confirmation. Zach and Livy said they wanted to split the bill, so they each needed to give a name for their half of the order. To confirm their suspicions, they each gave their FULL NAMES for the order. “Zach Lucus Ross” and “Olivia Charlote Ross.” They watched the not so subtle halt of the waitresses pen and their hearts kept in hope. She didn’t say a word as she walked away to deliver the order. When she came back she had apparently decided to try the same strategy, not so subtly going, “you two don’t happen to be related to a Lucus Ross, do you?” Zach swiftly responded with a “yes, he’s our father.” Livy jumped in LESS subtly, going “while we’re on the topic of family relations, do YOU happen to be related to Lucus Ross?” Through a tear clogged throat, Maria replied with a laugh, “yes, he’s my father!” The three of them hugged, right there in the coffee shop, the Ross kids finally reunited after so many years. They clicked back into place just as if they never left. They swapped diaries to catch themselves up on each other’s lives. Maria (who was going by Maria-Pearl now) cried when she learned that Carlota was dead. Maria-Pearl also gave the news that Lucus had gotten remarried to a woman named Lupieda, who had by and large raised Maria-Pearl after Zach and Livy had been forced to leave. Livy was a little weary of Lupieda, simply bc she didn’t like the idea of her father remarrying, but Zach shook her hand and told Lupieda that she was the personification of every answer to every prayer Zach every prayed in his sister’s name. Lupieda cried. Livy and Zach met their dad again. He looked to be in worse shape than he left them. Zach pulled Lupieda aside privately and asked her if Lucus ever beat her, ever abused her. She said no without fear, and Zach was overwhelmingly relieved. Maria-Pearl was so happy to hear where Zach and Livy now lived, because that’s where she was planning to go to college. Maria-Pearl went back to town with her siblings and stayed in touch her Lupieda for the rest of her life.
Zach introduced Maria-Pearl as yet another honorary member of the Misfits, she went by the stage name Pearl and began to go by Maria again privately.
Livy never went to college but often visited Zach and Maria at their colleges. During one of these visits she met a man named David Linkton who was studying computer science. Little did she know that David would one day be her husband.
When Livy and David got engaged, they all went to Maria’s college and Maria’s dorm to tell her that she was the only single Misfit. Derek and Rachel had gotten married, Garté and Ziana were married, Terri and Tessa were married, Elizabeth had married Eric, Zach was married to Sylvanna, and now Livy was marrying David. But when Derek, Garté, Zach, Livy, Terri, Tessa, and Elizabeth all went to her dorm, they found Maria having fun with a man in her bed. Livy ran out laughing telling everyone to leave, but Zach marched right in there. Warning that if Maria was pregnant then they had to get married. The guy thought Zach was kidding.
After two weeks, the pregnancy test came back positive. After Livy and David got married and came back from their honeymoon, Zach told the man (James) to pick out a ring and propose. Maria was not amused at first, but by make out session number 2 with James, she was sold. The two got married and had a son named Gene.
By the time Gene was born, Derek and Rachel already had a daughter named Melissa. Gene was born around the same time as Derek’s second baby Aaron. Aaron was a boy, and carried the same red-eye condition as Derek and his father had. Zach, being a full fledged witch-doctor at this point, helped in delivering both Lycan children.
Elizabeth had many children. Kayden (boy), Kaleb (boy), Katelyn (girl), and Kacey (boy). Jumping ahead to when all our main character had children, the order goes as follows: Maria and James had sons Gene and Danté. Derek and Rachel and a daughter named Melissa and a son named Aaron. Terri and Tessa had a son named Travis. Zach and Sylvanna had a daughter named Aphelia. Garté and Ziana had two sons named Garroth and Zane (Ziana had a child with another man and named that child Vylad [Garté and Ziana raised Vylad]). Aphelia, Vylad, Zane, and Travis are the same age; Aaron, Kayden, and Gene are the same age, Kacey is a year younger than Aphelia; Katelyn, Garroth, and Danté are the same age; Kaleb and Melissa are the same age.
Zach faced racism at his job while Derek and Garté founded their own companies. Elizabeth joined Zach’s work and faced no racism, being that she was Race #3. Tessa was a stay at home mom and no one really knows what Terri did. Then one day, Tessa was killed. They were all supposed to have a group date at Derek’s house. Elizabeth and Eric had canceled, as always, and Terri and Tessa were running late. Tessa showed up bleeding green and hyperventilating. Zach, being a doctor, tried to help her but nothing was working. Wondering if this had something to do with the cursed community, Rachel took Sylvanna and Ziana into the kitchen and knocked them out. The cursed community was made up of people with similar situations as the red-eye condition. Derek got scared for Tessa’s safety, his eyes turned red and he could not tame them. Since Garté was Race #3, he was asked to leave the room.
Tessa started having a seizure and Zach begged Derek to come over and hold her down while he worked. In case this did have something to do with the cursed community, they didn’t want to take her to the hospital. No one was able to reach Terri. Derek didn’t want to get too close to Tessa bc his eyes still were not tame and Tess was a member of Race #3. But Tessa had her eyes closed and Derek agreed. It was successful and Zach was able to get her to stabilize. The sighed deep breathes of relief, but when Zach turned away from the monitors and back to Tessa, her body red something different. It was rigid, her mouth was open tightly, her eyes wide opened, and she looked straight out of a horror movie. Zach yelled in surprise, and Derek quickly turned towards Tessa to see what was wrong. “Derek—Wait-DON’T—“ but it was too late. Tessa’s eyes were open and were staring into Derek’s eyes. She SCREAMED. Derek jumped off of her as Tessa’s face contorted in pain. She thrashed and then she died. There was nothing anyone could do. Her last words were “it’s all MICHEAL! Terri is GONE! TRAvis…” and then she was dead.
They called the police and walked Melissa through what to say. Melissa told the police that her parents are out on a date when Melissa heard the front door open. She heard a voice and she didn’t recognize it, so she grabbed her little brother Aaron, hid in the closet, and called the cops. That’s the lie she told to the authorities. Zach took an unconscious Sylvanna back home and had a panic attack in the bathroom. The next morning, after Sylvanna was awake (with little to no memory of last night) Zach suddenly remembered “TRAvis…” Zach went sit Terri’s house with Sylvanna as a tag along bc she was stubborn and wouldn’t take no for an answer. What happened was out of a horror movie, so I’ll leave out the details, but in short the house was a wreck. Zach found Terri passed out on top of the table. Next to the broken fridge, Zach saw a note in his own handwriting he hadn’t seen in a long time. It was a check list. Every single box marked off. Zach’s blood ran cold. They went upstairs and finally found Travis. Sylvanna, who love babies, scooped him up and rocked him until he stopped crying. Zach turned around, about to say it was time to go, when he saw a wide eyed Terri standing at the top of the stairs. Unmoving. Unblinking. Terri’s mouth slowly opened, trace along fangs. Zach didn’t waste any time. He told Sylvanna to hold Travis tight to her check and the he grabbed Sylvanna and the jumped out the window. Zach landed on his back protecting his wife and his friends’ baby from the fall. The ran back to Zach’s house and Zach made sure Sylvanna, Travis, and Infant Aphelia were safe in the safe room.
