So Snake let Raven out on a mission. But young soldier came back exhausted and cranky. With lots of cactus needles in his side.
Serpent was stuck on base for the day. Psych were on him, pressing hard after learning of his memories resurfacing. Sometimes, with the intensity of the counselling sessions, he didn’t know if they were trying to help or hinder him.
Still, when he saw his Raven return and head towards the med unit, he smiled softly to himself and approached… eyes wide with concern and a little amusement. “…there are easier ways to gather plants, dear heart,” he purred, ruffling the taller man’s hair.

Mike smiled as Serpent ruffled his hair. He leaned into his touch like lazy cat now. “I’ve tripped and tumbled like a moron. And fell on a cactus… It hurts to breathe.” He sighed.
“You want me to hold your hand while they extract these?” he murmured, leaning in to smooch his boyfriend’s forehead. What they were thinking sending Mike out on a mission like that, he had no idea, but this latest blunder didn’t exactly speak well to his true skills.
“That would be splendid…” Mike smiled at the small kiss. That felt good.
It was no secret that Kaz didn’t liked him. Just another freak, potential spy… So Mike was given small jobs.
Carefully lifting Mike’s hand in his own, he followed as a medic helped the tall, skinny soldier into an examination area, then stood by, giving his lover gentle squeezes as the staff figured out how to extract the spines and apply antiseptics and bandages. “Are you sure you fell on it and didn't just roll round in it, my heart?” It looked painful, like being run through with many tiny knives. But that could be an exaggeration...
