Aha. That's exactly it. [Grins.] Or so I've heard, too. [Can't hide his grin at her tutting, looking down to her and narrowing his own eyes in return.] Really. So, do you tuck them into your pockets, then, or do I just have to wait until you don't have your rucksack with you--? [Clears his throat, nodding straight ahead of them - a bright pink display with colorful fruits directly in front of a dark building echoing with screams.] That's the one, I think-- the music really makes you hungry, eh?♪
Mm, well...I don’t actually ever not have my rucksack on me, even for those dances that happen. So...if you’re attempting to plot out my demise by your hand, you’ll have to do so battle ready. [Huffs through her nose, crossing her arms over her body and looking away, feigning offense.]
[Looks towards the stand he nods at, quirking a brow]...that’s...huh; that’s actually really weird they’d put that stand there, what with the colors and all. [Chuckles, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear] Very hungry, actually, though perhaps not just for a Popsicle...would you like one since you showed me where it was?
[Chuckles, grinning by now at her preferred method of murder.] Aha-- understandable, most people wouldn't want to be caught. There's just sort of a thrill that comes with it, you know? Wondering if maybe someone might recognize the truth. [All grins as he starts down the other path with her, squinting again to the far end.] Well, I can't tell if I see the ice pops yet, but-- the lights look about right. [Smiles pleasantly, side glancing at her.] Say-- you're not armed right now, are you?♪
Mm. [Nods her head a few times] Yes, of course. It’s exhilarating, like experiencing your first high all over again. And then after the first few times, that high slowly becomes unreachable ever again...or so I’v heard [Purses her lips, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear] And depending on the type of person you are. If you enjoy murder for the fun of it, I don’t suppose that ‘high’ would ever go away.
[Chuckles after he indicates the ‘lights look about right,’] At this rate, we’ll probably stumble right into the booth.
[Lips compress, eyes narrowing as she glances to him. She tuts.] Well...for the record, I’m never not armed considering I carry my farming tools everywhere and they’re quite lethal in their own right.
What if I was serious, Collin?
dannysgroceries:
I dunno, would that be a fair handicap? If not, is there anything you can actually see? I feel like most games have you aiming at something-or-other. Are there any stalls where eyesight doesn’t matter, like that one where you have to pick the duck with the right number on the bottom?
It could be; at least I’d consider it to be one. [Chuckles, shrugging] Though you’re right, there’s the ones with the ducks, and there’s always the betting ones, where you put your marker on one of the numbers and they spin the board...Kinda like Roulette.
Heh-- well, see, that's the beauty of it. [Grins, lowering his voice and leaning slightly to be heard over the crowd around them.] If you're not on record for ever working there, how are they gonna know it was you? Makes a spectacle more than anything, it's really a very flashy murder. [Chuckles, straightening up and shifting back his shoulders as he looks around - as if to be sure no one heard - pausing in his step after a moment.] Wait-- I think I hear the music. Maybe around the corner here?
[Nods in agreement, lowering her voice to match his] Very true, flashy murders are always fun; and you really could make it a show in there if you know what you’re doing...you could do it all in one blow or even drag it out, depending on your mood and style I suppose...[Runs a hand through her hair] I’m just one for being cautious; I like to make sure my bases are not only covered, but reinforced, so as to not have to go through any headaches afterwards.
[Purses her lips as she tries to listen] Mm, maybe; that does kinda sound like the music I heard from it earlier. [Turns the corner onto the new path, tossing the empty paper cone from her cotton candy into a trash can. Stares down the path as she walks, focusing on the attraction at the end] I think...that’s it.
Huh - I guess that makes sense. [Grins wryly.] In my job experience, it's better to wear glasses sometimes. Heh. [Pauses, watching her dig through her pockets idly before shrugging and following - squinting around at the bright lights unhelpfully.] It probably does have ghosts. I'm sure a few dead bodies, too - and serial killers lurking-- [Smiles pleasantly, shrugging.] It's the best place to commit a murder, you know - heh, everyone thinks it's part of the show.
Oh? [Scratches her cheek] Mm, yeah I guess that makes sense...at least with glasses, your eyes don't start to feel like they're drying out after a few hours.
[Shudders at the possibility of ghosts] dead bodies and serial killers I'm okay with; it's the supernatural that doesn't sit well with me.
[Hums thoughtful, thinking for a few moments before speaking] Very true. It's probably dark enough, and all you'd have to do is steal one of the costumes...but there's still the issue of taking the body out and disposing of it without being seen. You can't just leave it there. Not to mention it's a lot harder to prove a murder with no body.
mollygoodgolly:
Sure? Why not.
[Takes another bite of the cotton candy]
Any game you had in mind?
Mm… [Looks around for something they could do.] There’s those games where you shoot toys down, or the one where you toss rings onto bottles. Either of those sound good?
Ah, well the shooting games I'm actually pretty good at, so that wouldn't be fair if we played one of those...then again, I don't have my glasses so I wouldn't be able to see the targets anyways.
[Blinks, looking to her with a quirked brow.] Really. Huh-- I never could get into contacts, something about sticking things into my eyes that never sat right with me-- [Squints, continuing to walk as he buries his hands into his pockets.] Well, uh-- I don't remember there being games. But there was this weird tinny music-- almost like it was echoing through something metal. Sounded like a horror house, come to think of it.. you see one of those around?
No? Well, I get what you mean. It took a little practice for me, but I'm glad I'm used to them now. It's next to impossible to do any work with glasses on while it's raining.
[Checks her other pocket, finding nothing but a few packets of flower seeds and some twine. Frowns, wondering if she stuck them in her rucksack instead.]
Tinny music...horror house...[Purses her lips in thought a moment] ...oh! Wait I think I know what you're talking about. It was...[Stops, turning to the left towards another path of games and vendors] I think it was that way maybe. I thought the horror house looked neat, but I was worried it might have ghosts in it or something.

[Looks up at him, lips and tongue starting to turn blue from the color] I guess. Some stores sell it, but not freshly made. Baseball games have some, but I haven’t been to a baseball game in…forever and a half.
Store-bought sounds like it’d be terrible. Point is, you don’t get it in a lot of places. It’s hard not to splurge on stuff you don’t get often. I’m less interested in the food than in any prizes they have for beating stand games, but it looks like I’m just not lucky tonight.
[Nods] True, true. Though I’m terrible at the games anyway. At least the ones that are luck based, anyways.
Yeah. Hey, since we’re both unlucky, once you’re done with that do you wanna go compete at one of the games? Maybe one of us will win.
Sure? Why not.
[Takes another bite of the cotton candy]
Any game you had in mind?
So. Tunnel of love eh?
[Glances towards him, quirking a brow]Mm? Is that what this ride is? [Scratches her cheek] I saw everyone flocking to it earlier.[Shrugs] I don't suppose you're Trent, are you?
They were, uh-- [Turns to look around him, squinting for a moment before turning again.] Somewhere around-- hold on, I bet I could find them again, c'mon. [Nods his head in a direction, still squinting.] Sprites, my eyes are worse than I thought. I think the sign was orange--
[Nodding, she stands up and follows, looking around as well]
Orange sign?
[Looks around in vain, before her brows furrow. She begins patting her pockets] You and me both. I ran out of contact lenses so I've had to keep my glasses on me...I hate wearing them though.
[Reaches into her pocket, pulling out some of the contents before shoving them back in]
Do you remember what it was next to? Any of the games?

[Clears his throat as he butts into her conversation.] The cotton candy isn't as good as the ice pops. They're at least hydrating, you know?
[Blinks, turning to him]...wait, they have ice pops? Where'd you find those?!