Week later, After Tessa’s funeral and everything, Terri asked for his baby back. Legally, there was nothing Zach could do but hand back Travis. Sylvanna didn’t and couldn’t know the dangers, but Zach did. From that point forward, anything bad that ever happened in Travis’s life Zach blamed himself for.
After Tessa’s death, the Misfits announced that Orchid was dead and the band was breaking up. David took it upon himself to delete every online picture, video, interview, and or anything with the face of a misfit from the face of the earth. Even privately posted or privately saved photos and videos and GIFS were just gone. Years later, no one would know what the misfits looked like. All merch with their faces vanished. Thank you pro hacker David. Only problem was, David didn’t know about the cursed community.
Livy worked for the government as a spy for Derek, smuggling information in case the government found out about the red eye condition. David would often blindly help, but he was ignorant. This ended up getting him killed. While Livy was out working, 3 men broke into the apartment and shot David. He didn’t make it. Livy had to tell people outside of her siblings that he died of a sudden heart attack. She never really fully recovered after that.
Zach Ross part1.1
When Zach and Livy move away, the start in a new town and a slightly nicer house. Carlota still beats them and is still a drunk, but she’s more… subtly about it. It’s not well known, the abuse that still happens at the Ross house in this new town (Carlota did not have enough money to change her name back to Nussy). Zach and Livy were still not enrolled in school, but they had bigger problems to worry about. Since the divorce, Carlota had become a devoured racist. Being Race #3, and Lucus being Race #1, she decided to passionately hate and wish ill upon all Race #1. As you can imagine, this was not good news for Zach and Livy. There is this certain physical characteristic about Race #1 that Race #3 does not have. Race #2 has something similar to Race #1, but not exactly the same. And unlike Race #2, Race #1 can chose to physically hide this characteristic. However, this is something learned. While Zach knew how to do this, Livy did not. If they were in the house with these characteristics showing, Carlota would beat them. Zach had to get a beanie for Livy to always wear and tied a jacket around her waist to hide these things from sight.
Abuse at home became more and more unbearable. Zach knew he had to familiarize Livy and himself with the new area and so he would often take long walks with Livy and always make sure they could find their way back to the house. Once they understood the lay out and the way around, the perimeter continued to get bigger on where they could walk to (this also helped them to get away from Carlota). Eventually the found a large high school building. Zach and Livy had never been to school.
Then Carlota started poisoning their food. Using a type of food that was non-toxic to Race #3, in fact, it was a common treat, but it was a well known fact that all of Race #1 was highly allergic to the food. Carlota began coating every single meal she cooked for them with the food, and it became extremely dangerous to eat at home. Carlota would serve them food and not let them leave the table until their plates were licked clean. This scarred Livy and Zach half to death. But there was a saving grace… for Livy. Every single dinner time (the only time Carlota made food), Carlota would fill their plates, make sure they were seated, and then leave to the kitchen for her bottle of wine to drink for the meal. While she was gone, Zach grabbed Livy’s plate and dumped everything onto his own. When Carlota came back, Livy (under Zach’s instruction) claimed to have eaten it all and asked to be excused. Carlota allowed it. And Zach was left to eat twice as much poison as originally planned. And he did so. Often he could not finish and began violently throwing up, in which cases Carlota would beat him with her newly purchased whip. Because of this, in later years such as adult hood, Zach developed high sensitivity to the food. And because it was so common, he had to avoid certain places. If he so much as breathed it in, he would start to break out in hives, it would give him an a asthma attack (he only had asthma when around this food, but had to carry and inhaler anyway), his throat would close up, along with many other violent symptoms. If he breathed it in it was more mild, if he touched it then it would put hives just in that spot, if he ate it it was incredibly bad. Dinner time was not a good time. When older, Zach would have to avoid certain cafes bc of the extreme food allergy.
One day things are just too much. ALL the food is poisoned, so Livy can’t eat anything. They have to steal again, but it’s getting harder without their three person system. Zach has nightmares about Maria and Livy. Finally Zach takes a big risk. He goes to the high school and begs for him and Livy to be enrolled. Livy is too young (it’s a high school) but Zach insists she’s smart enough to do it. When asked about previous formal education, Zach admitted they had none. When the principal said they needed parent signatures, Zach said he could bring home any paperwork to his mother. The principal insists to meet his mother in person, Livy jumps in and says their mother is bed ridden. Despite protocols, the principal senses something was off and let the siblings go with the paperwork. The principal’s husband happened to be a police officer, and she asked him to do some digging without drawing attention. Meeting the children under the guise of a staff member, the principal’s husband said he suspected that there may be some abuse in the home, and school was the children’s way of escaping. He encouraged his wife to let them in. Livy had to take a series of tests so she could skip a grade and be a freshman. Zach was put in as a sophomore (as was appropriate for his age). Both Zach and Livy struggled in the classroom, not because they were dumb, but because they didn’t have the basics.
Oh! And let me clarify. Zach is old enough to be a highschool somphmore, and Livy should be in 8th grade (she’s a freshman though). Zach also forged his mother’s signature on every piece of paperwork.
Ok. They both struggled in the classroom, and so the principal gave Livy a private tutor to fill in the gaps. Zach got a student tutor, and all a star student named Derek Lycan.
Derek had an older brother named Daren, and they lived with their parents Mr. and Mrs. Lycan. They were a well off family, but they had a secret. All members of the family were Race #1, but via hiding their characteristics, they lived their lives pretending to be Race #3.
Also, when going to school, Zach and Livy did NOT hide their characteristics. They did at first, just because the racism at home got them scared. But because no hats were allowed inside the building, Livy had to take off her beanie and she still didn’t know how to hide so Zach showed his too to make her feel more safe. It was a mixed school, and there were plenty of Race #1s, #2s, and #3s.
No no no. NO ONE knows that the Lycan family are actually Race #1. EVERYONE thinks that they’re Race #3
Nobody hides their race like the Lycans do. They are one in the whole entire world, nobody does that. Let’s move on.
Ok, so Derek is tutoring Zach and quickly learns Zach has no idea what he’s doing. His mother buys him a kindergarten book to teach Zach from, and Zach flies through it. In no time they’re caught up to where they’re supposed to be, and Derek is impressed with how fast Zach can learn. However, out of no where, Zach seems to be struggling again and Derek doesn’t understand it. He explains it to Zach in every way he knows how and Zach continues to get the wrong answer. Mrs. Lycan is a school teacher for an elementary school, and Derek asks her advice. Zach is caught up to what they’re learning in class now, but for some reason he still doesn’t get it. Derek makes a packet for Zach do (Zach and Livy’s tutoring is afterschool in school for an hour) and lets Zach work on that while Derek does other homework. When it’s time to go, Zach hands the completed packet to Derek and leaves for home with Livy. Derek looks through it only to discover that Zach got every single question wrong. Handing the packet over to Mrs. Lycan, Derek asks her advice. Mrs. Lycan’s eyebrows furrow as she sees something Derek overlooked. Zach had solved the problem correctly, erased it, and then solve it incorrectly with the wrong answer on EVERY SINGLE QUESTION. This was discovered bc of the poor eraser that was being used. Derek took it as Zach was second guessing himself, but Mrs. Lycan corrected him. It seemed like Zach knew what he was doing, but was getting them wrong on purpose. Derek asked why Zach would do that and Mrs. Lycan thought for a moment.
