If you’re gay and also love Arthurian legends/Knights I’ve been reading The Bright Sword by Lev Grossman and there’s been surprise LGBTQ representation. Sir Bevidere is gay and Sir Dinadan is a trans man.

the thing is they really do let you hit because you're goofy.
i say shit like "whuh oh!" and it makes girls want to kiss me under moonlight for some reason
like i quite literally have never been more passionate about anything than i am about the human race’s invariable desire to tell stories and the fact that we always find a way to do it, through spoken language and written language and body language and visual art and theater and poetry and oral tradition and a million other things. there are so many things we take for granted about the human experience that we never stop to think about but i really want you to take a step back and consider how fucking amazing it is that our need to tell stories transcends all boundaries of time and geography and borders and language. it is one of very few things that is legitimately intrinsic to human nature and i will never stop being completely in awe of humanity for that.

a big part of being happy is being excited. be excited for everything - making a cup of tea, decorating your future apartment, seeing a friend again, falling in love unexpectedly, the next episode of a show you like, finishing something stressful, buying something you’ve been saving up for, a new album, sunsets, traveling, road trips, and the feeling of going to bed after a long day. think of something to be excited about and daydream about it often when you’re sad.
you can begin again and again and again for the rest of your life

I saw a raven in person for the first time the other day and it really is true that if you look at it and say "I wonder if that's a crow or a raven?" it's a crow. If you instead go "holy shit look at that huge bird" it's a raven.
I'm proud of me. I am. I don't feel it all the time. other times, there is so much going on, how I feel about myself seems like an insignificant detail. but it's there. a gold thread in a much larger tapestry, just as beautiful when picked out on its own.
I am proud of me. I'm proud of who I'm becoming and the ways in which I watch myself grow. I'm proud of what I've overcome. I am proud of how I interact with others. how I spend my time. how I handle my fear. how I experience my joy.
only I know the whole of what I've been through; who I want to be and if I'm any closer to it, and the distance I've traveled and will continue to travel to get there. I don't need to wait until or if I ever reach it to know there's something to be proud of. it doesn't need to be over, to be its best, to be complete in order to be an accomplishment. I'm proud of me. though I might forget, I'll remember again.
