introductory post !!!

hiya! my name is alex (not my real name for privacy reasons) and i am a 20yo disabled singer/songwriter who also has little tumblr blogs for my silly interests-

about me:

quick facts:

. raised on Henson, it was my first special interest and… it never went away :p

. some of my very earliest memories are of the opening to the muppet movie!

. i mostly create unnecessarily overdramatic edits, as strangely it helps me cope with my chronic illnesses and the many sleepless nights it brings

. my special interest in the muppets tends to get more or less intense throughout my life, so this blog will likely be more or less active depending on where I’m at with regards to that

. i am not american, so I apologise in advance for any cultural differences or misunderstandings lol!

Every time I see “We need new Muppet movies! We need the Muppets to do (insert classic literature here)!”, I sometimes get frustrated. And like I hear you. I agree. But have you watched the most recent Muppet things? Did you watch Muppets Mayhem or Muppets Haunted Mansion, both on Disney+? They both came out within the last five years. Did you see Muppets Most Wanted? Going by the number of people calling it the “Evil Kermit meme” and not knowing who Constantine is, I doubt it. We won’t get more Muppet shows and films- or god forbid merch- if people don’t watch the most recent Muppet things. Like I WANT people to be Muppet fans. I don’t want to gate keep. Please watch newer Muppet stuff. Please post about it.

THIS OH MY GOD. not to mention that next to none of these people know the situation behind steve getting fired thus leading to,,, Different muppet content and a total mess. most of these people haven’t watched back to the rock and the dedication of that fanbase is probably the biggest proof that people still want /good/ muppet content. it’s always “we want more muppet stuff” until the muppet stuff gets made and suddenly everyone ignores it