“When are your tutoring sessions?”
“After school.”
“How long are they supposed to be?”
“About an hour.”
“How long are the usually?”
“About two, but that’s only because Zach gets them all wro—“
“Well there’s your answer.”
Mrs. Lycan suspects that Zach was trying to draw out the tutoring, maybe he didn’t want to go home. When she learned that his little sister did tutoring as well, Mrs. Lycan grew a little worried. She told Derek to invite them both over for dinner. The next day at tutoring, Derek said that if they finished in their actual time slot, Zach and Livy could come over for dinner. Z ach seemed hesitant at first, but ultimately agreed (after Livy overheard and begged). That day, Zach got all the questions right. When Livy and Zach walked home with Derek, Daren greeted the Ross’s at the door. When they saw the set table, Zach’s jaw dropped and Livy gasped, saying it was the most food she had ever seen in her entire life.
The Lycan family prayed before the food, a practice the Ross’s were not accustomed to. Back in the town they grew up in, Zach was religious so he prayed before meals. Because he and Maria could not agree on what to teach Livy (they acted more like her parents than their actual parents), Zach would close his eyes and twirl his fork in his fingers while he said a prayer in his head. Maria and Livy would wait patiently. Then Zach would open his eyes and push his food on his plate around, signaling he was done with his prayer (Livy didn’t know he was praying) and that his sisters could eat. Since it was just Zach and Livy, because of the food that Race #1 was allergic to and Race #3 was not, Livy pushed her plate towards Zach and he took her fork and inspected her food to make sure it was safe. Then he gave her plate back to her and said “clear.” Then Zach would eat his own food. Livy knew the system as “Zach eats first.”
The Lycans prayed to bless the food, and Zach pushed his food around on his plate to signal to Livy that it was ok to pass her food to him. He inspected her food, drawing the attention of Mr. and Mrs. Lycan (on the way to the Lycan’s house, Zach had told Livy to tie her jacket round her waist and put on her beanie while Zach hid his characteristics. They didn’t know how Derek’s family felt about Race #1). Mrs. Lycan asked if there was something wrong, and Livy answered before Zach could say anything. “He’s seeing if it’s safe.”
Mrs. Lycan asks if there’s anything that they’re allergic too. No one in this new town knows of the Ross’s predicament, and Zach had told Livy not to mention it (they don’t want police involvement), but Livy answers anyway, “chocolate.” (Chocolate is the allergy in Race #1 but not Races #2&3)
Zach doesn’t want Livy to mention anything, as this is a known allergen to Race #1, but Daren speaks up, asking why there would be any chocolate in Lasagna and salad and mashed potatoes. Livy starts to answer but Zach clears his throat. He doesn’t trust these people, he just needs food and anywhere but home. The mood is uncomfortable. Mr. and Mrs. Lycan try to make small talk, but Zach isn’t inclined to say much. Mr. Lycan asks what their parents do for work, Livy says she doesn’t know if they do work. Zach swiftly lies, saying they do, but has to admit the jobs are part time and inconsistent. In reality their mother gambles and sells drugs. Livy perkes up, saying Zach is right and their mom does have a job, “that’s why there’s always so much money to buy wine.” Zach stuff food into Livy’s mouth immediately.
Though the meal is slightly awkward, Zach and Livy both meaningfully thank the Lycans for dinner. Livy adds that it’s the most she’s eaten in years, despite Zach’s pinching. They leave and Mrs. Lycan calls out that they were welcome whenever they wanted. As soon as they’re gone, Daren double checks with Derek that they’re both Race #1, to which Derek confirms. Mr. Lycan asks Derek if he’s ever seen either of them in short sleeves, to which Derek, upon reflection, says no. Mr. and Mrs. Lycan understand that there may be potential abuse and they talk to their children about abuse families and how abused children often act. Mrs. Lycan disclaims that they don’t know for sure, but that she’d like Derek to put more of an effort into being Zach’s friend rather than just his tutor. After a few months, Derek invites Zach to sit with him at the school cafeteria. Derek introduces Zach to his friends: Terri and Garté, and Elizabeth and Tessa. Zach sits with them and they all make sure he’s included. Terri is the class clown, Garté is the popular guy all the girls are crazy about, Elizabeth is a “bad girl” and Tessa is sweet and innocent. Over the school year, the all get really close, especially Garté Terri Zach and Derek, and they have fun together. They hang out with each other after school (Livy tags along), and Derek even calls Zach his best friend. Derek and Zach are now top of the class and can do crazy math equations. Even still, it seems EVERYONE is copying off of Derek’s homework 🤣. They four even start a band called the misfits. Derek plays base, Garté plays drums, Terri plays electric paino and Zach plays guitar. Lucus used to play the guitar and Zach would always play and sing for Livy and Maria. All three Ross kids were incredibly musically talented. Stuff at home continues to escalate, but Zach and Livy are barely ever home any more. Zach arranges sleep overs almost every night for Livy, and gives his own phone number to her friends moms pretending to be Carlota. They have a system now and it works.
Garté has this girlfriend named Ziana, has since Zach met him, and Zach starts developing a crush on Ziana’s best friend Sylvanna. His friends notice and tease him about it relentlessly, in turn Zach turns it around on Derek and calls him out for his crush Rachel. But before this, before girls and romance… something changed towards the end of sophomore year in math class.
Something was wrong with Derek. Nobody knew what. Terri was out of town on a trip with his old man, the Garté, Derek, and Zach all sat next to each other (Derek in the middle). When Zach and Garté walked in, Derek already had his head down on his desk. He would respond when they asked what was wrong. The teacher called on Derek to answer a question and Derek didn’t say anything. Zach tried to make an excuse for him, but the Race #3 teacher was racist and wouldn’t listen to him. Garté (Race #3) then tried to defend Derek but didn’t know what to say. Bc the teacher was facing Garté and had her back turned to Zach, Zach was able to use sign language to tell Garté what to say (Zach knew sign language from his days with Livy and Maria bc they needed a silent form of communication, and he taught it to his new friends). The teacher then let it slide. Further into class, without warning, derek shot up and bolted out the door. Zach and Garté started at what just happened, then at each other. As typical for people in Race #1 (they all feel the unexplainable urge to jump out windows [don’t ask, I’m race #3, I have no idea[), Zach asked to be excused, and when the teacher said “YOY MAY NOT WALK OUT THIS DOOR” he jumped out the window. Garté asked to go to the bathroom and was allowed. After a moment of silence a boy in the class (Eric) raised his hand. The teacher asked if he wanted to leave as well. Eric simply told her that all three boys were close friends. The teacher quit on the spot. Zach landed safely and shook off the broken glass. Garté ran outside to meet him and they both looked for Derek. Zach spotted him on the far side of the field and they both ran to catch up. The gym coach spotted them and chased them. “You go,” Garté told him, “you’re a faster runner, I’ll cover for you two.” Zach told him thanks and ran off after Derek.
