A little suggestion for people that write reader insert stories/fics: You don’t have to use things like ______ or y/n for the reader to feel involved. In fact, for me at least, that takes the reader out of the setting. If I’m reading a fic that’s supposed to make me feel like I’m in the protagonist and read something like “Hey _____!” or “Hey y/n!” it pulls me out. Instead of that, you could have other characters address the reader through “Hey!”, they called your name, or so on. You don’t have to have every instance where the reader would be mentioned to include an acronym or blank. You can write around it while still including the reader and making them feel in the moment.
