Depression and anxiety runs in my family, and my mom has been on anti-depressants for about 10 years, and I'm so fucking fortunate to have friends and family who not only take mental illness seriously, but are supportive of getting treatment and getting healthy.
I've been on lexapro for my depression for about 6 months now, give or take, and it's really worked wonders for me. I've been really lucky to have a good therapist and doctor who listen to my needs and what I want out of a medication and are willing to work with me.
Depression and anxiety suck, but having a good support base makes it so much better.