When Zach finally catches up to Derek, he grabs Derek by the wrist and Derek whips around and screams at Zach to leave. In shock, Zach lets go and watches Derek run. Now, there was something off about Derek’s eyes, and Zach recognizes it bc he’s superstitious. Secretly, Derek and Mr. Lycan have this secret thing about their eyes. They can turn there eyes red, and when done it turns anyone from Race #3 into Race #1. Because Zach is already Race #1, he is unaffected, but is familiar with the condition bc of his superstition. It was thought unreal and fake, but the condition exists. That’s why the Lycans pretend to be Race #3. After collecting his thoughts, Zach is silently grateful that Garté chose to stay behind bc Garté was Race #3. Zach chases after Derek and they end up at the top of the roof. In horror, Zach watches Derek leap off. Instinctively, Zach lunges and catches Derek by the wrist in both hands. They dangle there for a moment, and Zach shouts at Derek “it’s either we BOTH die RIGHT NOW or we BORT live RIGHT NOW! You understand?! You try to wiggle out, and I slide off this roof, so you let me help you back up here RIGHT NOW because I have a sister to take care of and you have a family to go back to so make up your mind NOW!” Derek stares in shock and numbly nods, letting Zach pull him up.
And let’s be clear on Derek’s condition. He is the ONLY ONE IS THE WORLD with it. It’s a condition that the bad guys have in fairy tales, it isn’t supposed to be real. But in Derek’s family, it’s passed down from father to son. So Mr. Lycan has it and Derek has it but NOT Daren and obviously not Mrs. Lycan.
Another thing I wanted to clear up is that Eric was calling them OUT, not praising them.
Zach pulls up Derek and the two talk. Derek tells Zach about his condition, and Zach responds “Cool.” This was beyond the best outcome Derek could’ve realistically hoped for. Derek confessed that his eyes had been red all morning and nothing he did would “tame” them. Zach wasn’t familiar with actually interacting with the magically red eyes from legend, but his experience with Maria and Livy did teach him how to make normal red eyes bright again. He distracted Derek by telling him how he jumped out the window. Filled him with a bunch of stories and how excited he was that his superstition was correct. Derek’s eyes tamed and the two hugged. Derek made Zach promise not to tell ANYONE. Derek wouldn’t even tell him own parents that Zach knew, and Zach promised. After about a week, Garté noticed something was off. Eventually, conceding to Garté’s jealousy, Derek told him everything. Garté replied “cool,” and Derek lit up. After Derek left, Zach leaned over and whispered to Garté, “you have no idea what that means, so you?” Garté whispered back, “no, but I assumed you’d tell me after he left.”
After a while they all agreed to tell Terri when he got back from his trip. When the told Terri the name of Derek’s condition, it was clear he had never heard of it before. “Congratulations!” “I’m sorry for you loss?” Zach signed for Terri to say “cool,” but by then Derek caught on and explained to Terri what exactly it was that he had. In the end, Terri said “cool.” (Garté and Terri are both Race #3)
It’s the beginning of Junior year now, and Zach’s feelings for Sylvanna grow. Just one problem: she has a boyfriend. And that boyfriend is Eric. But Zach’s crush isn’t the only thing that gets stronger, his allergic reactions to chocolate do as well. Soon he can’t even eat in the cafeteria because he’ll get asthma. He eats in the music room instead, and when his friends find out, they join him. They start practicing in their band more and more and preform often at school events. When Livy cant find anyone to have a sleepover with, Zach would often ask one of his friends to take her in. After Elizabeth and Tessa joined the band, Livy often stayed with Tessa. Even though Zach trusted his friends, he was always more comfortable having a girl watch over Livy instead of a guy. Derek’s family rules didn’t allow anyone to stay over night (bc of their condition the family was very private), Garté had sisters so Livy usually stayed with him. Tessa and Terri and Elizabeth all didn’t have any siblings, and Livy liked Tessa the best. Further developments: Zach realized that Derek hide to hide his Race #1 charactistics to pass off as Race #3, so even at school Zach decided to also hide his characteristics. Most ppl already knew he was Race #1 and it wasn’t a big deal to hide your characteristics, so no one said anything. But in Zach’s own words, “if you have to do it, I have to do it. What are best friends for?” While it wasn’t UNcomfortable to keep your characteristics hidden, it was much MORE comfortable to have them out, so this was a change, considering Zach wasn’t allowed to have them out at home.
One day, while on the way to the music room for lunch, Eric shouts at the group to stop. Derek, Garté, Terri, Tessa, Elizabeth, and Zach are all confused, but watch as Eric stomps over to them. A few people from Eric’s table shout at him to stop and come back, a few others from around the cafeteria quietly start chanting “fight, fight, fight.” Ziana (who sits at the table with Eric) yells and Garté and his friends to run. Confused and cautious, Zach steps up asking what the matter seems to be. Eric tells him that he knows Zach likes “his girl.” Someone spilled the tea and started a rumor that Zach had a crush on Sylvanna and Eric heard it. Eric says if Zach likes her so much, then he’d fight for her. Zach shifts his feet, hyper aware that he can’t step into the cafeteria. Zach also realizes that Eric (who is Race #3) probably doesn’t know that Zach is Race #1 (Zach hides his characteristics), otherwise Eric probably wouldn’t have tried to start a fight with him. Race #1 is typically naturally stronger than Race #3, ofc not always, a Race #1 who’s never tried to work out would probably loose a fight to a Race #3 body builder, but still. Eric throws a punch and Zach easily dodges. Not only does he have Race #1 genetics, but he used to being hit. Surprised, Eric continued to try and fight him but misses every time. People are openly cheering now. “FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!” Derek warns the rest of his friends not to interfere, recognizing that Zach has the situation under control, but then Livy comes over and tells Eric to leave her big brother alone. Sensing a possible danger, Zach jumps INTO THE CAFETERIA and gets in front of her. His friends pale as Zach immediately starts coughing, but he seems otherwise fine. Then the food fight starts. Eric throws food and some of the bigger stuff Zach can’t dodge all the way. Eric gets closer and Zach trying to dodge some poor kids spaghetti, and when Zach turns back around, his getting a giant. CHOCOLATE. Cupcake shoved in his mouth.
Livy screams and Zach immediately tries clawing it out of his mouth. It’s a huge cupcake, one that’s meant to be eaten with a spoon. It’s chocolate with chocolate chips in it, chocolate frosting with chocolate sprinkles and chocolate chips. It has chocolate filling in the middle and is too big to get out without chewing. Zach starts coughing and starts getting hives. Confused and scarred, Eric slowly backs away. Derek, Garté, and Terri all rush to help while Tessa picks up and screaming and crying Livy and Elizabeth runs to get the school nurse.
