A GUY'S CRASH COURSE TO 2013 COLLECTIONS: BALMAIN SPRING PICKS
Balmain has always had a cool, edgy, and rocker aesthetic. This spring's collection was no exception. The mostly khaki, black, and olive green military inspired collection is perfectly tailored with cool leather jackets and slim trousers with motorcycle details. We definitely take inspiration from the collection's looks. Bring out those leather jackets, gentlemen!
Black leather and olive green is a pairing that always looks cool. We love this simple olive green henley paired with the structured, tailored leather jacket. Cargo pants are rarely a look we would wear, but the slim silhouette of these pants almost make us feel okay about cargo pants. Almost.
This military jacket is a piece that we need in our closets now. It's tailored to perfection and the short length makes it more casual and seem less campy. The motorcycle detailing on the jeans are subtle but add visual interest to set them apart from your average pair of jeans.
Okay, so we aren't huge fans of colored leather. But the darkness of this teal leather jacket almost makes it seem like a neutral. It would work with lots of other neutrals and would add a bit of flair to any look.
COLLECTION MUST HAVES:
Tailored leather/military inspired jackets
Detailed trousers
Simple henley tops

A GUYS GUIDE TO COLOR: THREE WEARABLE AND COLORFUL SPRING LOOKS
Spring's a-comin' and we can't wait. Color is always a huge trend for spring and we couldn't help but repost these great looks we found while browsing tumblr. These looks perfectly encompass the use of color throughout an entire look and would be perfect for any spring occasion. Pastels, rich colors, and brights, oh my!
This is by far our favorite look of the three. It's got the perfect Sunday brunch look that we love for spring. The mix of the pastels look so cool and are highlighted by darker accessories. What makes this look work is the fact that all the pastels are about the same intensity so not one stands out over the other.
Mint is one of our favorite shades for spring. We love the idea of this monochromatic mint look. The brown accessories stand out and compliment the mint shade. The brighter mint shade is the perfect focal point in this look because the lighter, more subdued mint three piece suit frames it perfectly.
This is a richer and darker color scheme that would look great on any spring night. We love the look of burgundy paired with navy and the trouser-shoe pairing is a fresh take on this color combination.
QUICK TIPS:
DO:
Pair pastels of equal intensity together
Try a brighter shade shirt under a more subdued suit
DON'T:
Be stuck in neutrals this spring. Try some color!
Be afraid to try new looks like a brighter shoe.
Just a touch of camo.
Effortlessly cool

STYLE PROFILE: JUSTIN O'SHEA
Justin O'Shea, buying director for MyTheresa.com, is a one of today's most fashionable men. You have probably seen him all over street style blogs and can easily recognize his permanently sunglassed and bearded face. He's got the perfect biker/rocker/gentleman look down to a T and we admire his ability to make his look classic yet still individual.
One of O'Shea's favorite looks is a printed shirt with a great fitting suit and some boots. We love the color pairings of this look. The grey suit is an unexpected choice for the shirt, but it looks toned down and cool and brings attention to the red tones of the shirt and the shoes.
O'Shea rocks a three-piece suit regularly, but we love the twist he took on this look with the striped vest. Typically you wouldn't pair black with cream and white, but the vest instantly becomes the focal point of the look when paired with the all-black ensemble.
This is one of our favorite looks by O'Shea. We love a good tropical floral print for spring. But this isn't your average tropical shirt outfit. He makes the look edgy pairing it with a pair of slim black pants and a leather jacket. The shirt instantly looks cooler and he effortlessly makes this trendy piece his own.
KEY ELEMENTS TO HIS STYLE:
Sunglasses, always.
A beard practically every man is jealous of.
Slim, well fitted suit pieces
Patterned pieces
