Ok, bear with me for a sec. (NOT my idea but I read this like YEARS ago in fic from another fandom (Jojo's part 3) and i loved it so much i had to translate the fic ajdkdk) sooo:
Steddie soulmates AU where the feelings of your soulmate appear as flowers on your skin (language of flowers my beloved) So i was thinking:
Eddie's feelings (on Steve's skin):
Acacia blossom: concealed love (pining since highschool anyone?)
Anemone: forsaken (while hiding in the boathouse and thinking that he's fucking screwed, all of Hawkins is going to think he killed Chrisy, who is going to believe the town's freak? They are already beware of him because the satanic panic or something)
Camellia: admiration, good luck (lovers lake boat scene? Steve diving so nobody else has to?)
Hyacinth (yellow): jealousy (nancy and steve in the ud)
Hyacinth (purple): I am sorry, please forgive me (Eddie cutting the rope, feeling so guilty and hearing Dustin scream, he knows this is suicide)
Cyclamen: Resignation & goodbye (i needn't say it)
Steve's feelings (on Eddie's skin):
Carnation (red): my heart aches for you, admiration (I'm thinking like the beginning of the season, and like his heart aches because of Eddie's situation (being blamed for murder))
Tulip (yellow): there's sunshine in your smile (he IS sunshine)
Palm leaves: victory & success (it's an AU, of course the plan works and vecna is fucking dead!)
Rose (dark crimson): mourning (finding Dustin crying and cradling Eddie's body, thinking he Is Dead)
Rose (dark pink): thankfulness (Steve looks at his body and the flowers are. Still. There. So Eddie's not dead (yet))
Violet (white): let's take a chance on happiness (angst with a happy ending everybody?)
Anyway, that's all I've got. They know they are soulmates since the broken bottle to the neck scene because I'm thinking maybe Grass (submission) appears on Eddie's skin (sub!Steve my beloved 👀), but they don't wanna say anything (period-typical homophobia u.u)