He starts breaking out in hives and hacks up chocolate, still unable to get the cupcake out. Terri gets behind him and starts doing the procedure you do when someone is choking. Chocolate cupcake goes everywhere and Zach is having an asthma attack. Sylvanna and Ziana rush over. Sylvanna shoves Eric hard, yelling at him that she told him not to and telling him that they’re done. Ziana asks what happened and just then, because of the loss of control, Zach’s Race #1 characteristics show. People gasp and some of the Race #1 students get mad and claim Eric tried to kill him. Zach can’t breathe and the nurse comes and calls an ambulance. Zach goes in a coma for 2 weeks.
When Zach wakes up from his coma, things turn around a little bit, but not all in a good way. Carlota discovers they’ve been going to school, and even though Mrs. Lycan pays the medical bill, Carlota is furious. When Zach fully recovers and is back in school, Sylvanna says she’s sorry for her EX-boyfriend’s behavior and wants to make it up to Zach. Shyly, after school. She kisses Zach on the cheek, leaving Zach stunned. Derek encourages him to go after Sylvanna and when Zach asks her why she kissed him she shrugs. She tries to playfully kiss him again, this time on the mouth, but Zach melts into it. His sudden muscle relax is contagious and suddenly it’s a wholesome make out session. After that, they start dating.
By the end of junior year, Derek tells Tessa and Elizabeth about his condition. Derek and Rachel have just started dating, and The Misfits are doing pretty well for themselves. Sylvanna and Zach are dating seriously, and Terri asked out Tessa. Garté and Ziana are still together and Livy won an award for highest grades in her classes! Yes, things are looking up… until… 2nd quarter of Zach’s senior year (Livy’s Junior year). Livy can’t find anyone to have a sleep over with, so she has to go with one of Zach’s friends. Livy has been staying at Sylvanna’s house more and more, but Sylvanna’s parents said no that night. Tessa’s said no, Elizabeth wouldn’t be home, Garté’s parents were out of town, and it was always a no for Derek. Terri even tried, but it was still a no from his parents too. So Garté asked his girlfriend. Ziana was more than happy to, but Zach wasn’t too sure, especially since he lost his phone and wouldn’t be able to text her. Livy said she was more grown up now, and Ziana and Garté both assured that everything would be fine. So Zach let Livy go home with Sylvanna… but something wasn’t right. Zach stayed at the school all night to help with something, and come morning at school (before first period) Zach couldn’t find Livy. He was mildly worried at first, but that worry soon turned into panic. He ran around campus and couldn’t find her. Eventually he found Ziana and frantically asked her where Livy was. She looked confused and told him she dropped Livy off at Zach and Livy’s house at 10 o’clock last night like Zach asked her too. Zach paled and reminded her it was supposed to be overnight! Ziana was confused and pulled out her phone, saying that Zach had texted her to drop Livy off. Zach told her that he had lost his phone— and then he knew what had happened. Carlota must have found his phone and tricked Ziana into sending Livy home.
Zach runs over to his house as fast as he can. His friends piece together the situation and the follow him in Garté’s truck. The go to Zach’s house to find the place surrounded by police cars. It’s Zach’s greatest fear. The racist officers don’t let Zach in and so Sylvanna (being Race #3) has to go and vouch for him. Zach runs around the house to try and find Livy. She locked herself in the closet and the police hadn’t even tried to brake down the door. Zach took matters into his own hands and did it himself to find his littlest sister passed out from blood-loss. Carlota had gotten drunk and tried to kill Livy. When Livy locked herself in the closet and Carlota couldn’t stab her anymore, Carlota killed herself. Zach was overstimulated and didn’t know what to do. Sylvanna, the love of his life, grabbed him by the face and told him to lock in. Said it anyone could do it it was him. The racist officers wouldn’t call an ambulance, so Zach had to fix Livy himself. Sylvanna went to answer questions for the police, and Zach did what he could to help Livy. One officer came over and told Zach that he was also Race #1. Told Zach that he was a witch doctor and used magic to heal injuries. The witch doctor officer showed and helped Zach with Livy and she woke up. Since then, Zach and Livy moved into a trailer in the Lycan’s driveway, and Zach swore on his life that he would be a witch doctor.
Zach Ross part1
Let me map out a family tree first, ok?
His name is Zach Lucus Ross. His parents are Lucus Ross and Carlota Ross (her maiden name was Nussy). Zach had two little sisters: Maria Pearl Ross (1 year younger) and Olivia “Livy” Charlote Ross (2 years younger). Lucus and Ross divorced; Lucus got remarried to a woman named Lupieda, Lupieda became ONLY Maria’s step mom (Lucus got full custody of Maria, Carlota got full custody of Zach and Livy). Carlota committed killed herself. Zach married Sylvanna Shakalaka (who changed her last name to Ross) and they had a daughter named Aphelia Ross. Livy got married to David Linkton (and changed her last name to Linkton). Maria got married to James Placeholder (and changed her last name to Placeholder). Maria had a son named Gene, and two years later had another son named Danté. David died. Sylvanna divorced Zach and got full custody of Aphelia (she changed both her last name and her daughter’s last name to Shakalaka). Livy got remarried to Toby Nathanson (and changed her last name accordingly).
Before I dive in, there’s something else you need for context. There are four races that we are going to dive into. First and foremost is Hispanic/Mexican. Sylvanna and Lupieda are Mexican, Aphelia is Hispanic, and Maria/Gene/Danté were raised in Hispanic culture, thanks to Lupieda’s impact on Maria. Zach, Livy, Maria, Danté, Gene, Aphelia, Sylvanna, Lupieda, James (and when David was alive) all speak Spanish. Then there are 3 subcategory races. Race #1, Race #2, and Race #3. You can be any ethnicity and or race and ALSO fit into one of the subcategories. In fact, everyone is at least one actual race and one subcategory races. Race #1: this race includes Lucus, Zach, Livy, and Aphelia. There is Race #2, and that includes no one we’ve mentioned thus far. Then there is Race #3, and that includes everyone else that we’ve mentioned that does NOT fall under Race #1.
Oh! Whoops! David is Race #1, not Race #3
The subcategory races are biological. Race #3 is by far the most dominant race. Race #2 is vastly accepted and is very similar to Race #3. Race #1 is often discriminated against, but by and large it is accepted. There are stereotypes that pit Race #1 and Race #2 together, and ofc some ppl are living breathing stereotypes, but for the most part everyone is equal.
Ok. The Ross kids (when I say that I mean Zach, Maria, and Livy) grew up in an abusive home. Their mom and dad would consistently beat them, and it was never safe for them. Carlota and Lucus were both alcoholics and gambled a lot. Zach had to raise his little sisters, comfort them while their parents shouted and got physical with each other, and treat their wounds after beatings. They often had to steal food to eat since their parents didn’t really feed them. Most of their neighbors knew about the horrors that went on in the Ross household, so they let the Ross kids get away with a lot of stuff. Not all the time, but some of the time. The parents didn’t enroll them in school, nothing. They didn’t have any friends. Zach liked going to church. He was always very superstitious. He liked to believe there was someone looking out for them. Maria was an atheist. She thought that if religion was true than heaven didn’t care about them, so she decided it was easier to not believe at all. They could never agree on what to teach Livy, so while she knew what church was she didn’t really understand what it was. Zach never knew where their next meal was coming from, but Maria and Livy always did. Their next meal would come from Zach.
When Zach was 10, Maria 9, and Livy 8, they ran away for three days. They always knew they would go back to the house, but they needed to get away for a little bit. Lucus had finally won a gamble… and had received a gun. Livy had gotten beat so bad they she had fallen unconscious and would not wake up. Zach jumped out a second story window, Maria pushed Livy out and Zach caught her and set her unconscious body on the ground. Maria jumped and Zach caught her. Maria situated Livy on Zach’s back and they ran together. They ended up and the back of a police station (they had taken an oath to never go to the police. Their parents were horrid but they were still their parents). Zach left Maria with Livy and went to knock on someone’s house to beg for bottled water and an unopened loaf of bread. It was instantly given to him, and he rejected to offer of refuge in the neighbors home. The Ross kids thought that if they didn’t care for themselves no one else would, and this created serious trust issues with anyone outside of their sibling hood. When Zach came back, a police officer was trying to help Maria and Livy (Maria was telling the officer to leave and he would not). Zach put down the essentials and picked up a stick and hit the officer hard on the head. Maria grabbed Livy and ran into the woods. Zach tried to fight off the police officer who had grabbed onto his wrist (growing up in an abusive house, Zach and Maria and even Livy had all learned to fight well). Maria came back without Livy to try and help Zach. Zach told her to grab the food and water and leave again, but after she got the essentials, more police came out. Zach told Maria to climb to the top of the building and police chased her up. Zach told the police officer to let go of him and the officer did not. The police officer insisted he could help, Zach told him the only one who could help them was them. Zach bit the police officer so hard that it would leave a permanent bite mark. Maria was running across the roof and Zach was circling the building from the ground. He told Maria to jump, and only after confirming that’s really what he said did she do so. The officers thought they were about to witness a child’s death when Zach caught her. Hand in hand, still with bread and water, they ran to the woods and back to a still unconscious Livy.
When they reached Livy in the woods, she was beginning to stir. The hand held pressure to her head would with their own hands and when she woke up they were so happy the cried. They needed medical material but didn’t know where to get them. Ultimately, the decided to risk sending Livy to the police station. Maria and Zach hid nearby, watching her every move and ready to act at a moments notice. Maria had found a fire bat in a dumpster on the way there (this was the next day). The decided to send Livy because the police already knew what Zach and Maria looked like, and Livy was the one with the injuries, so they would know what to get her better than Maria or Zach trying to describe what was wrong without really knowing themselves. The officers, unknown to the Ross kids, suspected Livy had something to do with the kids from the day before, so they didn’t try to take her into custody, knowing it would only end badly for everyone involved. They gave her the medicine and watched her go, sending an FBI agent to silently follow her and to NOT ENGAGE. The siblings regrouped a few blocks away and returned together into the woods. Once the officer saw where they had camp he returned to the station. When officers came to check on the kids the next day, the camp was empty. The kids were gone. There was a note that said “don’t follow us again” left where evidence of a campfire was. After patching up Livy and taking a nap (Livy was NOT allowed to sleep, so Maria and Zach took turns sleeping and keeping Livy awake), the returned home.
When Zach was 11, Maria 10, and Livy 9, Carlota and Lucus got a divorce. Neither really wanted the kids, but bc Lucus was Race #1 and Zach and Livy were Race #1, and Carlota was Race #3 and Maria was Race #3, each parent assumed who the other parent’s favorite children were. Assuming they were hurting the other, Carlota fought for (and won) full custody for Zach and Livy, and Lucus fought for (and won) full custody of Maria. Lucus was forced to change his number and Carlota was forced to move, so says the verdict of the court.
Zach and Livy were forced to move away with Carlota, and Maria was forced to stay with Lucus. They had 24 hours before they were separated forever. Zach took his little sisters to the priests house and, even though Maria didn’t believe, begged the priest to make sure his sister was fed and alive. The priest, ofc, complied. They knocked on a few other neighbors houses and told them of the secret code. You see, the Ross kids had been trick or treating twice in their entire lives, which is twice as much as anyone would have expected (even though it was candy it was food and they needed something to stall the hunger). The Ross kids pulled from those Halloween costumes to make codes for each other. Zach had a yellow glove and a purple glove, and Maria and Livy had purple scrunches. Zach wearing a yellow glove singled to his sisters “be extra careful.” They always had to be careful, but if Zach had seen something truly terrible, he wore the yellow glove. The purple glove meant “DANGER. Leave NOW.” If ever they saw Zach wearing the purple glove, they knew that that meant to lock themselves inside of their room. Maria knew better than to leave Livy behind on times like those. The purple scrunchie in Livy or Maria’s hair meant “Come save me.” It meant they were hurt and couldn’t say anything, or that had seen something that would put them all in danger. Zach told SOME of the neighbors, including the priest, that if they ever saw Maria with a purple scrunchie in her hair to come save her. He told Maria to never go inside ANYONE’S house, and if she really needed refuge she should go inside of the church. Bc of this, the priest always left the church doors unlocked for her. One horrible thing was certain. After that, Maria would be on her own.
And actually, Zach didn’t rlly trust any of those ppl he talked to. He chose the priest bc Zach was a little religious, he chose the family that had given them bread and bottled water, the couple always offered them bandaid whenever they saw the Ross kids, and the next door neighbor who was in charge of children during church.
Zach Ross part2
Part 8
For 10 years, while Garté moved to one city on the other side of the country with his wife and his 2+1 sons and Derek moved his family to a city right next to Garté’s, Zach murder and stole and committed all sorts of crimes at Micheal’s orders. The board with faces only piled up and got more crowded with more drawings. He still stayed in contact with Livy, who also served as a middle man between Zach and Maria because Livy was used to running and hiding and fighting bc of her job and Maria had a family to worry about (something Zach and Livy lost a long time ago). Livy and Zach passed information between each other to keep the other safe. Livy would say Zach’s catchphrase was “I’d do anything for the Lycans.” One time, when Aaron was in college, there was a boy who kept harassing him. The boy (Xiaver) was meant to make sure Aaron didn’t expose the family secret. Rude, considering Aaron would never do that. Livy, along with Rowan (the same as mentioned earlier) worried about Xiaver’s true intentions. Rowan and Xiaver had the same job. Eventually, Rowan contacted Livy, asked her if she knew anyone by the name of Xiaver Admirr. Rowan told her the situation and Livy did some digging, although she warned him it wouldn’t be as effective since she didn’t have David anymore. David was always her tech savvy. Even still, she put to use what she had learned from David. She also called Zach and asked him about Xiaver Admirr. Zach’s tone changed and Livy realized she’d found her jackpot. Zach said that Xiaver was a highly recommended bounty hunter, specialized in killing people with cursed conditions (like the red-eye condition). Livy told Zach how she knew Xiaver and asked Zach to kill him. Zach replied, “You know I’d do anything for the Lycans, but I might get caught. He works to close to Micheal, practically worships the ground he walks on. Never thought I’d see the day someone gives Elizabeth a run for her money.” Eventually though, Rowan talked to Derek and got Xiaver fired. Livy worked as his taxi driver and drove him to a rendezvous that Xiaver had with Zach so Zach could take him back to base. Once Livy drove away and Xiaver and Zach were far enough away from the main road, Xiaver started talking about his revenge plot. How he was going to go back and mount the head of every Lycan on his bedroom wall. Zach didn’t waste any time for a quick, silently, bloody killing. He sent Livy a thumbs up emoji when it was done, a dolphin emoji once Xiaver was buried, and a shirt emoji once Zach has cleaned up and the evidence was gone. Livy sent him back a sparkle emoji. But that was after the 10 years, so let me explain what broke that 10 year streak.
Livy had texted Zach. Sylvanna and Aphelia were moving back in town. No one knew why, apparently for work, but they were moving back. And back into the SAME HOUSE. It was the only one for sale. It was too sickeningly “perfect” to be coincidence. Not to mention that Zach and Elizabeth were getting transferred out of town on cult business and wouldn’t be back for a long time. Plus, Micheal and his son were staying in town. So Zach started calling in favors. First, he called Derek, told him what was happening, begged him to move back and keep an eye on Sylvanna and Aphelia. Derek conceded. They moved that day. Zach called Garté, explained and begged, Garté moved the next day. Zach thanked them both, and left town. Derek and Garté soon ran into each other and understood. They silently agreed to have each other’s backs, but if Micheal killed one of their family members, they were on their own. They were in his turf now.
Garroth, Zane, Vylad, Travis, Danté, Katelyn and Aphelia actually all became friends. They all went to the same high school. The same high school their parents went too. Aaron and Aphelia actually fell in love. Aphelia was quite the catch. Garroth and Kacey loved her as well. Travis developed feelings for Katelyn, there was a whole thing. They all became life long friends, even Gene (he was a bit older than them but same age as Aaron so!) They reminded some of the more educated parents all too much of themselves at that age. Thick as thieves. Would die for each other. Maria, James, Derek, Rachel, and Garté watched all the kids with a close eye. Elizabeth and Eric had long since divorced, but Eric still lived there will Kaleb, Katelyn and Kacey. They watched the children grow into adults. Livy still came by Sylvanna’s house just because Sylvanna and Livy were friends. However, Sylvanna did have a condition. Livy could only come by if Aphelia thought that Livy was Sylvanna’s sister and not Zach’s. Livy complied. Livy and Zach still visited Maria now and then, Livy more often than Zach, but Danté and Gene knew who they were. Sometimes Livy would pass updates of Zach on to Derek, but not often. But if so, Zach would pass it on to Garté. Livy and Zach never stopped telling each other absolutely everything. Thankfully, they were never caught.
Part 8
Part 9
And then the turn around. There is a lodge out in the woods that Micheal has ordered Elizabeth and Zach to mine emeralds from. They’ve been doing this for about 3 years now. This lodge was bought by all of them years ago before the cult had defective members. One day Zach is told to go alone to mine the emeralds. Zach goes through the motions, but he notices some changes. The town has more people—more TOURISTS. That’s when he hears it from the store owner. The lodge at the top of the hill, the great big one, had been turned into a hotel. HORRIFIED, Zach runs to the lodge and learns what happened. For SOME REASON Garté and Derek had sent their sons up there to turn the ledge into a tourist trap to get money for the Lycan business and the Ro’Meave business. Aaron and Garroth brought some of their friends up there to help, inculding Zane and Aphelia. Ian had been sent as a spy there and got carried away and permanently scarred all those kids that were up there. Aaron had gotten exposed, Zane, Aphelia, and another one of their friends had been put under the influence of a potion that lasts forever. Aaron had been pushed off a cliff, had been left to bleed out, and should have died a grand total of THREE TIMES. By a MIRACLE, they were one of their friends, Lucy, was a very powerful which. Zach had left his spell book there from the last time he went mining and she was able to figure how to brake the potions. Aphelia had been saved, Zane, and there other friend as well. Aaron was in a coma and his eyes were red. Without him being conscious, there was no way to tame them. Derek, Rachel, and Melissa had arrived after Aphelia called them to explain. This was after things had calmed down of course. No one knew where Ian was, but some thought Aaron killed him. Without Aaron awake to confirm, they didn’t know. They had opened to hotel as planned, since the lodge was fixed up, but it was mostly a cover so no one would believe the rumors flying about. Zach was devastated. He secretly signaled to Derek that he was there, and the two of them shouted at each other in secret. Derek mad that Ian was there, Zach telling him he hadn’t known. Zach mad that Derek would send them to where the emeralds were, Derek saying he hadn’t known. In the end they just hoped the kids were ok and wished each other the best. Zach returned to Micheal with the news that it was no longer safe to mine there.
Part 9
Part 10
A year later, disaster strikes again. Derek takes his wife and kids to a place that’s kinda like if Disneyland was on Hawaii. And all over Hawaii. Zach is there under order of Micheal, and when Zach learns that the Lycans are there too, he seizes the opportunity. Derek is looking for a physical therapist and Zach takes the job. Since Aaron has never met Zach (at least in memory), there’s no risk in recognition. Zach works Aaron to recovery for a few months and then he’s good to go again. Melissa stops by to thank Aaron’s trainer. She pauses for a moment, a vague memory coming to mind, but the recognition is ultimately lost on her, much to Zach’s relief. She thanks “Mr. Ross” and then leaves again. Through Aaron’s physical therapy, Zach learns that Aaron plans to propose to Aphelia. Zach is happy for them, but worries. Micheal isn’t done with the Lycans yet, and Zach already isn’t happy with who’s in the cross fire. Long story short, for SOME REASON Elizabeth shows up on the island. She isn’t supposed to be there, but she’s there (to give a sense in the time line, Aphelia is probably about 27 or 28). She says Micheal told her to be there, and who is Zach to question Micheal’s orders. But there’s more. Not only are Derek, Rachel, Melissa, Aaron, and Aphelia there. But Ziana, Garté Garroth, Zane, Sylvanna, Eric, Katelyn, Terri/Micheal, Travis, Lucy, and several other friends of the 2 gen ppl. Zach doesn’t like where it’s going. And to make matters worse? Livy is there. Now, Livy would be great to have in this situation, but no actually she’s the last person anyone would want there. Because if SHE’S there, the government branch she’s spying on is there. The GF are there. And that’s bad news for everyone involved. Something just as bad? Ian is alive. He’s been experimented on (again) and has now been spelled into obedience.
What’s even worse???? After Aaron proposed to Aphelia, they all went to a dinner to celebrate. On the way there, strategically planned by Elizabeth no doubt, you know who crosses their path? IAN. Y’know the only person to see him? AARON. Seeing Ian again makes Aaron so angry that his eyes turn red. Melissa sees and gets scared. She tries to run over and shield her little brother’s eyes from the Race #3 individuals… but it’s too late. Garroth. He falls slowly, stiffly to the ground. And starts SCREAMING (Zach hears about all of this in a report Livy received from Derek and then passed on to Zach).
Part 10
Part 11
However, Garroth isn’t dying. No one knows why. He lives long enough for them to take him back to where they’re staying. He LIVES. That’s never happened before. The doctor that Derek hired and trusted with the secret (certain members of Derek’s staff know the secret, like Livy and Rowan) says that’s there’s something keeping Garroth alive. Derek and Garté’s minds immediately flash to the potions that lasted forever from when Garroth was a child. It’s keeping him from dying. Garroth survives the transformation and becomes a member of Race #1.
Ian tries to kill Aphelia and she dies. Aaron looses his mind and kills several Race #3 individuals on a bridge while he tries to kill Ian. He successfully kills Ian, but there’s a massacre. Micheal snaps his fingers and Travis, Katelyn, and Garroth are suddenly under his control. He activated the dormant int potions. Micheal brings up a giant cannon from out of the sea. Zach is in the cannon and Micheal are in the cannon, as well as most of the named ppl. Melissa has been shot by the GF (while she was unarmed) and her body taken away by the GF at this point, Rachel has been executed by the GF, Derek and Aaron have been kidnapped by Micheal, and Garroth and Katelyn are under full control. Lucy does an exersism to Terri (something that Zach has pointedly avoided doing). As soon as it’s completed, Terri grabs her by the shoulders and asks her what she’s done. Micheal… is now in Travis. Travis and Katelyn are dating at this point. In an attempt to show Travis that he is good for him, Micheal uses the dormant potion to make Katelyn as pliable and lovely as a doll and exploits her using Travis’s body. Travis is disguised but physically cannot do anything. He’s trapped in his own mind watching his body being taken over and seeing the woman he loves be reduced to something that is so distinctly uncharacteristic sickens him. For a while, Micheal uses Katelyn as a doll. The pretty little girl attached to Travis’s/Micheal’s shoulder. The one who waits hand and foot for all his pleasures, until he finally needs her strength. He puts her in a GF uniform and sends her on the front lines with Garroth. Zach is now being closely monitored by Micheal, ever since Ian killed Aphelia. Zach is ANGRY. When he found out he went to Micheal in a rage. Micheal even let Zach hit him. Then he dislocated both of Zach’s arms and jaw. He threw Zach across the hall, leaving a dent in the wall and told Zach he get up when he was ready to be a lackey again.
Part 11
Part 12
Miraculously, by miracles no one can understand, Aphelia. Is. Alive. Lucy heals her wounds, and then I suppose the heavens decided she had suffered enough because she BREATHED again. And she was ready to fight. By miracles, basically every person we’ve named that was in Hawaii in now on the cannon. EXCEPT: Eric, Sylvanna, Ziana, Garté, aaaaand Ian (but that’s cuz he’s dead). Zach and Micheal go to see the death of Aaron. Before this, Micheal tells Zach to check on the prisoners. Zach goes to Derek’s cell (Rowan is in the cell next to him), and immediately tries his keycard to open it. It doesn’t work. Confused Zach tries again. Still nothing. From inside the cell, Derek stares in disbelief. His childhood best friend, the one and only Zach Ross. Derek choked his name with the slightest hint of hope. “Give me a second,” Zach whispered, but the key card still didn’t work. Frustrated, Zach begins pulling on the bars. “Help me!” He whisper hissed to Derek. Derek pushes and Zach pulls and nothing works. They switch rolls and it still doesn’t budge. They both let their Race #1 characteristic show (which typically enhances strength) and there’s not change. Zach starts banging, desperate. “They’re going to kill Aaron,” Zach explains hurriedly, “we don’t have much time. I’m going to get my warlock’s staff and see if I can try anything else. Be right back.”
In the time that Zach is gone, Derek asks Rowan if Derek was a good father. Rowan tells Derek that Derek was one of the best fathers he’s ever seen. That no matter what happens, Derek did good. “A good son father, a good son, a good friend. A good husband. You’re good, Derek Lycan. … …You were good.”
Zach comes back, but even though Zach is one of the most talented warlock’s of his time, and even with the full power of his staff, the cell isn’t budging. Zach is forced to see to Aaron’s execution. Derek begs Zach to not let them kill his son. Zach sinks to the floor with his back to the cell. “I couldn’t even save my child,” Zach whispers. This comes as a shock to Derek, Derek didn’t know Aphelia was dead. “What makes you think I can save yours?”
Derek sits on the floor as well, back to Zach. If the bars weren’t there, their backs would have been touching. Derek starts singing an old song that they wrote back in high school. After Derek and Terri were orphaned. When they could finally relate to Zach. And when Garté was just there for the ride (bc out of all of them he had the best childhood). “I like that you’re broken…” Zach’s breathing stopped. “Broken like me. Maybe that makes me a fool.” Zach started crying, knees tucked into his chest and head in his knees. “I like that you’re lonely, lonely like me. I could be lonely with you…”
Part 12
Part 13
Unable to free Derek, Zach is forced to go to Aaron’s execution. There is a mini canon inside of the cannon that Micheal is going to use to kill Aaron. Micheal is going to make Zach press the button that triggers the cannon (once Aaron is underneath) to test his loyalty. Zach… doesn’t want to do that. But what other choice does he have? Zach and Micheal are up at the control panel and Derek and Rowan are brought in (in chains) to witness. Aaron is chained down underneath of the cannon. Micheal tells Zach to push the button, and Zach’s shaky hand reaches for it. And hovers. His hand hovers over the button, shaking. He looks out over to Derek. Derek is watching him, begging. Mouthing, “don’t do it.” Zach looks down at his hand, and for a moment, he sees it stained with blood (it isn’t actually covered in blood). He looks out at Aaron. Defenseless, broken, defeated. Zach looks back down at his hand (he doesn’t see blood anymore) and the button it hovers over. Micheal shouts at him, asking what he’s waiting for, telling him to push. Zach’s hand hovers. Below, Derek is praying. In his head, he is praying for the safety of his son. Above, at the control panel, Zach still hasn’t moved. Impatient, Micheal shoves Zach hard out of the way. Zach goes slitting to the side and Micheal slams his hand down on the button. The machine makes the horrible noise of powering up. Zach’s eyes widen, and a giant beam of light shoots down on Aaron. …but, something else is there. A force field appears all around Aaron, shielding him from his demise. Everyone stares in shock. Micheal, however, is just angry. He cranks up the power and the forcefield shrinks slightly. No one knows who made the forcefield or why it’s there (except for Micheal, and he is not happy about it). That’s when Derek hears something. A voice (only he can hear it). A woman says his name. Desperate, commanding, and Derek understands. Derek turns to Rowan (who is on his knees beside Derek) and looks at him. Rowan understands. Rowan head butts the guards and knocks them down for a few moments. Still hand cuffed, Derek makes a run for it. He runs towards Aaron, Zach watches with his eyes, Derek breaks through the forcefield, pushing Aaron far away. The forcefield breaks and the beam hits Derek. On the other side of the room where Aaron now was, a beam of golden light appears, and when it’s gone, so is he. There a giant blast from the beam that’s coming down on Derek and everyone is knocked a few feet away. By the time Micheal and Zach get on their feet, Aaron is gone and Derek is dead.
